I'm also offended.  It's quite obvious the reason all the old people showed up is cuz Dark dropped his mixtape.  That and everyone knows this wouldn't be a party without Crabcakes Crab Helmet.  But then, she can't come back can she?  :c

Yeah, I think Crab's permabanned due to stuff that happened in 2012 regarding her and YCMaker.

(I wasn't around during that period, so can't say more on that)

 

Bloodrun got banned in 2009 for reasons I technically forgot at this point, and don't think the staff will be keen on letting him return (if he still cared about YCM after all that time; likely not). To be honest, I only interacted with him maybe once or twice during my newbie days (and probably some time afterward).

 

Not sure on Browa though.

Didn't Dranzer log in on Skype for like a second a year ago?

But yeah, we were thinking he died or something...

 

Deustodo was like a stoned, offensive Machismo, but I liked having him around. He joined Akatsuki to post in it a few times, but he was never a Naruto fan. He was a Chibi and Fake Type Knight, through and through.

 

There was also Hitokage, Calvin, Ninjew, Daybreak, true_madara_uchiha (though only BT and I would remember him), Lemons (Kakashi), a few others from CK, etc.

Scott and Josh (Browarod and Icy) are actually pretty close.  I don't know Scott so well myself (except by name) but I keep up with Josh of course.  Only did business outside of YCM once or twice with Bloodrun.  He was a genuinely nice guy when weren't talking about YCM.  He seemed cool as funk honestly.  Hearing this isn't so much a shocker as it is a "well I kinda expected so, but that's still silly".

It's kinda off topic but I would like to point out I usually end up with an average of 50 posts a week. And I don't post in anything involving cards games really.

If you were in the older generation, Cow, you'd probably average maybe 4-5x that amount (which is quite a lot); though partly with Clubs. 

That's kind of the reason why the five members who currently have more post count than I do are currently up there.

Well, I have to derive my day-to-day entertainment from sources that aren't this forum, so I guess you could say it's been a bit of a struggle.

 

Yeah I remember this sheet.  I was still on hiatus but I lurked like hell laughing through most of it.  I'd celebrate nostalgia if YOU NIGGAS SHOWED MORE.  DARK WTF.

I hope you might like to know that for a while Dark, I carried on the proud tradition of being needlessly cruel to fanfic writers for no reason beyond stroking mah dick like so many people before us. Okay, it was more like two people, but still a proud tradition regardless.

 

I was considering rebooting the fanfic review thread, but considering that both Fenrir and I are busy with college things (and even if we ignore my college things, I don't have a new partner to review with) it seems like an unlikely event. Wow.  Dark was my favorite member of all time when I joined - it's a shame he left about three months after that.  I do wish I had kept in contact with him.

In all seriousness, however, I'm glad this thread became a bit of a congregation point for the old(er) members of YCM, but keep in mind that I matured my personality here and I want newer members to maybe go through the same thing (perhaps it's bias speaking, but I've never been to another forum with the level of user diversity as 2010/2011-YCM).

 

The point of this thread, in my humble opinion, is to maybe spark newer users into realizing that they can craft some sort of online personality. Before YCM, my real life persona was nothing like Dark. And after YCM, my real life persona is... nothing like Dark. But being "Dark" has changed who I am in real life, and while I'm not a complete ass in-person, being one here was interesting. And informative. And helped me mature as a person, believe it or not.

 

Be interesting. Even if you have to fake it, this is kind of the only place in the world you can easily fake being interesting. And maybe soon enough it'll bleed over into real life.

 

Or maybe I just have my head in the clouds - in either case, whatever legacy (good or bad, existent or not) I've left here, I hope people can learn from it.
