YCM's Big E3 Prediction EXTRAVAGANZA!

Agro

Recommended Posts

So E3 is less than a month away and I can't help myself from getting at least a little bit hyped.

A lot of gaming sites and personalities out there have begun laying out their E3 predictions and

in order to sate my thirst, I figured "Why not bring this to the forum and see what crazy stuff people predict?

So that's what we're going to do.

Obviously, I'd like to see a minimum amount of predictions spread across all the different press conferences,

but it's fine if you only have a few for only one or two conferences, or maybe just one or two in general.

I just want people to share. So do so :>

Here's the conference schedule:

Conference Schedule

Bethesda                   June 14 - 7pm  PT / 10pm ET

Microsoft                   June 15 - 9:30am PT / 12:30pm ET

EA                            June 15 - 1pm PT / 4pm ET

Ubisoft                      June 15 - 3pm PT / 6pm ET

Sony                         June 15 - 6pm PT / 9pm ET

Nintendo                   June 16 - 9am PT / 12pm ET

Square Enix               June 16 - 10am PT / 1pm ET

PC Gaming Show       June 16 - 5pm PT / 8pm ET

Just so you know, I do feel I've been following the game industry pretty closely to know what kinds of things

will and won't be possible (or have already been confirmed/deconfirmed) so I'll probably respond to some comments.

Nothing vitriolic, of course, and I hope everyone feels like discussing other's predictions.

This is supposed to be fun, after all.

LET'S DO IT. GOGOGO.

I'll be editing in a list of all the known games and exclusives that should be notable for each press conference within the next day or so.

Sony, we're probably gonna get anything but the Vita. Maybe they'll show an ad or two but nothing else. It was pretty much that last year. ;_; Also if we're gonna get some P5 footage its probably here.

Nintendo, maybe more FExSMT details, and I really can't guess the rest. Nintendo E3 conferences have a good amount of stuff everytime so.

Square Enix, more FFXV delays and footage.

Can't say I know or care for any other studio.

I should mention that SE actually confirmed FFXV won't be shown at E3. No idea why they'd do that, considering they'll actually have a press conference, but meh.

Bethesda: Stuff by other studios.  Maybe a couple new games.  Maybe Fallout 4.  Probably some DLC.

Microsoft: A bunch of what they already have, Halo Halo Halo Halo Kinect, maybe a new game or two.  Maybe more of games announced last year.

EA: Maybe Star Wars, an hour of shitty sports games.   The next Battlefield.

Ubisoft:  Mwahahahaha we're the devil.

Sony: Suck our dick we're the greatest here's Uncharted 4 that's all you're getting.

Nintendo: Hello, we'd like to show you a video game in the most anticlimactic way possible please understand.

Square Enix: The new Deus Ex hopefully, maybe Tomb Raider if it's not part of the Microsoft show.  Kingdom Hearts III: Pipe Dream.  Final Fantasy XV

Mainly I want to talk about Ninty

Bravo, SE. Bravo.

Is there even anything else they have that they can announce?

Well there's obviously still Kingdom Hearts and Bravely Second, but most of their known games are coming from their western studios, led by Eidos with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided alongside Just Cause 3, and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Also, IO Interactive is rumored to be working on a new Hitman game.

I'm gonna keep a counter and see how many times i'll repeat this in the thread, lol: 2.

My friend, you're gonna need to enlighten me what this is.

Kingdom Hearts

Shit, I forgot that was a thing. Well, I won't be watching the SE stream with bated breath, but I'll at least watch it.

I'm gonna keep a counter and see how many people totally miss this: 2.

Fire Emblem If

And I also forgot that was a thing. Now that I'm actually really hyped for.

For good or for worse Nintendo's E3 is pretty much the most hype each year. Don't let me down now, ninty.

Fire Emblem If

I started that post before I saw yours.

That being said, without Final Fantasy I don't see how they're going to fill 3 hours.

Also Agro, do you know if the Nintendo event is just digital?  I assume it is since it overlaps with Squeenix.

We're also probably going to be expecting more DLC announcements for Smash and Mario Kart 8.  Most likely, the new smasher would be Ryu.  I'm predicting that the two DLC packs for MK8 would probably be Kirby-themed and either Pokemon-themed or Xenoblade-themed.

Xenoblade Chronicles X would have its dub heard the first time.

3 hours? Usually these press conferences don't last more than one, with the exception of Sony which runs for 2, because they don't understand how much shit they have that no one cares about (i.e. the PS+ series Powers)

Or is someone reading the PT/ET as start and end times, silly goose~

Squeenix moved their conference back an hour so it doesn't overlap, lol. And yes, it will only be digital, seeing how well it worked last year.

To be honest, I would have preferred those times to a degree. The 2 hour wait between Microsoft & EA and Ubisoft & Sony can be excrutiating. I guess they want people to be sure they get lunch and dinner but COME OOOOOOOOON.

EDIT:

Added all the games we know are coming from each publisher and the big 3rd party exclusive, and multiplatform games.

I kinda ignored PC tho lawl

Hoping for solid released date for Bravely Second in the West.

Microsoft will probably be as Tenta said HaloHaloHalo. Here have some more Halo. Did we mention we're coming out with a new Halo game. lol guize, but like... Halo... (though honestly I really wouldn't be too upset with that) Hopefully we'll see some Rise of the Tomb Raider though

Sony will probably be well... I'm not even gonna lie I don't give a s***.  I would love to see some Persona stuffs though.

Nintendo will hopefully release some SMTxFE details and FE if details.

I would like to see a few new IPs too.

Oh right, I believe Phantom Dust has been cancelled though.

Possibly something about "Pokemon Z" (or whatever thing they named it). So far most game trio's have had about 2 years between the release of the original games and the 'remake'.

  • 1996: Red & Blue; 1998: Yellow.
  • 1999: Gold & Silver; 2000: Crystal.
  • 2002: Ruby & Sapphire; 2005: Emerald.
  • 2006: Diamond & Pearl; 2008: Platinum.
  • 2010: Black & White; 2012: Black 2 & White 2.
  • 2013: X & Y; 2015: ...

Other than that, maybe "Monster Hunter: Stories". We have had a trailer some time ago, and that was it. Lastly, I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo announced some ports of older games.

I feel like this was true last year too. Nintendo has been putting out some amazing games recently so they are pulling focus again.

See, I'm not sure how well a Pokemon themed pack will work if they can't also have a pokemon racer.

I forgot we still haven't heard anything from the dub VAs. That will be interesting.

See, I don't think we're getting a new pokemon game this year. We haven't heard ANYTHING about it and based on the time tables for the past two games it feels like if we were we should have heard something by now. Which would be interesting since the last time a year was skipped for us was back in 08.

Anyway, I'll keep tabs on the other conferences, but I'm really interested in what Nintendo is going to do. We know so much about their upcoming offerings that what ever they have tucked away is likely to be big.

Do I need to remind everyone of Nintendo's press conference at E3 2012? It definitely wasn't good! lol

I forgot we still haven't heard anything from the dub VAs. That will be interesting.

VAs generally do a better job of keeping things hush hush than actors in live action films, etc. Since they just have to come into a studio and there's no set or anything for someone to sneak a picture or film a performance.

For Pokémon, we probably get something, but it's going to be a home console release along the lines of Stadium, Coliseum, or Battle Revolution. Either that or they show off Pokken Fighters.

Oh gosh I hope so.  As long as it's not complete shit like Battle Revolution, I'd settle for a Stadium-type game OR a Colosseum-type game.

So, looks like this years Pokemon game is Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. Wonder if they will show anything at E3 (my guess is yes, but you never know). Also pretty sure this means we won't be seeing a main series game. First time the franchise took a year off since 08 in NA.

I should remind you all that this game has nothing to do with the release schedule of mainline Pokémon games. The Mystery Dungeon games are developed by Chunsoft, not Game Freak, and just tend to release every 2-3 years since the original released in Japan in '05. We're still not likely to get any main game, but it's not because of this thing.

Game Freak was working on both ORAS and Smash Bros for 3DS last year, and this year they've already released a mobile game and Tempo the Badass Elephant will be coming out for PS4, XBO, and PC. Probably just got too much on their palette.

But I bet they're just taking their time because they want to get Mega Flygon into Z :>
