Xeroxys
Edit: Most up-to-date card list can be found here. Most of the development for these cards can be found in this Advanced Multiples thread, so you can go there if you'd like to see their progress up to this point, as well as my thoughts on balance. I'm posting them here to get input, with the goal of making them tournament appropriate. Summary of the archetype - The artwork/theme is robotic recreations of historical figures, real or otherwise. - The focus is on Synchro Summoning monsters through the effect of the archetype's "Tuner," Synchronaut Ford. Instead of sending to the Graveyard a Tuner and non-Tuners from the field, Ford banishes Synchronaut monsters from the hand, field, and Graveyard. - 5 of the 10 Main Deck monsters act as "Synchro Materials," giving buffs to Synchro Monsters, much like Yang Zings, when banished from the field or hand. - Most of the Main Deck monsters can discard themselves to send another from the Deck to the Graveyard, and a select few of them get effects when sent to the Graveyard. - The Spell support is primarily based on excavating cards from the top of the Deck and gaining effects based on the number of Synchronaut monsters excavated. - The boss monster of the archetype is Synchronaut Overlord, and his effect is meant to speed up Synchro Summoning with Ford, and he equips Synchro Monsters to gain additional effects. Xeroxys
Bump. I've made a few changes to the archetype, all of which I've edited into my previous post. Most notably: I've removed both the OPT limit and the "can't target itself" limit for sending to the Grave. These limitations were left over from when the cards added to hand instead of sent to Grave. Now that they lose hand advantage and can't cycle infinitely, neither of these limitations are needed, and they just add card text and serve to make turns more confusing. However, I've left the OPT limits where they're needed (Hayha, Hippocrates, Schindler), and also left the "can't target itself" limits where it prevents discarding just for the sake of discarding.I significantly nerfed the effect of Gambit. Before, you could pop three of your opponent's cards, and could use Schindler to do it twice per turn. And with the increased number of monsters in the archetype, this became more feasible. So I modified the effect so that you can only pop 2 cards per use, and also so that you're more likely to get the undesirable effect instead. After recent testing, I'm becoming more and more convinced that the archetype is balanced, albeit inconsistently so. It tends to lose to meta decks due to its slowness in getting big monsters out (its only real win condition). I think the misconception from some of my opponents that the archetype is overpowered stems from the fact that, when it does win, it tends to do so by summoning a very powerful monster, and my opponents assume this is successfully pulled off every duel, which is far from the truth. I've also noticed that this tends to happen when my opponent is playing a slow or defensive deck, which allows this archetype time to build up resources and get out a big boss monster. At the moment, I have no major changes planned. I'm contemplating returning Rasputin's effect to what it previously was (grants destruction immunity, rather than just battle destruction immunity), but I'm not yet convinced that's necessary/advisable. Input is welcome, as always.
Xeroxys
Bump. Currently grappling with whether or not to revert Rasputin's effect (from the current battle destruction immunity to a general destruction immunity). Reasoning in favour of reverting the effect:It takes the archetype a while to set up for the summon of a big or well-protected monster, which would be helped by going back to the original effect. Currently, what often happens is I start setting up the Graveyard, hoping to bring out Overlord, ideally, but get pressured before I can do so. Needing to get something on the board to stop the opponent from setting up a game-winning field, I go into a Synchro, usually with Rasputin as one of its materials. This typically empties the Graveyard, and while I scramble to set up again, my Synchro monster gets destroyed by an effect. This is very common, and reverting Rasputin's effect would greatly help.Reasoning against reverting the effect:General destruction immunity is a pretty good effect. It's one of the things that make cards like Beelze pretty good (or at least did, before Extra Decks became so adept at dealing with it), and battle destruction immunity itself isn't a half-bad effect. For example, cards like Marshmallon aren't useless and serve their purpose, but if they also couldn't be destroyed by effects, they'd be significantly better. However, it's important to note that I'm not proposing giving Rasputin effect destruction immunity, just the Synchro monsters he goes into. Effectively, he could turn other Synchros into "mini-Beelzes", which is a pretty good effect (as I said elsewhere, it easily makes him the best of the archetype's Synchro Materials). That's my thinking thus far. Something needs to be done, because as it stands, the archetype has a difficult time enacting its game plan, but I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done. This would solve the problem, I think, but maybe people have better ideas? Input?

I believe this solves the problem I was having. The problem was that Rasputin was overcentralizing in the archetype with his original effect, but with his nerfed effect, I was having trouble putting out a preliminary monster that could last long enough for me to pool resources. Now, I can instead put out a monster with Rasputin (nerfed) + Flamel, which gives better coverage than Rasputin (nerfed) + any 1 of the other materials, but not so good as Rasputin (original) + any 1 of the other materials.
