Toffee.
2 Level 10 monstersOnce per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster on the field; this turn, it is unaffected by other card effects, except its own.I always liked this card, really... A Felgrand of sorts, with much higher stats; Dora doesn't give a funk, and is a bit of a pain to deal with.Still wishing we got this in English; oh well, I guess.Discuss. BlackBeartic
I'm still waiting for them to release the other 30 or so numbers that should've long been released..... As for this card, it's felgrand on crack that's super annoying to deal with as you said. (I would've loved to see anna use this)
goodfusion
I've never played a Train deck, and I haven't played against them that much... but to me Gustav Max seems like the better choice most of the time as it gets more damage out. The Warden
I freaking love this guy. You put Shekinaga and Derricrane underneath him, and you're pretty much all like "Come at me bro". Rank 10s needed better Xyz, and I'm glad they got one.
Expelsword
The funniest way to deal with this is play Cairingorgon, then Dark Hole.

Then don't post until you have. I'm not exactly sure of the purpose of posting when you have absolutely no clue of anything regarding the deck you are posting about and will even admit such. Superior Dora is much better than Gustaph just because it dodges removal. I shouldn't have to say why a 3200 body that dodges removal twice is superior to a 3000 one that deals 4000 damage over 2 turns. Damage is irrelevant unless you're winning the game. The best way to play Trains is Traindoll, and they want things that stick to the board. You only ever go into Gustaph when you need the extra 2000 to win. That or you're absolutely desperate to get a Derricrane to resolve so you make Gustaph to resolve it without wasting value, but you lose those games anyway so I mean. So how good of an explorer is this card? And the point of this post is? I hate to be the post quality police here, but recently TCG has been pretty bleh. That sort of thinking is a great way to get your ass kicked in OCG Except the larger percentage of us have absolutely zero interest in the OCG. If you wanted to make a point like that, why not explain so we actually understand it?
Miror B
That moment when people are comparing 2 cards whose only similarity is what you use to make them. Let's just compare Gagaga Cowboy to Castel why don't we?

VCR_CAT
Freaking love this card (obviously), but the best part isn't JUST the protection it can get to prevent removal, but the other ways you can completely screw with your opponent's plays using his effect. Did you know chaining Dora to a Rank Up Magic and targeting the monster they're trying to rank up wastes the play? It totally does. It also helps you stop any kind of Honest-style play if you're smart and know it's coming. But by far the best use of Dora is with Derricrane; being able to pop a card your opponent controls almost whenever you want during your opponent's turn (except the damage step) is a huge advantage to have and can stop almost any play if you play it smart and see it coming. In the hands of a smart play, Number 81 is easily one of the strongest Xyz monsters there is, especially considering its current ease of summon. It's also worth noting that if you're commenting on Number 81, you have some sort of vested interest in the OCG; considering that Trains haven't been one of the more popular decks and, outside of the first three cards that saw promo release in Europe and Australia and the mediocre cards we got in Dragons of Legend, have been exclusively OCG for the entirety of their existence. Currently, our only evidence that these cards will be hitting TCG ANY time soon is because for some stupid reason Kevin decided to release Ruffian Railcar as an import, even though its only targets for searching are Rocket Arrow and Machina Force until any of these guys see release; but that was already a while ago and who knows when these guys will hit state-side. Great job pooping, Konami. Deny me my favorite deck another year why don't you.
Maeriberii Haan
Going -2 into a Compuls or Torrential is bad. I mean with the looming threat of an incoming dora torrential will be activated before you Xyz so in the end it's not much different. Compulse is a different story yes, but really, just as Miror said the two served two very different functions. Like why would you go for Dora when you want to end the game, and why would you go to Gustav when you're facing a lot of backrows.

Nobody will summon a REDMD without getting the LPD loop set up. Torrential literally won't help. Gustav is just too risky of a card to run anymore. Just like how Gunman is a pile of sheet
Maeriberii Haan
Then Torrential won't also be a decent answer to Gustav since in that case LPD is similarly on the field.

Compuls BTH are still cards. Playing recklessly in OCG will make you lose. Aggressive yes. Reckless no. Dora is a better choice 9/10 times
VCR_CAT
Gustav is great for setting up victories and punishing decks that don't interact with the other player (burn decks in particular); but Dora will always be the safer choice in most situations. If you're going to trust anyone, trust me when I say Dora is the right decision almost every time. Which comes to another issue; Dora makes Trains a little linear right now, so I hope we get another really good rank 10 so that Dora isn't automatically the answer in every situation. Granted, I play a lot of different strategies in my Trains so it's not like Qliphort linear or linear to a fault; but I'd still like a little more variety in the amount of optimal plays. ~Faytl~
Easily the main ace of Trains, this thing is hard to get over without using up at least two cards (chaining to this things effect with Breakthrough or what have you). The fact that with Switchyard it's so easy to make means it's a constantly threatening boss monster, if predictable and able to be played around. Miror B
Fair. Compuls BTH are still cards. Playing recklessly in OCG will make you lose. Aggressive yes. Reckless no. Dora is a better choice 9/10 timesAnd playing conservatively will cost you game at times too.If Gustav can end the game with little visible risk, you aren't going to go Dora just because your opponent might have Effect Veiler. But if Gustav won't end the game or has a high risk (you're facing down a field of backrow), you're better off going Dora. And again we're comparing Cowboy to Castel here. 2 different functions in the same deck.
