NeoReaper4444
Strategic Supercruiser Jörmungandr EARTH Rank 10 Machine/Xyz/Effect 2 Level 10 Monsters Cannot attack. Once per turn, if this card would be destroyed by battle, it is not destroyed. During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or monster effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. You can only use this effect of "Strategic Supercruiser Jörmungandr" once per turn. If another EARTH Machine-Type Xyz Monster you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish 1 Machine-type monster from your Graveyard instead. ATK/ 1800 DEF/ 2600 3000 Trains are known for their sheer brute force and overwhelming power. I decided to go against this norm with something more sleek; more elegant. I figured Trains needed their own Infernity Barrier (because, let's face it, most other friggen decks have one), but I'd rather there be some cost associated with it, while not being too difficult or awkward to use (looking at you, Secret Move). This guy is a supporter, as can be seen; it can't attack at all normally. It protects itself and its brothers by stopping those pesky spells like Raigeki or traps like Mirror Force, and can even stop your opponent's plays before they can take off. Furthermore, it gives itself and it Train xyz monster friends blanket protection from destruction, as long as you have banish fodder in your graveyard. I think this card is a valuable team member for the rank 10 toolbox. Suggestions welcome, comments welcome, etc etc Edit: Changed it a bit. I gave it more DEF to make it resemble its brothers a little more, and I nerfed its destruction-protection effect indirectly. It can't protect itself now with its effect, but it's still a tough nut to crack with the effect I gave it (marked in red). I also removed the attack prevention thing because I felt it didn't accomplish anything.
Face McShooty
The only thing I really can say about this is I believe the first line should be "This monster cannot declare an attack." And Jörmungandr is actually a Norse deity, a sea serpent to be exact. It's not just a fancy name. Just saying
NeoReaper4444
I know about Jormungandr, I actually like Norse Mythology a lot and I work that into some card names.
flowerviolence
Yay for Rank 10's! This card gives Rank 10's the protection they need. Most Rank 10's are purely offensive while this is quite the opposite. Get this out and your plays should be set. I especially love the subtle Dreadnought protection in there <3 Sorry if I am not descriptive enough with my review, I just really love the card! :3 And like I said, it's what Rank 10's need. VCR_CAT
So far you're competing for card names here: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Jormungardr_the_Nordic_Serpent The effect is not bad and the monster's pretty good, but with that hard OPT and the mediocre attack stat it just feels like Number 81 is still a much better go-to, especially for defense-position shenanigans. I should also mention that with such a bad ATK stat for a Rank 10 monster, the no-attack clause feels completely unnecessary as I can't imagine why anyone would summon him in Attack Position to begin with. Also with how I like my Machinas and my Scrap Recycler in my Trains; banishing a setup grave would be very risky for me to do. It's a good card, but in Trains I still feel like Number 81 is still a better choice overall, as it offers very good protection but also with the super-beefy stats on the table.
