Calm Captain
It's summer now, so I have time to try and get good at these
Night
Oh shit, glad to see you're back bud. I'm really liking your color selection, more so on the first than the second because it's more implied. The second one's cool but the colors definitely feel forced, maybe loosen up the g-map's just a tad or introduce a third color. Also, make sure the focal doesn't take up more than 1/3 of the piece, the first one would be far better if we could see more of what was going on in the background, especially since the focal doesn't do much to entice the foreground. Beyond that, the flow's cool on both, depth and atmo's more apparent in the second, ensure you stray away from "synthetic" lighting as much as possible. Also, the text should almost never be on the bottom left/right top left/right, it just doesn't work. Keep it up though. You've got potential for sure. Calm Captain
Thanks for the feedback, m8, this was very helpful. Would you mind being a bit more specific about the lighting, though? Like what I did wrong or what I should do instead.
'tyleR
As far as what he means by synthetic lighting, he means on the second one your focal just looks like its glowing with no definite source or reasoning for the lighting to just cover her instead of creating a dynamic and having it accentuate the focal. Instead of integrating it, it's just kind of unnaturally laid on top. The first just really doesn't have lighting at all. The second could be really cool with some touch ups on contrast and lighting. Just touching those up would make the colors kinda pop and give it a cool atmosphere. The first just has like %75 focal and there really isn't too much to look at besides Dante and some squiggly lines. KIU tho
