Now, the synergy for this came to me when I saw the field spell, that it gained counters when cards were sent to the grave, and could spend counters to search ritual spells. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was how the Nekroz like to discard themselves, and that they're rituals. But, it didn't stop there. I considered the Gaias and how they triggered on tributed. Well, it just so happens that Valkyrus's draw effect tributes from the hand or field. With that in mind, I crafted the deck with the intention to make use of Valkyrus and get some sick plusses off of Sakuriboh and the Gaia monsters.

 

Of course, problems arise when trying to combine these engines and make them consistent. While the cards work together like that really well, it definitely is a challenge to get it pulled off 100% perfectly. Wins so far have either been some clever combos with the Nekroz (screw you Quasar, my Clausolas says otherwise!) or being able to pull of the BLS combos separately.

Now, the tech to point out is the Vanilla BLS. I wanted another way to be able to tribute both Gaia Knights in one ritual, but how? The Supreme spell demands exact levels, as do the Nekroz spells. BUT, it turns out the old BLS ritual spell does NOT demand exact levels, which means you can use both in one go. Turns out there's a niche for good ol' natural BLS after all.

In the end, this has been a fun experiment and I will be doing some more regarding lowering my numbers for Clausolas and seeing about making the field spell more easily acquired. In the meantime, it has given me a very good idea on how a proper BLS deck should work with all these cards. And surprise, I think the best build will actually be ritual based. I mean, how else are you going to get those Gaia soldiers to trigger?
