(GigaDrillBreaker)
I adored this piece. The colors, the face, I would have voted for it if I didn't like Catman's so much. Kinda weird how the head is behind the silhouette, and the eyes is in front of it.
Tormented
texture/render/texture as clipping mask is what this looks like. It's interesting but the execution is a bit off.
Thar
texture/render/texture as clipping mask is what this looks like. It's interesting but the execution is a bit off. I can never get execution right. Even with the basics mastered, that's the one thing if not the only thing I can understand, and it bugs me. The thing I wanted to emphasize was the concept of the render showing its opposite nature to the world around it. The sloppy sketch of the smiley face was on purpose to demonstrate its lackluster but genuine love for visual expression despite its lack of ability to make it look good, causing an internal struggle. I'm sure photoshop could give me more ways to pull it off better, but I'm so used to GIMP that I can't use the methods effectively.
Tormented
here is a "tag" I made 6/7 years ago. Here is a tag I made a couple of weeks ago. It took me 6 years to get where I am today and even then the pieces I produce can be hit and miss and I was producing at a rate of being hit and miss, it takes time so stick with it. Nope, you can do almost the same s*** with GIMP than with Photoshop. And it's better if you know how to do when you want to do something with your software. The main differences are just the way by which you'll come at the same result, and the time you'll spend...However, if you can get a free Photoshop, then, you should experiment with it... :B
Smear
Bro I was a GIMP guy until I actually got photoshop. Not sure what it is, but once you actually learn it I think you can do stuff that GIMP just can't do. Not sure why though. Unless it's pentool. GIMP pentool > PS This piece was interesting, in an abstract way. Fundamentally, this is a bit weird. No lighting, focals strange, no flow, depth, and colours are really weird. But that's looking fundamentally at it which this piece should definitely be looked at in an abstract way. It's pretty cool, although I think that you could've done something a lot better than the smiley and actually pulled off something really kick-ass.
