People arrive from all over Britannia and beyond to see it, dreaming of attending. It is hailed by many the greatest scientific and military institution in the world, the accomplishments of its students are legendary and their names plastered across the pages of history.

With a slight bounce in her gait, Elizabeth Frankenstein stepped off the airship at the Scholomance Airport, and grabbed her suitcase from her porter. She had packed light and would withdraw money later from the bank to buy herself new clothes and necessities; she felt it would be only right to have new things when starting her new life. From behind her on the airship came the clinking of metal on the ground as a robotic puppy came bounding after her excitedly. It breathed steam as it jumped and ran around Elizabeth's legs, panting, drawing the attention of all the bystanders around them. Such lifelike automaton behavior was unheard of, and Elizabeth smiled proudly at the amazement of the crowd. She was off to a good start, she thought to herself, and her nervousness of stepping out of her family estate on her own for the first time evaporated.

Founded seven hundred years ago in a small Eldarian village, it transformed its host town into a gathering place for men of power and learning. Over the course of hundreds of years, drastic changes took place within it and its surroundings. It became the site of conflict and strife, but ultimately the little town it was founded in grew into a massive city.

Scholomance as a city was very impressive, although incomparable in size to the capital of Britannia, Camelot, which she had visited before with her family, it had prospered greatly during the period of arts renaissance that hit the continent hundreds of years ago thus the architecture was quite exquisite, if not a bit garish for her tastes. It was a bustling metropolis in its own right, and there were people everywhere rushing to and fro. Elizabeth felt lost, she was unused to such busyness having been mostly confined to her family's manor in the countryside. For a moment, she worried she came off as a country bumpkin, but then she erased such pointless worries from her mind as she quite a tram towards her destination.

After Britannia's conquest of Eldaria over one hundred years ago, it updated its functions to become a grand military academy for the training of the Knight-Operators, the empire's elite fighters in Britannia's rampant world conquest. No matter how it had changed, however, it always maintained its integrity as a place of higher learning... as well as kept the influences of its dark history.

She was going to become a soldier, at least for her three-year compulsory Britannian military service, so there were more pressing things for her than how she might appear to the random passerby. Although her connections as a member of nobility kept her safe, there was still always the danger that she would not return. As the tram steadily headed towards the heart of town, Elizabeth sat unaware that her destination could be just as dangerous as any battlefield. She suddenly stood up as, from the distance, its massive brass gates were already visible. Instead of fear, she found herself excited. This was it, her life at the greatest school in the world would soon begin.

This great institution, borrowing the name of the legendary inventor turned god of knowledge, is called...

She stared apprehensively until she could read the words on the gateway. Spelled out in large brass letters was...

Daedalus College.

Daedalus College is legendary among the Holy Empire of Britannia’s military academies for training the Knight-Operators, elite soldiers that control automatons on the battlefield, and it is the best even in other fields of education. It is a very old institution steeped in mystery, and despite its important place in Britannia’s plans to conquer the world, very few people know what goes on within its brass gates. Admission fees are exorbitant, but the College seems to almost randomly select applicants, regardless of age, to receive scholarships to study there. You are one of those lucky people to be able to attend the greatest school in the world.

The roleplay will focus predominantly on first-years at Daedalus College, and all roleplayers are required to create at least one first-year student unless they discuss it with me. Daedalus College is a very tough school with a ninety percent dropout rate, but those who survive are said to be completely reborn as heroes or leaders. This is will be a fast-paced RP with plenty of action and drama. There will be various things going on at the College as I have various plot arcs planned, but the specialty of this RP is that you are free to actually just do your own thing, within reason. In fact, I encourage your freedom to do anything from creating clubs to pulling practical jokes on other students and teacher, but I also encourage that you discuss things with me just in case. If you are falling behind chronologically, I will help you wrap things up.

First things first, I have final say regarding all things in this roleplay, my authority supersedes that of any co-hosts I may have as well. You are allowed to debate any decisions I make, but if I say something is final, there is to be no further discussion. I am free to modify these rules as I please, although I will typically notify you all if anything about the roleplay has changed.

All rules of YCM apply to this roleplay unless otherwise stated. All IC posts must be at least 100 words (approx. 4 lines) in length. Avoid godmodding, metagaming, or powerplaying. Do not copy your characters from other roleplays before modifying them first to suit this RP. You cannot use other people’s characters from other works without their permission. Please respect your fellow roleplayers and yourself, and do not act aggressively or troll. Keep your common sense about you at all times.

There will be a Skype chat put up, but for asking questions about the roleplay, please use the OoC thread. This way, your questions and my answers can be seen by everyone.

This is an animesque roleplay, so associated tropes will likely apply. I ask that any reference images used also be animesque. However, exaggerations used in animation such as chibis do not translate well, in my opinion, to the written medium hence I ask that you do not use them, this is still a literary work. To prove that you have read these rules and the plot summary thoroughly, please tell me somewhere in your app, out of ten students, how many people are likely to drop out of Daedalus College.

Most important of all in this roleplay, have fun and make sure everyone else has fun as well~

The following is a very barebones application skeleton to tell you what you need in your application.

[spoiler=Personality]Despite being eighteen, Zeta still has the mind of a child in many aspects, partially as a result of being sheltered most of his life while at the Crescent Isles, cut off from all other countries. Upon having arrived at Britannia, almost everything was a brand new sight, and arriving in a completely different world was like stepping into a fantasy land for Zeta. He gets fascinated by many things which may seem mundane to the citizens and takes pleasure in small things that others may consider everyday. Because of this, in combination with his young and feminine appearance, many can mistake him as a lot younger than he actually is. Similar to a child, Zeta has little understanding of things behind what he learned directly - via textbooks or the like - and can behave very naïve at times. Susceptible to tricks due to how gullible he is, it can often end up in unfortunate - and sometimes amusing - situations as a result of his lack of understanding.

Another thing to note is that despite his circumstances of birth, he does not flaunt or brag about it, nor does he care to. A kind person at heart - although too vivacious at times - Zeta honestly means well usually. Zeta also really enjoys jokes and other small-time pranks meant to lighten the mood, but because of his inability to read the situation, every now and then, he sometimes ends up biting off more than he can chew. He is also not much of a person to follow procedures and strict rules. Even while he had still been at the Crescent Isles, Zeta often searched for and played with other commoners, not liking how uptight and stuffy all the royal business and nobles were - much to the disapproval of his noble parents. Also, a flaw with Zeta is that because he is quite headstrong when he decides on a course of action, it can come off as defiant or rude sometimes when others try to - failingly - persuade him otherwise. Zeta also ends up in "less than favorable" scenarios from time to time because of his lack of tendency to think plans through sometimes.

Having arrived at the Empire of Britannia - even if it was by accident, Zeta plans to make the most of it. But first of all, it's time to make some friends, teehee~!

H6CegEZ.png
[spoiler=Backstory]As expected of someone born from the sole brother of the Shogun and a high-ranking noblewoman, while there were many amenities that commoners would only be able to dream of, there were also the many, many expectations and strict procedures, rules, and guidelines that came along with it. Because of his parents' status and the fact that Zeta himself could potentially become the heir if the current heir died or was otherwise unable to ascend, there were many social expectations and lessons of etiquette that he was forced to learn. Ranging from the proper folding direction and buttoning of clothes to the correct angles of bows to use with a person, Zeta's studies of etiquette encompassed just about everything involved with appearing polite. Zeta was still a child though, and as such, he had some free time in his younger years. Much to the disapproval of his parents however, Zeta often went down to the villages where the commoners resided, often leading to scolding and reprimanding and bans from venturing out several times. Despite realizing Zeta was uncomfortable with how rigidly formal the nobles and their customs could be, socializing with the low-ranking commoners was just not something one of Zeta's status did, especially considering he was a direct cousin of the heir himself.

As Zeta grew older, his lessons began to lengthen as they broached more and more topics, as well as increasing his depth of knowledge on each topic. By the age of ten, he was taking courses in mathematics, physics, language, psychology, sociology, economics, history, etiquette, grooming for the throne as a backup heir, Anima, and swordsmanship. Absolutely inundated with work, Zeta's free time began to grow smaller and smaller as study sessions grew inversely in duration. With his mentor assisting in lessons, even when Zeta had trouble or struggled with several units, they were able to manage to get over it together without much of a hitch. In his own opinion, Zeta enjoyed classes about Anima and automaton work by far the most, partially because it had made him feel almost superhero-like. Having unlocked the potential to naturally use and wield Anima since birth because of his blood, they were one of the earliest classes that the boy had begun to take, partially out of self-interest and partially due to his parents. Along with Anima classes, swordscraft classes were Zeta's second favorite, due to being able to synchronize well with the power he felt from being able to fight. Although he was proficient in all his other courses, Zeta completely blasted through his courses between Anima and swordsmanship. The combination of his natural talent and a tireless will driven by his motivation for fun ended up proving to be quite effective. Although his parents began to vanish for longer and longer periods of time because of their increasingly larger workload as someone so high in the Karakuri Shogunate, while Zeta felt lonely from time to time, the rigorous lessons helped put him back at ease.

By the age of fifteen, what was considered to be the age of passing from a boy into a man, Zeta was taken to the royal armory by the Treasurer, to judge if he would prove himself worthy of ownership of any of the Daedalus Tools within. The heir to the throne had done the same, matching with the Heavenly Daedalus Artifact, the Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, passed down through the direct royal bloodline for generations. Even considering his still relatively royal bloodline, astonishingly, Zeta ended up gravitating towards the Honjo Masamune, one of the next great Daedalus Artifacts within the Grand Treasury. Bonding with it near immediately, this led to an even more intense rate of work-speed within Zeta's Anima and swordscraft classes, especially so, now that the two of them could be combined due to the presence of this sword. Sharpening his Anima skills and learning how to channel the flow through his newfound sword, Zeta developed a technique which he dubbed as "Blade Arc." Every day from that point forwards, the new combined class would be enough to leave Zeta exhausted at the end of the day. In return, Zeta's level of synchronization with the Honjo Masamune grew to the point it was essentially an extension of his own body, able to wield it near effortlessly, by the age of seventeen. While his fuel-burning fighting style was still an issue, wielding the weapon itself was now no longer an issue for him. At this point, Zeta was well groomed and trained in just about everything he needed to know to perform his duties and maintain his appearance for someone of his role and status as well as a capable fighter, worthy of being the heir's right-hand man. While his time to visit the commoners as he once used to was now precious rare, and carried an invisible mark of shame for those who dared to do so, Zeta didn't mind, and still snuck out from time to time, dressed in casual clothes to avoid suspicion and detection. These were the times when he could really be fully open about himself and be able to laugh and talk without having to worry about all the customs and etiquette that came along in the royal courts.

One night six months later, after a particularly brutal session of training which left Zeta dead on his feet to stumble back slowly to his home, his tiredness had blurred his mind, causing him to miss the turns he should've taken before taking them all too late. When he finally came to, he was standing in the middle of nowhere, his hands against a massive, chained-off door which seemed almost like any other door, except it was standing by itself in the ground, with nothing behind it. His curiosity flaring and revitalizing his energy, he ignored all the little voices in his head screaming warnings at him, his feelings that this could lead to something fun taking priority. Although the chains were apparently enchanted as well as being extraordinarily durable, Zeta had been well trained in the workings of Anima and the tools made with it. Searching into it mentally and reaching out with his own Anima, as he had learned, he saw into the workings of the various locks. The ridiculously high level of security and inter-locking parts only served to feed his excitement further, instead of acting as a warning sign. At first, he tried to pick away at the locks one by one, before realizing that unlocking one would lock another. Searching into the mechanism itself though and visualizing it within his mental map, he disassembled the parts of the lock that were responsible for the re-locking. From there on, taking each lock apart was relatively easier, although it still took a while. Working away, all the locks eventually silently fell to the ground after a few hours. Standing back to appreciate his work, Zeta pushed open the massive doors only to be greeted by a blinding light. After his eyes adjusted, he realized he was staring into another part of the world, probably on the opposite side of the globe, given it was day-time there. The implications of what he saw dawning upon him, he realized this could be the ultimate escapade. No one would realize where he'd go, and he'd be able to work his way through as a regular person, without all the stuffy royalty and customs in his way. His excitement blotting out his sense of reason and logic, Zeta leapt through, closing the doors shut behind him.

Immediately plunging through the sky, he realized that the door opened up well off the ground, most likely to avoid detection. Barely avoiding breaking his bones with a catroll at the last second, Zeta ended up tumbling across the ground until he crashed into another person. Not the best way to start off his new time in a new land. Apologizing and hurrying on, that's when he realized he had no understanding of the language at all, nor their customs, which seemed to be entirely different. Spending the next week awkwardly traveling from place to place within the city he had made his landing in - which turned out to be Scholomance, he learned about the existence of Daedalus College. Despite wanting to enter, with practically no knowledge of English or the customs or anything about Britannia or how things went just in general, he was handily rejected, a novel experience for the first time in his life. Instead of getting furious however, realizing there was nothing he could do about it, he decided to instead get himself to the point he'd be able to join. After realizing that the Anima and Daedalus Tools were similar in both countries by spying on others in Britannia, namely the soldiers and their practice regimes, the only hurdle left was to learn English.

Quickly realizing that it was far from being easy, as it had first seemed, with its making of rules and then an utter disregard to following them, Zeta was almost completely lost, even after attempting to learn by the classic immersion-style route. The characters themselves for writing and reading were completely alien, as were the rules for the language in general. Attempting to talk to people usually only got an annoyed response before brushing him off, but every now and then, there were a few nice people who wouldn't mind having an - awkward - chat with him to try and help him get used to Britannia better. Learning English slowly but surely, although Zeta inevitably came across some troubles such as tenses, grammar, and the correct choice of the word to use in a sentence, he began to be able to handle life in Britannia without too much trouble. This wasn't to say others still gave him weird looks at time though.

On his eighteenth birthday, Zeta decided that he was now ready to try and apply for Daedalus College again. He got the suspicion the headmasters of the school knew where he was truly from, but unsure of how that could hurt him, he shrugged it off, hoping for the best. A few weeks later, he ended up getting a letter informing of his acceptance into Daedalus College with a full scholarship. Unsure of what exactly qualified him for the scholarship, Zeta decided to take it anyways, considering maybe it was just some random stroke of good luck. Looking forward to a bright and exciting new adventure at this mysterious and elite academy, Zeta's determined to make his own tale, outside of the Crescent Isles.

H6CegEZ.png
[spoiler=Talents/Abilities][spoiler=Combat Related][spoiler=Weapon]The Honjo Masamune is one of the Crescent Isles' greatest treasures in its armory, for it is one of the few remaining Daedalus Artifacts that have not been lost. The blade is as lustrous as silver, yet is unbreakable by any means except by another tool equal to the power of a Daedalus Weapon or greater. Additionally enchanted to always keep its edge and never chip, the weapon itself is exceedingly high-quality.

However, upon coming into contact with Zeta, the weapon had chosen him as the next successor for its owner, and as such, had bonded with him. As long as Zeta is alive in some fashion, the weapon becomes unusable to anyone except him and him alone. Also, because of the bond, Zeta can "absorb" the blade into his own body to store and/or hide the weapon, as well as utilize a speed-draw like function by "expelling" the weapon out of his body directly into his grasp. The most probable method for this is most likely via the existence a small separate storage dimension that this sword could perhaps link to, letting the owner store and call it at will. If the blade happens to exit the owner's grasp, all they must do is to simply will the blade back at which point it will re-materialize in the owner's location.

The weapon's power however is a very unusual one, as it has no specific power in itself. It is upon, and only after bonding with a being that the weapon can gain a power. Synchronizing with its owner in perfect harmony, it brings forth a natural talent of theirs which would be boosted best by a possible skill, and then manifests its power as that of what would best suit the new owner. As a result, the power of the blade itself often shifts throughout the generations of owners.

With Zeta, the Honjo Masamune's power manifested as something that Zeta decided to dub "Blade Arc". Blade Arc is a technique where his sword splits into eight floating copies of itself which can then be controlled with something akin to telekinesis, which is done by "resonating" with the owner's Anima for the movements. The eight copies then align themselves outwards in a circle formation, each blade pointing outward, almost like a cross between swords, a halo, and wings. From there, Zeta can whip the blades around, slashing, stabbing, and cutting at incredible speeds without even having to use his hands. Due to the fact that he is able to control all eight of the copies separately while working all of them at the same time, this makes for a highly deadly power, because the weapons are now no longer restricted by having to be wielded by physical hands.

[spoiler=Fighting Style]Zeta's fighting style is a bombardment-style speedblitz approach, where he capitalizes on extremely high levels of agility and acrobatics in combination with blazing levels of speed. Unlike any formal fighting style however, this is one that he developed himself after researching multiple martial art styles and picking out what suited him. Mixing that with his own unconventional ideas, his style of fighting is quite unlike any other. With little regard to formal stances, Zeta focuses on adaptability and speed to chop away at the enemy's reserves with fast and moderately powerful blows, one after another. Continuing upon this, Zeta aims to break down defenses and prevent them from regaining one. In general, if he fights with his sword, he'll fight with his own hands, because that is usually enough to overwhelm most average opponents. If Zeta is either extremely excited or pressed into a corner though and goes all out for one reason or another, it'd be likely he would then use Blade Arc to try and utterly decimate the enemy.

Now, there are several strengths of this fighting style. The primary one would be how unconventional it is. Due to Zeta's flexibility paired with his reaction speeds, he can make absolutely unnatural attacks or dodges from postures that would seem impossible to do anything with. Someone who's not well-prepared to quickly attempt adapting would have a hard time trying to land a hit on Zeta, as well as avoid getting hit. The second strength is that because of how fast this bombardment approach to attacking is, it drives enemies back out of sheer momentum, breaking down defenses and concentration before breaking in to make sure they can't regain their stability. The third strength is that because of how fast Zeta attacks, it essentially turns into a hailstorm onslaught from just about every possible direction, meant to eat away at an opponent's endurance.

There are also critical weaknesses, however. Because Zeta's body itself is of a lithe build, landing power hits is hard even when combined with proper training to maximize efficiency. As a result, stronger opponents could attempt to tank blows before lashing back out with a counter attack. Next, as expected of an insanely fast-paced battle style such as this, it eats away at Zeta's own endurance - and quickly at that. Thus, long, drawn-out fights are detrimental to his success, as he aims to achieve victory before the clock runs out. Finally, once Zeta hits the tiredness mark and his reserves begin to be drained, rather than fully thinking out his moves, he entrusts the motions to his muscle memory and instinct. However, as with anything, neither of those two are always correct. If someone can bait Zeta properly in this state, it could result in him overextending or making an all-too risky attack before he realizes the danger fast enough. Also, because tiredness eats away at Zeta's body, even while in that autopilot mode, his movements will continue to drop in quality and power, with his reaction speed taking longer and longer as time passes. Eventually, even this autopilot mode won't support him anymore, and Zeta will be completely unable to fight with no strength left at all.

Outside of his excitement for battle, Zeta has a few other talents he's fairly proud of. Proficient to a general extent with many music instruments, he prefers to play calm and soothing types of songs. His favorite instrument is the flute, as a result of the soft and airy sound it can produce. However, for some reason, Zeta gets quite embarrassed if anyone notices, and for that reason plays by himself. It's not too uncommon to hear a gentle flute telling its story however, if one happens to wake up at night. Because of most other people usually being asleep then, Zeta tends to head to the roof or a similar place to play music and calm himself down and make himself happy only when the moon is up.

Elizabeth Frankenstein

Sex: Female

Age: 17

Height: 170 cm

Role: First Year

Personality

Elizabeth is what people call a proper young Britannian lady. She is polite and smiles easily, and is perfectly at home in social situations, even if she finds them a little tiring. Despite being a part of the aristocracy, Elizabeth is perceptive enough to recognize prejudices nobles hold tend to be false and is open-minded and willing to approach others, regardless of physical appearances, talent, ethnicity, or social status. Her accepting and cordial nature, in addition to her beauty and talent, can easily draw others towards her.

Although "friends" come to her easily, she does not hold very much commitment towards them, and seldom bothers spending time with others. It is not easy for her to form bonds with anyone, unless they have truly earned her respect and/or gratitude, marking them as an object of interest to her. A scientist at heart, curiosity seems to be her main motivator and she tends to lose interest in someone after she feels she has mostly figured out their personality and antics or she has seen their like before. Elizabeth is quite arrogant and actually subconsciously views most people as beneath her; they are all just intelligent monkeys in her mind, and even she herself is just an especially brilliant animal, still driven by similar whims and emotion. Due to this, she does not hold much emotion regarding the deaths of people she does not know or really care about. She cares little for the war and her only desire is to pursue her research and interests.

Ultimately, Elizabeth is still a naive and sheltered girl, she has yet to really go through hardships or know pain; she has yet to experience love or hatred. There a great many things she is not used to dealing with, she has always had it easy with her station in life and natural genius, thus she has never faced a situation where she lost her composure or needed the help of others.

Biography

Although born as the illegitimate daughter of the Frankenstein family, Elizabeth was able to live happily under the care of her mother and paternal grandparents who took her in after her father disappeared before he had even realized he had made a servant girl pregnant. Elizabeth wholeheartedly devoted herself to a life of learning like her father, ignoring the vapidness of the relatives who looked down upon her and her mother. She inherited her father's genius, and became a talented engineer and Anima user capable of designing her own automaton.

Ah, is there a projected start date for this? I imagine it wouldn't start before the end of the month, which is important because I'm interested, but my internet has a chance to end up cutting off before the end of the month because of data reasons.

Don't worry, you'll be free to join whenever, I think I'll keep this always accepting.

No projected start date yet, I'm going to see how things roll. I would imagine it wouldn't start this month yes. Alternatively, you can join in whenever and I'll do whatever I can to make your transition into this RP work well.

I'm also totally interested but I have some questions since I don't know anything about this universe besides what the first post says.

So, er, what exactly do you mean by anima?

I know what an automaton is, though.

short version - it's your soul which you can temporary imbue stuff with to do sheet

long version - click on INFO in the OP, it links to a doc with probably way too much lore that you don't actually have to read all of.

[spoiler=Senior Class snob]

”It’s been two years…let’s see if these new meats could impress me this time.”

Personal Information

Name: Altgrafin Caeil Isbeth von Ramillies
Age: 21
Sex: Female
Date of Birth: March 7th

Position: Third Year Senior Snob

[spoiler=Appearance]

827c32550c44d62173b81e0f1e12cb0b1dc21d96
5’7’’ height, 120 lbs weight. Gliederfüßer not shown.

[spoiler=Personality]

Even though she has a noble blood flowing inside her, her usual inelegant, extremely brash and shameless attitude made people easily overlook that well-known fact. It’s not that she had no idea at all about manners; she just didn’t see it as important. Granted, after a while of living outside of her homeland, she did develop enough common sense to at least respect others with her manners when necessary.

She doesn’t really care about planning and all the desk works; she prefers to build things by trial and error, using her natural talent and extensive knowledge about machineries to construct something of her desire.  She rarely speaks to people since she admitted that she had almost zero skill when it comes to social interaction as a human being, but when she does, expect the conversation to shift into a one-hour lecture on which type of lubes is the best for automatons, or other similar things. It’s really because she just feel that she could interact and relate to machines better than with people. At first she’s really apathetic to people but actually getting out of her sheltered life requires her to shed that mindset and try to at least be acceptable enough to others.

She prefers to keep most of whatever she has created to herself, whether successes or failures, mainly because she often thinks that her creation is still imperfect no matter how good they seem, and showing imperfection would tarnish her (almost non-existent) public image. As for failures, it’s simply due to the fact that she’ll need to learn about where they fails and what kind of things she could salvage from that failure. Because of this refusal to show her products to others, she often looks like she’s all work and no results, which once created a spark between her and her family back during the time she’s still in her home, until she perfected her true masterpiece as a proof of her being seriously interested in becoming a Knight-Operator.

The most obvious sign of her noble blood is her massive pride and arrogance, although being in a place filled with geniuses, her arrogance had been toned down slightly. Still, she regards a lot of her peers as just some babbling fools that have no idea about the beauty of machineries, and she often regards other engineers as try-hard amateurs. This behavior is another reason why she prefers to be alone, since she believed that those kind of people doesn’t deserve her valuable time. Although, after some experiences that she had, she’s willing to be more accepting and friendly to others. Granted, she only will do this if the person in question is worthy enough to be respected by her.

[spoiler=Backstory]

Born as the first daughter of a noble family from a puppet country under Brittania’s rule, she was the legitimate successor of her father, and thus, she received the education needed to be a good noble. As she grew up though, it started to be apparent that she had no desires to inherit her family’s land as a noble and prefers to be a Knight-Operator just like her uncle. Despite their initial disapproval and surprise, they finally agreed to let her try, on one condition. She must prove that her desire to be a Knight-Operator was not only a product of her whim.

Determined to prove herself, she then immediately proceeded to work hard in her family’s workshop for 2 years, almost never left the place at all, working really hard for days and nights without holidays. After 2 years of no results, her parents thought that they had enough, and decided to take back their part of the deal. But when they entered the workshop, they cannot find Caeil. They were worried that Caeil might have left them forcefully, but then a familiar vice called them from the outside. It was Caeil, flying freely with some form of machinery that resembled an insect’s wing outside.

And thus, her parents finally agreed to let her be enrolled to the prestigious Daedalus Academy. While at first they were intent on just entering it the normal way (with money), it was a pleasant surprise that Caeil was actually eligible for the scholarship program in the academy. With that knowledge, they could let the girl go on her own to reach her desired destiny.

That was two years ago. After two years of studying in the academy, Caeil had become a model student in the eyes of her teachers (attitude aside), and she was able to survive through the time of bad administration and some questionable programs launched by the school (which had since been abolished) without really losing her eyes on her dream. Though, even after these years, she was still unable to keep a friend to herself, and her long-time close rival had recently decided to withdraw from the school due to an unforeseen cause. This made her look forward to the new batch of students, hoping that she could find someone that could fill his role as a rival from them.

[spoiler=Equipments]

[spoiler: Gliederfüßer's stats]
Name: ACX-001-2 Gliederfüßer Mark.II
Classification: Pseudo-automaton exoskeleton.
Size: 85 x 35 centimeters in shell mode, individual arms can reach the length of up to 2 meters each. Wing span in flight mode is 1 meter for each wing (6 of them).
Weight: Around 15 kilograms.
Material: Mainly Titanium.
Description:
The Gliederfüßer is some kind of contraption that looked like a bug's shell in its passive state. When activated, it splits into six segmented legs with sharp edges, just like an insect. Usually however, Caeil activate it all the time, using it as a pseudo exoskeleton to reinforce her limbs’ functions when she’s not utilizing Animus to help her physical function. Each leg has the capability to limitedly shape shift due to the Anima facilitating the metal’s ability to be molded into something else on the fly. Usually, she had them as extra arms and hands to help her tinker with her machines, but she could also turn them into different kinds of melee weapons, from swords to axes to other things. They can also turn into wings, which can be used for Caeil to glide around or to fly with them, using an Anima Core as a way to create thrust. It’s only maintainable for 3 minutes, though. She used to almost dismantle the flight function for something else, but she decided that it’d be worth it to try it again after some promising results.

It is in a way an automaton, even if its function is restricted to only be her exoskeleton, due to how the contraption possessed a link to its user so Caeil get the ability to control its function just as if this contraption was actually a part of her own body. Though even if she was pretty much a fan of the design of this contraption, Caeil’s true intention was to turn this into a full-on body armor that could be activated with a command. She had seen successes testing that form, which she’ll dub as Mk.III, but for now she decided that it’ll be best if she used the tried and true form of the contraption.

 Recently, she had installed a miniature version of Sternenlicht’s Anima-based weaponry to this backpack of hers, which allowed her to generate energy blades from each segmented legs, and turns each of the leg into an Anima rifle. She's still seeking ways to make the contraption more and more powerful and versatile without breaking her back in the process due to the weight, and deciding that the next feature she need is a coffee making device.

[spoiler=Sternenlicht's Stats]
Name: ACX-003-6 Sternenlicht
Classification: Anima-powered Multipurpose Weapon
Length191.4 centimeters
Weight: 6.4 kilograms
Maximum Range: 550 meter
Firing Rate (Breaker Mode): Medium
Battery Life (Breaker Mode): 5 shots
Accuracy (Breaker Mode): Medium
Description:
Started out as a side project of hers that she made on her way from her home country to Britannia, she ended up spending a lot of time with the concept of this weapon, which she found to be pretty intriguing despite a lot of her early failures with the weapon, including one embarrassing incident where she missed a big target during a demonstration to a rival.

The concept of this secret weapon is simple. It focuses the Anima gathered by the Anima Core installed in it into a powerful shot, much like an energy-based gun or rifle. Though…in the end Caeil didn’t really like its design as a rifle since she’s not much of a marksman, and thus, she converted it into a staff-like device and rechristened it as “Sternenlicht”, as a way to whitewash its less than stellar history as a contraption. As a staff, she managed to figure out how to make the energy generated by the Anima Core be utilized as a physical-like blade, turning the staff into a scythe. However, it still carries its original function as a rifle, and to access it Caeil has integrated a transformation function to it. This “Breaker” mode is similar to a hand-carried cannon, with a lot more destructive power than something conventional of that size. The weapon’s recoil is so much that without her exoskeleton anchoring her and strengthening her limbs, it could actually rip her arms apart. The weapon cannot really sustain continuous fire due to its power.

[spoiler=Others]
Two years ago, she modified her goggles into a compound-eye goggles. Still very uncomfortable, but it's useful for what she used it for. She used to have a form of beehive pinpoint barrier system installed on her backpack, but had since dismantled it after being dissatisfied with its lackluster response time.

[spoiler=Talents/Abilities]

Caeil is somewhat an athletic person, she can run for a long distance, but her arm strength actually kind of sucked, so she always relied on her Gliederfüßer for that department. Her main strength lies in her creativity, and after she entered the Academy, her vast knowledge about technology and how they work. Even though there’s not much remarkable things about her actual skills with machinery, her creativity coupled with her dedication and determination made her able to create some highly sophisticated machinery, like the aforementioned Gliederfüßer and its upgrades.

She excels at close combat while not doing that badly in a long-ranged one, and even with the added weight of her Gliederfüßer, she’s still agile enough to run across the battlefield while dodging enemies projectiles.

She dedicated her Anima usage on speed, using it to enhance her reflexes and her movement speed, while also spending some of it to control and buff her Gliederfüßer. Although her ability to utilize Anima was naturally low, she had shown a great aptitude in using Anima towards machinery via the Anima Cores in them, fitting for someone that was said to be closer to machines than human. This level of technopathy made her machineries effectively be external limbs for her, a part and extension of her body. She prefers to fix her machines manually however, even though she could use this to help her. She considers it to be shameful if she had to resort to Anima as a way to fix her creations, citing it as cheating.

[spoiler=Other/Miscellaneous]

[spoiler=Trivia]
-Her favorite food is anything that contains meat, especially steaks.
-Although she rarely flaunted it, she’s stinking rich even for someone from a family of a lesser noble. This is why she could get her hands on Anima Cores even before she was admitted to the Daedalus Academy itself.
-She hates, hates, hates explosives. They’re messy and ruin any chance for her to salvage technologies.
-She always carries a wrench all the time and anywhere she goes. Even in the bathroom or when she's sleeping.
-She aspired to create an automaton that can perfectly imitate life. Not the limited intelligence the usual automaton possessed, but a full-on self-awareness. She was seeking to give machines an actual soul. Although for what reason she was aiming to do this is pretty unclear.
-She only sleeps for around 3 hours or less every day. She prefers to work overnight in a workshop than resting. It’s a miracle that she could manage to be as healthy as she is now, but she realize that even she’ll have a limit when it comes to this.

-Due to her being an academically impressive student, she often gets offered to help some teachers in classes during her free time. And she's been selected to be a part of the freshmen welcoming committee, which she gladly accepted. She's going to make sure the mess in her era's welcoming committee could not be repeated.

-Not a part of any clubs for now, but had been present in some gatherings of the Midnight Caffeine Circle just to look at what the fuss about that club.

-Not looking forward to needing to get her 3 years compulsory military service as a part of a foreign country's army soon.

-9 from 10 people will drop out of the academy due to various reasons. Caeil is not one of those 10.

[spoiler=Combat Style]
She never really think much about her combat style, preferring to use everything she has to pummel the enemies to oblivion no matter what, while dodging or guarding every attack coming at her. She avoids getting herself to be hit by anything, since her body is not quite strong to take those. But she realized, with her Anima spent into her gadgets usability and movement speed, when her gadgets break in the middle of a battle, she's pretty much defenseless.

Mwahahahah.

So, I wonder...can you elaborate more on Daedalus Artifacts compared to the recent-time automatons?

Has been added to doc.

Daedalus Artifacts

Basically any sort of gadget that uses Anima and has magical properties. It's really just super-advanced science that seems like magic, but basically this allows anything to happen in this RP. However, these artifacts are super rare and the government will try to take it from you if they find out you have it.

[spoiler=Oswald Vanderbilt III / Freshman]

vCyMnOh.jpg

"You know something?  I rather like you."

Name: Oswald Vanderbilt III

Age: 23

Sex: Male

[spoiler=Appearance]: AFbxZpT.jpg

Standing at five feet and eleven inches, Oswald is seen as average in height.  Though he may as well be six feet, he still tends to tower over others.  He weighs in at a smooth but rather heavy 81kg, with a moderate amount of muscle behind his frame.  He has very soft, warm eyes that are a deep blue.  He dislikes cutting his hair, and so it is somewhat lengthy as it reaches the nape of his neck.  To take attention away from it, he often wears a blue driver's hat.  He admires its sporty look.  He dresses sharp, often wearing long sleeves and tie with a snazzy blue vest and cufflinks.

[spoiler=Personality]  Outspoken is not a word that would accurately describe Oswald.  While he does speak his mind, he is rather reserved in his opinion, not likely to find quarrels.  He prefers to find a mutual standpoint where he can meet his opposition midway.  He is however, very endearing and encouraging.  Though he won't seek to go all out for himself, he will do his very best for his allies.  He also loves the outdoors.  If given the opportunity to hike or explore, he will take it.  Things like fishing, swimming, working with the hands in anyway, really appeals to Oswald.  With that in mind, he is not one for machinery.  Though Automotons are interesting, he dislikes them as a whole.  He does not want to rely on anyone for help, and feels and automoton would become a crutch.  He has never owned one, nor does he seek to purchase one or build one in the future.

[spoiler=Biography]  Oswald is Dutch, and hails from Holland.  A younger brother, he lived in a household of 4, with 3 men all being Oswald Vanderbilt.  He grew up with a very average life.  His parents weren't the brightest in their community, but they were by no means ignorant.  They were both hardworking farmers, preferring to work with their hands than to rely on a machine they were unfamiliar with.  Oswald spent much of his childhood competing with his older brother.  They fought for sports, family valuables, and just generally a "who's best" title.  Their favorite shared sport was swimming, which Oswald excelled at.  He may have been labeled as the third, but he was always number one when it came to swimming.  This helped Oswald to build up the physique and muscle he has today.  In addition to heavy duty farm work, Oswald became fairly strong at a young age.

For the longest time, the Vanderbilt family had managed to avoid conflict for a long time by contributing to the community and being a neutral third party who refused to take sides if they had ever come across a quarrel.  With this unusual tactic, the Vanderbilts became popular in solving spats between neighbors, close friends, townsfolk, and even officials.  But when a war spread from the East, snatching up the world in flames, the Vanderbilt family and most of Holland heard quickly of Brittania's deeds.  Not wanting to be caught off guard in the wake of a war, Oswald made a daring proposal to his father.  His family had long disregarded mechanics and machines, but if they at least had studies and information regarding these automotons and machines that were sprouting up everywhere, perhaps they could better prepare themselves in the future.

Now seeking further education, Oswald took up his belongings in a heavy briefcase.  He packed very little, not sure of what he was going to find in the great world of Brittania.  He was hopeful however, that he would stumble upon an academy, perhaps a college, to study these machines, and maybe even lessen the impact of the war on his country.  He would travel by horse-drawn carriage, taking his family's eldest horses.  It would take Oswald a little over a month to reach Britannia, and its capital.  During that travel time, he studied up on the area, the policies, the environment, and was not hesitant to question others if it meant a little bit of a heads-up as he crossed Britannia's borders.  He eventually learned of a grand scholars opportunity, and a place to study at Daedulus College.  "Rumor has it, 9 out of 10 students will fail," he was told by a stranger.  A tall task indeed.  But, being the avid learner that he was, Oswald was more than up for a challenge.  As a freshman in Daedulus College, he has set his sights on soaking up information and becoming a sponge.  The more he learns, the better off Holland will be.

[spoiler=Equipment]

Gertrude-Oswald doesn't carry much in terms of weaponry.  Guns are messy, automotons are unattractive, and chemistry and biological weapons aren't really his schtick.  Instead, Oswald carries one of the biggest damn hatchets you'll ever lay your friggin' eyes on.  Thanks to his physique, Oswald is able to lug around a ninety kilo hatchet, just over six feet in length.  Its blade is brand new, and sharp as ever. The blade is made of tempered steel, and its handle is made of Burmese Blackwood.  This makes the axe as durable as it is dangerous.  Couple with the strength of Oswald himself, it is not unreasonable for him to swing it around with ease.

[spoiler=Abilities]

High Strength-Oswald is actually deceptively strong.  He can't fully lift a car, but he can easily knock it over.  Swinging around his axe, Gertrude, his strength continues to grow as Gertrude becomes lighter.  He can, however, lift up to 158kg without struggling.  Anymore and he would strain himself too much.

Nature's Decadence-Growing up a farmer's boy, Oswald has a sort of affinity for nature.  Manipulating things like the earth, trees, enticing, luring, and befriending animals comes with ease with anima behind it.  At best, Oswald can animate up to four trees of large size at one time.  The largest portion of land he could move on his own would be equivalent to a city block.  With this of course, he can also manipulate various metals, but chooses not to.  And of course, when it comes to seeking help from animals, Oswald can command up to ten animals of nearly any nature at a time.  This includes but is not limited to whales, wolves, lions, tigers, and bears!

Miscellaneous:  Oswald loves to dance.  Put on something fun, and he probably won't be able to resist!

[spoiler=Claire Ingham / Anima Teacher]

EcUSJGH.png

"The world is vast.  A new page to a new chapter begins everyday.  It begins and ends with anima."

Name: Claire Ingham

Age: 32

Sex: Female

[spoiler=Appearance] JKICIA9.jpg

Blonde hair, blue eyes, big breasts.  What more could you ask for in a teacher, right?  Claire spares no expense when it comes to her own self maintenance.  She is six feet tall exactly, and weighs in at 65kg.  She has a more athletic build, and usually keeps her hair tied back outside of the classroom.  She does not have long nails, and prefers to keep her hands trimmed and neat.  In class, she is often seen with a dark red whip, brandishing it with her right hand.  Her uniform is always ironed and cleaned, as she shows up dressed to work everyday.  And to top it all off, she has a smile that could bewitch even the most faithful of men.  After all, there's nothing more frightening than a smile, a whip, and a uniform.

[spoiler=Personality] Claire is very candid.  She won't lie to you or sugar coat her answers.  If she thinks you're a dick, she'll tell you.  But most importantly, Claire is passionate.  She is passionate about the course she teaches, passionate about her students, and passionate about her country.  When it comes to dedicated teachers, she will put history before most things, even outside of the classroom.  This is not to say she is a stick in the mud.  Claire loves to have a good time, but she will never tolerate ignorance or disrespect.  As a teacher, Claire makes sure to keep the well being of her students in mind, even if they should misbehave.  She is fierce in attitude, approach, and technique, making her a formidable combatant, and teacher.  To match her attitude, Claire is also highly motivating of those around her.  She does not like to see others fail, and will often attempt to lift others up in their most downtrodden of times.

[spoiler=Biography] Claire is a native to Britannia, growing up right here in Camelot.  She is of lesser known nobility.  The Ingham family has long been closely tied to the Royal Family, but only in terms of wealth.  Claire's personal history with the Royal Family of Britannia is the sole reason she acquired her job as the anima teacher.  By no means did she need the job, but she desired it.  For some time, Claire had been interested in anima, even as a little girl.  She would spend hours upon hours, researching, digging, fawning over its history in the depths of her family's library.  As she grew and developed, she watched her siblings, family, and friends go off to war, and she would often wonder how they fared.  This only perpetuated her thirst for knowledge of anima, and her love for the human soul.  When others were concerned with grasping the thrones of their ancestors, she was busy studying the life of the throne itself.  Her passion eventually flared into a full grown lust for anima, and she soon sought to share her repertoire of knowledge with others.

This led her to Daedulis Academy.  There weren't too many positions available at the time she had discovered it, but she was fortunate enough to see an available position in Anima Studies.  She applied for the position and acquired it in a matter of twenty-four hours.  Claire could not have been more ecstatic.  She was elated, and wasted no time bringing in her own materials, books, artifacts, and more.  With the help of her automaton, Mortimer, she mentally and physically prepared herself to become the strongest Anima teacher Daedulus would ever see.  With 200% attention to detail and accuracy, Claire would leave no stone unturned when it came to teaching her students.  "Nine of ten students will drop out of Daedulus College.  None of them will have taken my class.  I can guarantee that."  She would assure this with a smile, but with an iron fist.  With her pursuit of Anima, Claire knew full well what it took to break men and women alike.  She would use these frightening tactics to destroy everything her students thought they knew, and build them back up with a foundation that was stronger, ten fold.

"And if my teaching scares you, it's only because you haven't seen Mortimer and I in battle yet."

Mortimer is Claire's pride.  He is an automaton designed especially by the Royal Family, and is built as a military deterrent.  He is quite old, but his parts are always renewed and refreshed when necessary.  Mortimer was a gift to Claire at the age of seven, shortly around the time she had first begun her certain descent into the world of history.  He would fetch books for her, teach her new and bigger words, and tend to her every whim without question.  Eventually, Mortimer became less of a servant, and more of a friend.  And when Claire was first injured, Mortimer was nowhere to be found.

She had been playing in the backyard, by her lonesome, unattended.  A stray dog managed to cross their private property, and attack Claire.  Luckily for her, only her leg was bitten, and it was not major damage.  But Mortimer had been unjustly slow, only able to send the dog scurrying away after Claire was bitten.  It was around this time that Mortimer received upgrades--combat upgrades.  And no expense was spared when it came to Claire's protection.  He received a paint job, new weapons, an updated targeting system, an upgraded relay transmissions system, and an array of motor function changes.  He was harder.  Better.  Faster.  Stronger.  They had the technology.  And it was put to good use.  To this day, Claire goes just about everywhere with Mortimer.  Thankfully, these  changes to Mortimer's exterior and interior did not change his behavior.  He is still the automaton Claire has always known and loved.  They make a formidable duo in combat, and an even more formidable teacher and assistant in the classroom.

[spoiler=Equipment]

Make no mistake.  The whip she uses in the classroom is not a weapon she would use on the battlefield.  If she were to be called to combat, Claire brandishes a real weapon.  One she had designed specifically for her use.

Janook-This weapon looks complicated, and to be fair, it sort of is.  It took Claire a little over a year to master it, and even now, she is still developing new tricks with it.  Janook is a combined 3-link chain, drawn to one single metal grip.  The chain links are made of super heated titanium, but were modified by anima gears to be nearly weightless.  Each link is twelve feet long, and at the end of each link is a very sharp hook.  These hooks are diamond tipped tempered steel, allowing them to rip through steel quite easily.  In addition, Janook can be taken apart at the grip, allowing Claire to brandish one or more chains in either hand.

Mortimer Ingham-Mortimer does not classify himself as a weapon, but he is.  Housing 2 AR15 rifles, six standard military grenades, an electrical short circuiting field, four pocket missile launchers, and an emergency self destruct system, Mortimer is a walking armory.  Made of titanium, Mortimer is slightly heavy, but with Grade S Military Treads, Mortimer can get up to high speeds of 80 km/h in just a few seconds.  In addition, Mortimer has been equipped with C class thrusters, allowing him to fly and carry a single passenger, at up to 32 km/h for those nasty situations that seem un-winnable.  Mortimer's life line and automaton gears are hidden beneath his legs, under his treads, inside a heavy steel casing.

[spoiler=Abilities]

Athleticism:  Claire is very athletic.  She is quite flexible, capable of bending her body in fluent ways, making her much more dangerous when she flips about with Janook in her hands.

Inspirational Leader:  When Claire is trying to get her class going, her words sound like a trumpet.  Her charisma and influence are quite touching, and she can turn a depressed and wounded soldier into a hero with just a word.

Animation Lunacy:  Using Anima, Claire enhances her speed to obscene levels, allowing her to leave behind afterimages of herself for a short time.

Broken Bonds:  Claire would only be willing to perform this act for one of her students, or someone she loves.  Claire overexerts her body of anima, and turns herself into a ticking time bomb.  She will not survive this, even if she does not explode.  Her last resort, and her last attempt to be a part of history.

Miscellaneous:  Did I mention Claire can cook circles around some of the best chefs?  Home girl got mad skills up in da kitchen, ya dig?

[spoiler=Aegis McAllon]

iU8EggM.png

"Yeah, I mean, I guess I can, like, tone it down, but that's no fun at all. You need approximately a thousand kilojoules of explosive force behind each attack to actually call it, like, an attack, you know?"

Personal Information

Name: Marianne McAllon (Nicknamed "Aegis" as a child, courtesy of Britannia soldiers)
Age: 18
Sex: F

[spoiler=Appearance]

SGApNR5.png

Around 167 cms tall, and weighs around 54 kilograms. She usually dresses as depicted in the picture, with a mere sports bra behind an unbuttoned denim jacket for her top and spats for her pants. Wears short boots and gloves pretty much constantly. Often seen with a large khaki backpack containing various mechanisms, or more commonly, explosives. Additionally, she carries a pair of goggles with darkened lenses to shield her eyes during combat, as well as a yellow earmuff.

[spoiler=Personality]

Aegis is a rather eccentric individual, to put it in the most simplest and bluntest way. In essence, she is a mad inventor with a dangerous motormouth that has ticked off more than an a few people in the past. Also, she's kind of a pyromaniac, to say the least. She's an energetic and cheery individual, going through life at full speed, and generally shows signs of being hyperactive to a degree. Though, not to the point where she's incapable of being serious or acting mellow once in a while. Her most defining trait is her love for machines, fire, chemicals, and not to forget, chemical fires.

Being raised from a relatively worse-off family, Aegis doesn't exactly have ladylike manners to be expected of Britannian young women. As one can tell from her outfit, she's more of a tomboy. Her loud and excitable personality is just proof to reinforce that fact even further. This can be alluded to a lack of female members in her household growing up, however. When it comes to manners and morals and so on, Aegis is generally friendly and nice to talk to. She's not stuck-up enough to refuse a plea of help, but she will think twice before jumping into a situation, which should be a given considering her keen intellect. Of course, nice doesnt exactly mean noble. Since she was born poor, snatching "ownerless objects" isn't above her at all.

She's an inventor, through and through. Under her bubbly and flighty personality lies a genius mind. Not exactly Einstein-level world-changing genius or anything of the sort, but she's exceptionally talented with machinery from a young age. Not really one for planning and blueprints or whatever, as she's already adept enough to make small-sized automatons as easily as a child makes houses with building blocks. Of course, there was a lot of trial and error involved in her path to achieving her current skill level, and she even admits that for all her natural genius with machines, she wouldn't be nowhere near as good as she is now without constant practice. However, that's also the only part of her that even comes close to being humble. She's really really proud of her inventions, to the point of sounding like a telemarketer when describing it to others.

Other than machines, she's also fascinated with explosives. Grenades, dynamites, nitroglycerine, kerosene, and so on are all under her wing of expertise.

[spoiler=Biography]

Unlike most of Daedalus's Students, Aegis was not born in a rich family that can afford tuition. Heck, she isn't even born to a family that can realistically feed themselves 3 times a day. She's born in a war-torn part of Britannia that directly borders another country that is soon to be the next victim in Britannia's empirical march. Her father works at the trenches as an errand boy, and her mother, well, she doesnt really know what happened to her. Her house is torn-down and dirty, but still relatively large due to it being a relic from a time before Britannia's march, and as a result is often used as a resting spot of soldiers en-route to the battlefield. Due to this, she's always been close to the empire's machineries, soldiers, and more importantly, the explosives used in the war.

Young Aegis, being the peppy energetic little girl that she is, would often hang around the machines brought by the soldiers and stare at it in awe. Due to this, she became quite close to the soldiers in the front line, as her innocence (at the time) also reminded them of what they're fighting for. Time passed, and her awe turned to fascination. Her natural intellect started to show when she repaired a soldier's anima gun all by herself. At first it was only a gun, but in time she learned to reassemble and repair various machines. In fact, she even began to learn to create machines of her own. At first it was only a simple automated mouse-sized droid, but for a girl who should be in middle school, that's already mighty impressive.

One of her greatest contributions during the time of war was when she repaired a Britannian automaton tank, stocked it with explosives, and turned gave it remote control. The machine was instrumental to the war, and thus her deeds reached the word of a particularly high-ranking official who came to the soldier's barracks for a routine inspection, Aegis's peculiar skill with machines intrigued the man, and soon she was adopted by him and taken to the capital to develop her skills further and be a future asset for Britannia. Of course, adapting to life in the capital was difficult for her. There are many many rules she used to never be bound with before, and the three years between her adoption and enrolling to Daedalus proved to be a nightmare. However, her attitude did eventually improve, becoming more mature and dignified instead of the shameless country bumpkin she previously was.

Eventually, she enrolled in Daedalus under a scholarship program, but her program is rather unique in that it's closely tied with the Military.

[spoiler=Equipment]

[spoiler=Explosive Beads]

Aegis's signature weapon and her proudest invention to date. Through a combination of her anima and also a special mixture of chemicals, Aegis is capable of creating and mass-manufacturing small beads slightly larger than a pinhead in size with explosive force ranging from "a few grams of gunpowder" to "a literal hand grenade". These beads are utilized in many different ways, and generally works like this:

1. Anima is imbued into beads

2. Bead comes into contact with an object with sufficient force
3. Bead explodes, with explosive power directly proportional to the amount of Anima imbued.

Alternatively, the beads can also explode is she takes back the Anima channeled, making it useful to be set as landmines as well. In general, she keeps the explosives medium-sized to minimize collateral damage and also allow her to conserve Anima, but she can go all out with hand grenade spam if she truly wants to. The beads are usually kept in her pocket and is used in combat by flicking it or throwing it at an enemy, but she also carries a slingshot for accurate long-range head exploding.

[spoiler=Here are several objects/weapons she created that uses this bead technology]

[spoiler=Exploder Glove]

Like the name implies, this is a glove worn by Aegis to channel her explosions. Physically, it's a black fingerless glove with silver metal padding on the back. The padding resembles a thick (8mm) metal plate with 4 holes drilled in each side to let the smoke from each explosion out. Usage-wise, this basically concentrates all the explosive force from the beads' explosion in the palm of her arm, essentially giving her a slap with enough power to break down walls, or backhands strong enough to push massive automatons back. Normally her ammo for this is around ~15+ beads in each hand, for a total of 30 explosive strikes. But, her arms cant handle the repeated stress, so the actual usage is much lower than that.

[spoiler=Finger Barrels]

A short metal pipe the size of a magnum handgun barrel attached directly to Aegis's fingers. The pipe is filled with approximately 20 beads each, with one bead directly connecting to her finger tip. The idea behind the weapon is that by applying a small bit of anima to the bead connected to her fingers, the pressure from the resulting explosion would shoot out the foremost bead, essentially giving her a handgun of sorts. By continously exerting anima, she can induce a full-auto mode, though it would severely hinder her aiming. Aegis pretends to only carry one of these, but actually has a whopping 11 barrels in her backpack.

[spoiler=Heimdall]

Name: Heimdall

Classification: Anima-powered Explosive Dispenser and Watchguard Automaton

Height: 31 CM

Maximum Range: N/A

Description: Aegis's only Automaton as of the start of the RP. Heimdall takes the shape of a humanoid robot with very minimalistic construction, composed of a cucumber-shaped body, limbs, a functioning pair of wings, and a fully-rotating head with a large ocular lens in place of a face. Heimdall's purpose, as evidenced by its name, is that of a watcher. Its fully rotating head, combined with the wide range of vision provided by the wide lens provides a range of vision that is directly transmitted to Aegis's goggles, akin to that of a live video feed. Thanks to its size and ability to disguise itself as a flying rod, it often provides a cover for its owner's blindspot. Additionally, the eggplant body carries more ammo for Aegis to use.

[spoiler=Abilities]

Aegis's combat strategy involves a lot of hiding, sabotaging, and loud big explosions. Due to not having any sort of formal combat training, she more or less relies on her beads in combat, as well as her natural savvy. She's not above talking her way out of danger and attacking when the opponent is down, too. Due to the variable size of her explosions, she can easily fit into the demoman or saboteur role of a team, not to mention her skills as a mechanic.

Her sense of hearing, smell, and vision are all below that of an average person's, due to having been born in a warzone (she had to sleep through explosions and gunfire, and her house is filled with the stench of oil, among other things) To prevent further damage, she has to wear her goggles and earmuffs during combat.

Would've posted to let you guys know I was interested yesterday, but the hotel I've been staying at has quite literally the worst internet connection in the entire world. So I didn't get much of a chance :/

...

I'll probs bring Stellar back since she was the stronger of the two characters I was running in the previous CS, although I'll wanna make a few changes/updates to her. Dunno what I wanna do with the other one yet; might scrap him if too much has changed

In any case, I'll start apping when I get home... to more reliable internet.

Interest Noted! I also voted for this so....

I looked at alchemy on the info thing, but it doesn't explain much. Is it like the equivalent exchange thing or something else? And is there some sort of limit we should put to Anima powers/Abilities? Does each student that comes to Daedalus college have to become a military/soldier or not?

Alchemy is just chemistry. Just don't be OP. You don't have to be a soldier, but Britannia has 3 year compulsory service since they are trying to conquer the world.
