Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Just bought this at the flea market the other day, always wanted to play it but never had a chance until now.

Going with the Japanese cover because it's a lot cooler than the US version.

EDIT: So yes this is actually the cover of the PAL version but the Japanese version has the same art, either way better than the US artwork.

I always liked the catchy little musictrack that was hidden on the disc if you played it in a CD player. Alucard would go through the whole thing about PlayStation discs of being unplayable outside a PlayStation and then music.

I would say Harmony of Despair (X360 & PS3) is a good starting point.

Shradow, this guy is wrong/lying. Don't play Harmony of Despair unless you're REALLY curious.

I'd recommend Aria of Sorrow first, personally. I could never really get into Symphony of the Night.

Harmony of Despair isnt that bad if you have friends. Mind you the multiplayer could have died and I wouldn't know, having out with the 360. If white hair and trenchcoats aren't peoples thing I'd reccomend Circle of Moon for good old stiff jumping and whipping actions with RPG elements.

Harmony of Despair is bad, period, with or without friends. And Circle of the Moon isn't exactly a very appealing game, if you ask me. I'd still recommend Aria of Sorrow as anyone's first Castlevania.
