Continuing the string of Kickstarter Retro-Games, we now have a Not-Castlevania game in the making. Never played anything in the franchise before, but I know its a style of game I'd probably enjoy. Certainly going to try to keep tabs on this. If nothing else that art is BEAUTIFUL.

Pledge rewards got a bit too high for me. I'll probably wait until it actually gets made to buy into it.

The kickstarter video is absolutely amazing though. You simulated torturing a dude, 10 atta 10

As kickass as this looks, I probably won't get it, solely because I have no means to play it. I've always loved Metroidvanias, though, and I'll be supporting this with my heart instead of my money, which is what really matters.

I'm going with what GarlandChaos with what he said as I will support this game with my heart. When this game comes out, I wonder how the world or community will react to it. The art style to this is amazing and I can't wait for the full release. For my final act, THIS BETTER NOT BE CANCELLED!

Debating whether I want to back $28 or $60. I do like physical things, though I'm mostly wondering if the digital copy does or doesn't include the non-physical slipcase exclusive backer-only content.

My question of whether the normal digital edition had the game-related backer content has been answered by the edition of a Special Backer Edition Digital Copy. Both the physical and digital are $60, so I guess I'm backing $60. Now it's a case of whether I want a physical slipcase, or digital soundtrack and a PDF of the retro strategy booklet. Or maybe I should go for the $100 backing.

EDIT: Oh shit, David Hayter is the voice of Gebel, that's awesome.

In case anyone would like to know (and I think someone here would), a stretch goal for a Wii U release was added yesterday. Needs 3M to get there though, but obviously has most of that already.

So combined with the Paypal backers, this game has reached over $4.5mil, which is amazing. I'd love it if it could reach $5mil in the next 28 hours for procedurally generated dungeons, but I doubt that'll happen. Either way, I'm excited for how far this KS came.

I also thought this recent update brought something really cool:

"Remember Natsume's Shovel Knight fanart from earlier in the campaign? It's been about a decade, in Kickstarter years, so I'll refresh your memory:"

KTNEGO6.jpg

"We've got good news: Inti Creates and Yacht Club Games have agreed that Natsume's reimagining of their hero feels right at home in the demon castle! They won't tell us any more than that, but when the game comes out remember that you might bump into this guy in a crowded corridor somewhere. Who knows what might happen after that?"
