evilfusion
There's a very limited number of cards that can Summon it. It relies on your LP being lower to gain ATK, and only gains the difference, but if it does gain ATK, it deals no damage that turn. And it can't attack directly, so its massive ATK will only do so much. The effort needed to Summon it is nowhere near worth it.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Not really. This card can only be Special Summoned by 3 cards: Queen Dragun Djinn, Hieratic Dragon King of Atum, and Number 46: Dragluon.Djinn is probably the best bet, as it will negate its effects, so while it won't gain ATK, it can attack directly, and Djinn will make sure you can't destroy Soul Drain by battle. However, Soul Drain will be unable to attack that turn.Atum makes Soul Drain's ATK become 0, but allows for its effect to trigger to regain that ATK, so if your LP is pretty low, you can make it up easily.Dragluon has no drawbacks, save for it needing to be the only monster you control, but it lets you use Soul Drain right out of the gate. But really, this is just a rather gimmicky card that is pretty dead in any other situation. - Minimania -
DNA Surgery Would it work with that?
Toffee.
I REALLY hate how it has that 'cant attack directly' clause. It's far too oddly specific to be any good as it is.
玄魔の王
I think this is one of the few cards to be nerfed as hard as Ra. In the anime, it has no summon conditions, gained ATK equal to the oppponent's current Life, and burned them for half its current ATK if destroyed. ihop
DNA Surgery Would it work with that? I mean, it would, but Queen Dragun Djinn is probably the best way of summoning this out of like, basically any Xyz monster no matter what. Still lame. DuelSpectre
> Didn't know this card existed.> Thought it was a Critias monster of Soul Drain.> It wasn't.> Dissappointed. Is this card even on DN?
Premier Alexander Romanov
It is on DN. It was used by the guy who used Dragluon.
Sleepy
DNA Surgery Would it work with that? Since it was sort of already answered, I have another question about this one:What non-Dragon Xyzs that could Summon are even out there if they were to become Dragon-Type by an effect like DNA Surgery? There must be something but my mind can't come up with anything. Synchronized
It's so bad. It should have had built-in protection to card effects at the very least. There's just no reason to invest that much into it.
Sleepy
Mostly all these kinds of hard to Summon monsters in the game I've always thought should instead have been non-nomi ones with their effect only live when Summoned their X way as an extra choice. It'd allow decks to actually fall back on something when they try to build around them... In this case, an easily Summonable type at 4k.... I don't think Obelisk would be measured by the same stick due to the difference in support, so not sure what to think.
heraldry_lord
The simple answer is No. The more complex answer is that it's tricky to Summon, has too many restrictions, and has no protection. As a result, it's not worth the effort.
BlackBeartic
Card is ass. It's sad because i had really hoped it wouldn't be nerfed so hard.
goodfusion
It should of been called "Skill Drain Dragon" because it might work with it.
Yemachu
Since it was sort of already answered, I have another question about this one:What non-Dragon Xyzs that could Summon are even out there if they were to become Dragon-Type by an effect like DNA Surgery? There must be something but my mind can't come up with anything. From what I could find, these four would be capable of summoning it:Magi Magi ☆ Magician Gal: Requires "Soul Drain Dragon" to be in the opponent's Graveyard; basically useless for this cause.Crimson Knight Vampire Bram: Same as above.D/D/D Wave Overlord Caesar: You must destroy a "Soul Drain Dragon" in either your hand or deck; "Fire King Avatar Yashka" and (an opponent's) "Crush Card Virus" can help with this feat.Number 7: Lucky Straight: Requires you to roll 2 dices, where the result should be 7; a 1 in 6 chance. It has other effects that might be more favourable, not to mention better targets.Out of these options, I would say that "D/D/D Wave Overlord Caesar" is the most reliable, and that one already is extremely gimmicky.
