Enigma Zero
Since the issue of a 'character' on these forums has come up alot in my experiences, I thought it was about time I created a sig to reflect this. So here it is...Before someone makes the obvious comment...he's left handed so that's why the Duel Disk is on the right. ;) Artwork: The following sig is 95% my artwork, 2% of some cards I found on an image search and reworked heavily to fit into the hand, and 3% the Stop Font. Slash
It looks cool, especially since you did 95% of the artwork :)
II DEFiiNED II
Too much open space, fonts ok, I guess, and the character is terribly rendered.
Enigma Zero
Slash: Thanks. II DEFiiNED II: I'm not picking on your specifically, but you've kinda stepped on one of my 'pet peaves' so don't take all of this too personally. 1. You don't like the amount of open space...so how would you arrange this differently?2. Fonts are fonts so that's not a biggie. 3. Here's the big one that I'll tackle in two points. The 1st point is that this isn't a "render." It's a drawing...as in an image which was created by me. It's sprite art, which is what I mostly do. I could see, upon closer examination, that some of the edges are a little rough and I might go back and rework them...but this is not your run-of-the-mill erasework complaint. There is no erasework to be critiqued in the 1st place. The 2nd point is my pet peave. As I said before, there are no "renders" in my sig. There are no "renders" on roughly 98.74% of this forum(maybe more). To my knowledge I've never seen a "render" on this forum at all(correct me if I'm wrong). The problem here is that most people don't know what a "render" really is and have taken to the habit of calling a picture that's been taken from the internet and had some erasework done to it a "render." As widely acceptable as this practice has become...it's still wrong. A "render" is a 3d rendering of an object. To further drive my point home I will now show you an actual render that I did a few years ago... This is a rendering I did of The Green Lantern(Kyle Rayner to be more specific). To be more precise, this is a screenshot of a render from it's various angles. You see, an actual render can be turned and repositioned because it's a 3d object. I do, however, appologize that(in this picture) the edges came out weird on this one. The actual render has very smooth edges. What most people refer to as a "render" is actually a "crop" or just an "image" that's had some erasework done to it. As I previously stated, this informative(and rather longwinded post) is not meant to be an attack against any one person. It's more of a wasteful attempt to correct the widely acceptable misuse of a word. This concludes my pet-peave based mini-rant.
