aand the first argument this has caused. fun

Dunno if it's reached argument status yet, just opinions. No one is taking it too far yet.

Though it's interesting. Last Brawl, until the end, didn't have any arguments really. And it's the only one I was here for. Amused me when people were so concerned over drama. Time will tell I suppose.

I don't really see what the issue is. Everyone has their own views of a member and what they do. I thought the whole purpose of this 'brawl' was for people to express those views without anybody taking offense or getting in a huff about it.

The YMB is basically a popularity contest, for most intents/purposes.

But indeed, we all have our opinion on members, based on what we see of them. Those opinions are to be respected.

I've mentioned several times that I do not go into RPs, so can't vouch for Toyo's activity in there. Nai should know how active she is in RPs.

(Also might not help that I was on hiatus during 2012 and much of 2013)

You can make both an argument that people shouldn't vote if they don't know both members equally and also fuck that noise, because virtually no one would be able to vote.

That's because my brawl was super cool and offered round robins right off the bat to make sure we didn't lose all the good members to unfavorable matchups in the first few rounds and let members see multiple varying opinions of them compared to the other members they faced.

I would've done round-robins, but then it'd go on forever (and yes, Polls would've been flooded by now if I posted each match separately).

Or conversely, I could've done it like the GPT and just straight-elimination all the way. That might've been easier to coordinate, although yes people would get ticked off if they got eliminated earlier (and might've had a better chance against others)

Recall that I dislike posting multiple matches in one thread; that way, if you don't like the matchup, you can vote on others, as opposed to being forced to vote on ALL of them.

---

In any case, Toyo is still winning by 3 over you.

No, she does not post in every section of this forum.

That does not mean she has done nothing. Stickies threads are not the only threads that matter.

Also

Take me for example.

I generally like to think that I can be considered a member who has contributed a lot to this site since becoming active 4 years ago.

But how many things can people actually point to to explain how I've contributed in the categories being talked about here?

I have my own things I can point to, but I'm not even sure how many people could actually name them, or how many could, but don't think much of them.

You've been here quite a while, though I can't really speak of your accomplishments either (though I will assume you did a fair amount).

Being away during 2012-2013 may not have helped; that's likely the time you got yourself established.

Just for clarification, any opinions of members are based on how well we know them. This doesn't apply only for me, but for all members who vote in this thing.

Some of us weren't around when others were at their peak and doing a lot of stuff.

So yeah, if I had stuck around on YCM during 2012-2013 instead of deciding to quit for a while, maybe I might've had a better idea of Toyo's (or even your contributions).

But since that's not the case, you get it.

This is true, or at least the latter part. Plus there's the issue of how well members know the members, whether knowing of members counts as actually knowing them or how the metrics of intimacy would be applied.

Well, Toyo did contribute that "how to behave in Advanced" guide and parts of DP, and that's about it. Then again, Toyo is Nai's backup (even though she lacks any form of moderator powers).
Since I didn't really elaborate on her when I voted, might as well do it.

Like you, I find her behavior to be rather questionable at certain points in time, however that's not all the time (but on occasion).

Granted, she does put in the work when needed (I've not been accessing DP lately because I cannot login there for some odd reason, and then the group chat because it causes my Skype to lag).

In that regard, Toyo's really only done part of the Advanced stuff and DP things to be honest (if we look at her contributions). Other sections, I don't really see anything in there.

----
So yeah, while she's a good member, I don't really have a lot of reason to vote her over Agro or Zazu (whom I did cast my vote towards).
No offense though.

If both Nai and Toyo make it to Round 2, we shall see if fate decides to pit them against one another.

"Let me just go and say why I voted for this person and why you should vote for this person, and then say why I didn't vote for this other person."
*cough*

Sakura, Toyo actually is really helpful as well as extremely active and still very much part of the Yugioh community, so I felt like what you said was a bit rude somewhat. Yes, you might not have known, but I don't think such huge understatements/generalizations should be made in the first place, if one doesn't know where a person's active anyways. Sure, personal opinion will affect the end result of these kinds of things since it's a popularity poll in the first place, but I feel like this was a bit much, to say the least.

Also, might just be me, but I've been noticing some matchups that seemed somewhat off-balance, to say the least. "Fate" really doesn't seem to be playing too big of a role here.
