Thar
Meaning what's the range between your absolute favorite genre of music to your least favorite? Or if you're particularly variant in your taste for music, what is your range of genres that you like?
Susie
i tend to jump a lot through various styles of Metal and Hardcore though i also like to dig through different forms of Electronic music and even some Rap/Hip-Hop. i also quite frequently enjoy the old school Gothic Rock/Post-Punk style stuff as well as Post-Rock and certain Prog Rock stuff. i think my favorite genre is definitely Post-Hardcore and my range in Post-Hardcore would have to go from the original 90s stuff up to around 2005, really cant stand 90% of modern Post-Hardcore bands, to me most of them sound very generic and boring and are also really grating to sit through. Tourmaline
I like music from very classical Romantic era stuff (Chopin, Liszt, even Schubert and some of Rachmaninoff is brilliant despite him not being from precisely the Romantic era) to almost any kind of Japanese eurobeat I hear. I also like gothic rock and metal as an expression of Victorian admiration (note when the Romantic era took place and even my own name). Video game music is too wide to force into anything beyond an umbrella term but finds absolute depth akin to pure melody much of the time by transcending lyrics. I also really like how some jazz melodies sound. Not as a genre but for the qualities the genre holds in melody. Romantic is my favorite though. .Rai
Pretty much everything and anything (as my music thread may indicate). That said, I have a pop and soul bias, and listen to less hardcore stuff.
VampireofDarkness
Anything that isn't modern country (Looking at you Florida Georgia Line) or really heavy metal (I can take some Death Metal, but more melodical stuff like In Flames) My iPod itself ranges from Ed Sheeran to Kanye West to Slipknot to Two Steps from Hell to Armin van Buuren. My preferred genre or track shifts by the hour, and I tend to have a frequent shifting playlist of about 50 songs in each of my main genres. However, it being the primary music I get payed to make, the electronic music scene, particularly the Electro House, Trap, and Trance scenes, is where my main preference lies. Monstercat and Anjunabeats to me are my preferred labels, with the upcoming Wolv Records being another notable one.

Zauls
I mostly listen to prog rock/metal and experimental extreme metal. I'm also partial to classical and jazz fusion. I can listen to anything, though, as long as its not rap or the majority of pop.
Death Bishop
I have the most varying range of music taste. I am completely infatuated with the 1950s era. Elvis Presley is an absolute legend in my opinion. I also like old school rap like The Notorious B.I.G and 2pac. And just when you think it couldn't become any more weird, I also have a taste for Metal.
Metalhead Dragon
Of course its all metal soooo if I had to rank genres to genre Id go Favorites:Technical death metaldeathcoreprogressive metalatmospheric black metaltechnical thrash metal (also thrash with progressive metal influence)slamming brutal death metal I Dont Prefer These:Metalcore (Melodic metalcore is great though)Djent (I call it math metal)Beatdown hardcore (otherwise known as downtempo for some reason)GoregrindEarly Grindcore 2nd wave black metal (Although Burzum and Emperor are legit) Genres I am unfamiliar with so not rating:Doom metalOld school death metalThrash metalFolk metal (and Pagan metal) As for anything outside of metal, I usually like it unless its radio music, meaning stuff that plays over and over on the radio, because it is usually bad, generic, and only made to be catchy. Mave
It's a hard choice, I'm not familiar with every single genre, but I'll give some examples of what kinds of music I really love :3 Favourites: • Alternative Rock I have so much bands and artists I listen to every single day, but a great part of them is from the "Alternative Rock" genre, like 30 Seconds to Mars and Panic! At The Disco. Both of them are one of my favourite bands of all time. I've been listening to 30STM since 2010 or something, my dad showed my the music video of "Closer To The Edge", and I felt in love with their deep songtexts, great sound and their appearance, they are so good on stage. P!ATD is "newer" to me, I've been listening to Brendon Urie and his band for almost 2 years. I love Fall Out Boy as well, they mean very much to me, even if they're more Emo & Rock to me, I guess they also belong here. • Rock (any kind) I grew up with e-guitars, loud and emotional voices and dramatic texts, when I was three I had a total crush on any rock music video on MTV, haha. My favourites are Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, Breaking Benjamin, even if I'm sure they belong in many other genres as well. Oh, and also the old songs from Green Day (in fact 21st Century Breakdown album and American Idiot) • Metal I've always liked the "big brother" Metal, since I'm in a relationship with Button, who's a metalhead, I love it more and more. I totally love Bring Me The Horizon and Black Veil Brides, but also Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold (thanks to my little brother who introduced them to me), Within Temptation, Bullet For My Valentine, Rise Against ... lol, just noticed that Metal seems to be my favourite genre? Haha. I don't know: • Covers I became a huge fan of Pop-Goes-Punk-Like songs on YouTube, with the magic of Rock, Punk and Metal every Pop song can become great, haha. One of my favourites is Ghost Killer Entertainment. • Classic I love Yiruma, Chopin and stuff like that, their music makes me feel happy and satisfied, they understand my feelings, kind of. Madsen
Pretty much everything and anything (as my music thread may indicate). The Amazing Avian
For a while now, I've been listening to like every genre of music with jazz/funk/soul being a preference. That said, I tend to stay away from the really hardcore varieties of metal.
Shradow
I like pretty much anything except for country and super heavy screamo stuff (for example I really like OLDCODEX but probably wouldn't listen to anything too far past that). My favorites are definitely classical/orchestral/symphonic/etc., classic rock, and j-pop/rock.
