Chiri Tsukikawa
I would if I could. To at least 50. =D But this kind of thing doesn't realistically happen everyday, so there's not much point-desu-pri.
Maeriberii Haan
Only encourage rep spamming. So nope nope nope.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
We can just modify the group privileges as to allow more, but like Nai mentioned, it'd only encourage rep spamming so it's a no go. Just be glad that it isn't 3-4 like in the MyBB days (yeah, I actually still remember from five years ago).
Nathanael D. Striker
If anyone needed the ability to give more reps, it's me and the other frequent contest hosts.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
In this case, it's basically you and myself (possible Nai also) for the purpose of the Leaderboard, SCS and CC Monthly tournaments respectively. Oh yes, and Voltex to some extent; I know he has a few from time to time. Although for the most part, I don't even know how many reps staff members are allowed to give. (I usually don't exceed mine anyway, if any) I know for the rest of you, it's 16 or something.
ihop
Is "people might abuse x new feature" really a convincing argument not to go ahead with something? If people really do abuse it then mods can take action, but I don't like the concept of good ideas being shot down because they might be misused by a minority. I mean, I could edit my sig to have a hardcore porn video or something in it, but that doesn't mean sigs shouldn't exist.
Maeriberii Haan
Thing is, however, the increase of the daily rep count serves no purpose than just that, encouraging rep spamming. If people can actually give actual reasoning why they wanted or needed this, then it can be reconsidered, but so far, no one in the thread (aside from striker, kinda) had said anything regarding why do they want this for. Not all changes should happen first to see whether they're good or not.
·Toot
Who would even think of rep spamming? That's absurd.
Nicο
This is clearly mostly a joke thread, but it does raise the point of certain member groups benefiting from an increase more than others, and I suppose it wouldn't be bad for at least the mods to have that. I mean, I could edit my sig to have a hardcore porn video or something in it, but that doesn't mean sigs shouldn't exist. What you're not taking into account however is that if someone were to "abuse" it, how would we even know? It's not like we're going to keep tabs on every single person and document exactly how many times they rep per day. And yes a "good idea" would be worth investing the time and effort into problem solving, but as Nai said, this literally just encourages rep spamming, how is that a "good" idea. In my opinion the allotted 16 reps is already high as fuck, there's no need for it to be raised any higher.
Agro
I just wanted it closer to 15-20. There are just days every once in a while where quite a few people like enough things to want to rep them, not THAT much more, but just enough more. A small increase to 15 isn't likely to increase rep spamming any more than it exists now. I mean it helps that rep spamming isn't an actual problem in the first place, even with unlimited reps. Agro
It's 16 at the moment, if I'm not wrong. huh, I thought it was at 10. In that case, 20 is fine. Isn't it? Rep abuse isn't a problem and even if it were, it's a harmless one.

Rep abuse isn't a problem and even if it were, it's a harmless one. Most of the forum's problems can be said as "harmless". Spamming is harmless to an extent, etc. But that's not really the point. People rep-spamming just devalue the concept of reps, in my opinion. It's not a matter of "lol who cares about rep count anyway" because some people do care about them. It might be something minor, yeah, but it's still an issue that could just be avoided by not doing it. Giving small increases here would give a precedent for further increases in the future, and it's not like people actually need all 16 atm in a day. And I tbh think that the ceiling's too high atm. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Just keep it as is, Nai. If we're going to edit the rep counter, bring it up with Night and the other mods; not edit it ourselves. And realistically, I don't use all of my allotted reps (except for CC monthly things, and maybe other noteworthy posts). Again, I don't even know how many reps mods get.
