Rodrigo
Finally own a copy. <3 Pretty powerful in EDH really. And if you do get the emblem, some nasty things can happen for just 1 mana. But really, the -2 effect is insane, getting to steal Wurmcoils, Gilded Lotuses and Steel Hellkites. Discuss~
Simping For Hina
Grixis Superfriends in Legacy is pretty fantastic because of this card. Stealing Sensei's Divinging Top isn't so bad, but with Stoneforge being almost everywhere: There is no reason to not include this in that deck. Great alongside Jace, too. Simping For Hina
Can't they just chain Top activation? When you're playing Superfriends, especially against Miracles, you have to force them to use to. Yes, they can chain Top, and should, but it does normally work for the advantage of Grixis Superfriends as long as the card quality is able to keep up. So, it isn't "stealing", but making thier topdecks worse over the course of playing. Counterspells are at their most strong and weak in this matchup. Other decks that utilize Top, there should be other notable cards to pick. Otherwise, this card fuels Dig Through Time and makes card quality better over the long haul. Flame Dragon
I'm curious, how good is his ultimate in commander? Like, the first two abilities are nuts, but I've always been a giant question mark on the power level of the last one.
bury the year
I'm curious, how good is his ultimate in commander? Like, the first two abilities are nuts, but I've always been a giant question mark on the power level of the last one. I've never gotten Dack's emblem to go off in any of the games in which I've played him, but it really doesn't seem worth it. There are very few spells I can think of in those colors that are a) playable in EDH and b) don't just remove the target from the board. Haven't even tried to work towards his emblem, though. The first two abilities are just so much value, particularly in an artifact-heavy meta like my own.

bury the year
I think you're thinking of Cauldron of Souls. Neither would work. The ultimate only goes off on targets of spells, not targets of abilities. Otherwise my Nin deck would want it even more.
Miror B
a) playable in EDH and b) don't just remove the target from the board. No enchantments either? I would think Blue would have at least plenty of them. And you aren't restricted to Red/Blue, he's never your commander.

And you aren't restricted to Red/Blue, he's never your commander. The blue auras that are most playable in EDH are mostly theft effects (Control Magic, Treachery, Volition Reins, etc), so Dack doesn't do much more there. And whoops, yeah. My point still applies, though: iirc the majority of targeting spells played in the format are removal.

Resident Fascist
This with notion thief makes my favorite vintage deck. I literally came into this topic to mention that it's amazing in Vintage Shops (?), not entirely too sure on Vintage stuff but taking people's moxen feels quite dirty. Also, off topic:"Dack?""...Dack?""Dack!""No good, I've lost Dack."
