Bujinji!

Recommended Posts

  • Centipede is a searchable-ish MST, but fetching it means that you're not putting Hare/Turtle in your Graveyard, meaning Yamato ends up less protected than if you had just dumped a Hare/Turtle. I'd rather just have MST, and even then MST hasn't been that great of a card this format IIRC. Quilin, on the other hand, can afford to stay, but not higher than 1.
  • As bonkers as Bunjincarnation is, it clogs at 3. Plus, if you're going to run Mikazuchi (who I'd run only @1 at most), it's searchable.
  • Hirume makes the Deck go and should likely be a 3-of.
  • With only 5 Normal Summonable Beast Warriors, why is Tensu here? Also, FF Bear is a cute tech.
  • Amat is virtually unsummonable in her own Deck outside of the Hirume+Arasuda play. Js.
  • The Sword is slooooooow and not worth running, at least @3.

I'd say more, but I haven't touched my Bujins since last format or so.

first- wheres the sinyous? second- you have no backrow negation (what if your opponent plays the torrential-or dank hole?) third- bujincarnation is situational as all hell. two quilin if fine. 4. at the very least dside effect veiler or breakthrough- because dark law is a thing and kills this deck.

It's like the best card in the deck. If Bujincarnation is ever dead for you, then either your build or your play is horribly wrong.

or its not- becuase i either control a monster already and thus cant use it- or i get otked without being able to use it....or dark law has appeared. carnation is not good in this otk based format- by the time you control no monsters- you're already dead.

If you have a board, you just hold off Bujincarnation in your hand. Simple as that.

OTK based format? January 2015 called. It wants its name back. Most decks are back to the grindier versions. Sure, they CAN OTK, but not a lot of people focus on it anymore.

Even in January, it wasn't that awful. He is mistaking OTK format for "You are garaunteed to lose if you go 1st"

Bujincarnation is NOT bad, but it IS situational.

Bujins are all about hand advantage.  When you dead draw in bujins, you DEAD DRAW in bujins.  It hurts, and it makes the deck marginally harder to survive long enough to play.

Carnation is completely useless in the opening turns, and those are the turns that matter most.  Decks that can't get rolling during the first few turns are gonna have a bad time.

That's why carnation should be run at 2 or maybe even 1. It's been outclassed by the speed of the format.  In order to keep up bujins cannot afford the potential dead draw, regardless of whether or not you are playing control or Bujintei turbo.

The thing with Peacock is that it's slooooow-ish. It searches Mika, but so does Tenki. It searches other things, but so does Yamato/Susan. It's still a nice card (but sloooooow), except for one problem: You can't play Tenki, Tensu (speaking of which, why is it still here? And bumped up to 2 O.o), Duality, IF, or any of your non-Bujin Xyzs the turn you Peacock.

Also, speaking of sloooooow, Constellar Omega->Ptolomy is just that.

Yeah Ptolemy was just thrown in for lols.

Peacock is slow tbh. What to replace it with though?

Tensu speeds the deck up allowing you to get out Yamato and something else that works well with it in the same turn.

You can try a Sinyou; unlike Crane you can add it and them dump it with Yamato (whereas with Crane you'd have to dump something else which may not always be a good thing). Not sure if it'd be really good though. Also, a third Hare or Turtle comes up in most builds I've seen (more often Hare, but it depends on what's relevant). Forbidden Lance can also be really nice to save Yamato/Susan/whatever from a backrow or even as a way to steal a battle instead of Crane.

As for Yamato and Tensu, is there really anything that would be worth it aside from Mikazuchi?

Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention this, but Honest is crazy af with Susan. Swing at the opponent's strongest monster, drop Honest, and use that boost to mop up everything.

EDIT: I tried a second Arasuda before. Strangely, having 1 Arasuda makes me wish I had more, but having 2 is rather meh.

tensu is really not needed, you only can control 1 of each bujin so that extra summon isnt too necessary

I love kaiser Colosseum, and you can replace those 2 bujin relic swords with a burial from the d.d.

lolwut.

At most, Tensu would be for Yamato+Mika or one of the Grave-based Bujins + something that isn't Hirume. I don't really see much point in running it, but that's not the right reason to drop it.

I've never been much of a fan of Kaiser Coliseum (and IIRC there was a good reason not to run it, but can't remember it), but eh.

You can re-use Hare/Turtle/Quilin with Bujincarnation, which is a lot better than Burial here because you get a free Rank 4 (and a lot of them are good). There's also Amaterasu, who is only playable via Hirume+Arasuda or with No(r)den but lets you re-Summon Yamatos you banished for Hirume, or retrieve Cranes you banished for Hirume, or even just getting moar Hare/Turtle/Quilin/whatever. Burial from the D.D. doesn't offer anything like either of those do, it only just puts more Bujins back at once, and to use it most efficiently you're going to need to somehow dispose of your Hares/Turtles really fast.
