~NOiSE~
Just bought this at the flea market the other day, always wanted to play it but never had a chance until now. Going with the Japanese cover because it's a lot cooler than the US version. EDIT: So yes this is actually the cover of the PAL version but the Japanese version has the same art, either way better than the US artwork. Just Crouton
The best Castlevania I've ever played. So much to do. So much to explore. So many items and Easter eggs.
Astro Dude
"What is a man?" A miserable little pile of secrets. Also, for you Castlevania fans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2oHk9n5Kj8
J-Max
I always liked the catchy little musictrack that was hidden on the disc if you played it in a CD player. Alucard would go through the whole thing about PlayStation discs of being unplayable outside a PlayStation and then music. http://youtu.be/fvF_fOe3WV8
Shradow
I've never played any Castlevania but I've always heard good things about this one, would this be a good one to start with?
Power Armour
I would say Harmony of Despair (X360 & PS3) is a good starting point.
The Warden
After reading this thread I decided to get this on the PSN as my first Castlevania game. It was actually pretty fun, and I loved smiting evil with the power of RELIGION!
GarlandChaos
I would say Harmony of Despair (X360 & PS3) is a good starting point. Shradow, this guy is wrong/lying. Don't play Harmony of Despair unless you're REALLY curious. I'd recommend Aria of Sorrow first, personally. I could never really get into Symphony of the Night. The Warden
The spinning Bible attack is my favourite special. It's great introducing all the evil terrors of Dracula's Castle to the wonderful world of RELIGION!
Lazer Yoshi
SOTN was pretty good, but for some reason I prefer the linear games more. Super Castlevania IV remains my favorite.
Power Armour
Harmony of Despair isnt that bad if you have friends. Mind you the multiplayer could have died and I wouldn't know, having out with the 360. If white hair and trenchcoats aren't peoples thing I'd reccomend Circle of Moon for good old stiff jumping and whipping actions with RPG elements. Harmony of Despair is bad, period, with or without friends. And Circle of the Moon isn't exactly a very appealing game, if you ask me. I'd still recommend Aria of Sorrow as anyone's first Castlevania.
