Fire Fiend / Tuner / Effect
LV2 600/200
You can only use the (2) effect of “Red Resonator” once per turn. (1) When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. (2) When this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 face-up monster; gain LP equal to its current ATK.

That effect is amusing, I love it. It definitely looks like it works nicely with other Resonators for Red Nova or similar, because it can set up Synchro plays by SSing a non-Tuner, OR it can SS another Tuner for double tuning.

And it's a Resonator, which I love. The LP gain effect is just hilarious.

Honestly, this guy sounds great in at least some Clownblade variant. It gets dead clowns/blades/extra jugglers out of hand to make Nothung/Psyhemuth. It + Higurumi = Metaphys Horus. It + Level 4 + Hat = Leo.

If Red Wyvern comes out well, it'll probably be the best Lv. 6 all around, with Psyhemuth and Horus on backup.

Issue here is that it and Kagetokage do not get along. I'd run it over Kage, but the lizard will be better T1, though this is better after.

Also, ED space in the Seraph build is tight as sheet, though it makes Chair a lot less shitty, which is a huge plus. It also gets along fine with stick. Redres + Stick + IF is a Level 6 + a 3-mat, which isn't bad.

On the bright side, this is a really good CotH target. +0 revival of tuners is good enough value, given their special status, but this gives you LP... In Clownblade. Unless it targets itself or Chair, you'll be getting at LEAST a "+1" out of it.

This card just needs the right clown build to shine. Honestly, this + Higurumi could keep the deck alive, albeit weaker, if Lavalval goes to 1/0.

And then...

If we get more good resonators, we have a couple of cute Resonator Engine cards. Engine was never good, but it could be useful if we get quality like Redres here. Same for Call. These have potential now.

Engine will probably be too slow all the same, but it's cute.

We also have these, but not as convincing. Red Carpet definitely gets a buff from Redres and Wyvern, if the latter comes out well.

Honestly, best jack support we've ever gotten

To be fair, Black, Resonator Engine was never a bad card, per say, because it lets you search ANY Level 4 monster.

Just... Resontors dont give a s*** about the Graveyard, and as such, it's been hard to properly fuel it.

It's per se, though you did use it correctly.

So theyvsically built Red Sprinter into this guy, which gives me high hopes for the rest of Jack's mojo.

Wait? How did I not notice that this is FIRE with 200 DEF?

It's a better Laval than most Lavals!

Use it with Firedog for free 1900+ life, go into Red Wyvern, ???

You can be fancy with this combo + Rekindling = 2 Nothungs, go into M7 or Strike Bounzer right off the bat. 1600 damage + a potential 1000 more or a nice recycling of Red sounds nice

Psyhemuth is very good right now, and Metaphys Horus is absurdly strong with Pendulums. Nothung's not bad, either, and Red Wyvern will surely get a buff, and hopefully come out well. And Vulcan is strong in the right decks.

Another particularly strong note is that this guy really synergizes with Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Horse Prince, as a means to gain LP/set up more and get a beater. Not a general use, but a specific one that CAN be good value.

A deck like Clownblade could very realistically run this, though less likely TCG-side given that the Star Seraph Engine and (in the near future) Norden exist.Even then, this card makes Star Seraph Sovereignty not suck as much, and it does work with Scepter, it's just a matter of Extra Deck space. This could easily replace Kagetokage, due to being stronger every turn except T1, and King Feral, but that's only 1 ED slot.

Still, this card has a lot of synergy with that deck:

  • Gets dead Tricklown/Thousand Blades or Damajugglers out of the hand for value

  • Can be revived by CotH/Soul Charge (not that charge is especially great in clowns) to recover a decent or better amount of LP (usually), which is stupidly good in Clownblade, given  how much LP you pay to Clowning.

  • Level 2 tuner makes some decent things, and with a hatricker on hand makes Leo, which wins some matchups almost on-the-spot. Nothung seems particularly strong here, given how OTK happy the deck is.

  • If Higurumi is any indicator, the Pendulums for this deck will be decent or better, because Higurumi is amazing when you consider that Wavering Eyes and Dracoslayer Luster Pendulum exist. And 2+4 = Metaphys Horus.

It also could see usage in Majespecter, potentially, given that it speeds the deck up by giving them Armades/Chanbarider or Horus/Vulcan/etc. while setting effects off early. The LP gain likely won't happen there, but yeah.

It's also been considered as a possible aroma addition in the future, but idk if I like that one.

This is a strong generic card, but it will be underrated by most players because of other cards of its ilk, such as Tinplate Goldfish, Goblindbergh, and Marauding Captain.

The noteworthy things here are the following:

  • The SS from hand effect: Doesn't cause missed timing like Goblindbergh does, so it allows full value.

  • The LP gain: Barring Odd-Eyes, this + Call of the Haunted can just stop an attack and take 600 damage. Doesn't say /your/ monster anywhere. Oasis of Dragon Souls does the same, but with this in DEF. Sure, on-kill effects exist, but blocking lethal damage is still value. Furthermore, decks like Clownblade adore the LP gain, as they need it to continue plays and/or survive.

  • Tuner: This is as good as an effect, basically, which means it theoretically has 2 extra effects on top of the SS. Also of note, unlike most tuners, this one does the setting up. Where most tuners try to be strong cards that depend on other monsters to do the setting up, which can lead to 'blank cards' in some form or fashion that /just/ summon, this does the setting up. Which means that the non-Tuners can be the power cards. If you consider that floaters and value cards (searchers, on-summon removal/effects, etc.), this means it does a lot, despite doing so little on its own.

  • 200 DEF and FIRE: Just in case.

All in all, this card is deceptively incredible. It may not see usage for now, but it will sometime for sure.

Only problem with Clownblade at this time, is that you really can't sacrifice the 3-4 ED slots needed to add the Synchroes

I said as such.

Though, if you're not running the Seraphs for w/e reason, you def have the space.

Oh, another Level 6 Sync option for clownblade could be Tempest Magician.

I'm not quite sure how effective it could be (if at all), as it would completely depend on what cards are in your hand, but just food for thought.

Edit:

As for a possible build:

bK2Zv5M.png

Jutte Knight = Red Resonator

Flash Knight = Performage Higurumi

It looks like it can do pretty well, but I also don't really know much about Clownblade.
