Card A

Once per turn: You can change this card to face-down Defense Position. When this card is Flip Summoned: Target 1 Level 4 or lower Rock-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-down Defense Position, and if you do, switch this card's original ATK and DEF. If a monster you control is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or card effect) and sent to the Graveyard: You can banish 1 Rock-Type monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard in face-down Defense Position.

Card B

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by banishing 1 EARTH monster from your Graveyard. During either player's turn, if a monster's effect would be activated that targets a monster you control: You can change this card's battle position; negate that activation, and if you do, destroy that monster. You can only use the effect of "Ancient Beast of Stone" once per turn.

Card A takes great advantage of Rock's milling capabilities with Catapult Zone and Rock Bombardment and such. It doesn't take a huge amount of setup, but needing Flip Summoning makes its field presence kind of slow. You could run it in most Rock decks as a wall with revival capabilities but again, a bit slow.

Card B kind of has a Gaia Plate clause, I guess, but it's pretty much a lot stronger. Negation effect gives it nice synergy with Rock stun but does not entirely limit it to that deck. Rather vulnerable if left in Attack Position, which does kind of balance it out.

Vote for B for better synergy.

Card A is a great card for flip rocks because they need a way to swarm the field in face-down. Granted it would take some set up needing to survive for a turn, but that should be easy with flip rocks stalling capabilities.

Card B is nice because it can negate targeting monster effects and get out fairly easily, but because of it's sub-optimal ATK, it won't likely survive to use the negation.

My vote goes to Card A because Flip Rocks need love. While Card B can do quite a bit for rock stun and other EARTH stun decks, Card A fits better with it's own deck than Card B's versatility.
