Needlebug Nest seems a bit redundant with the 3 Reasoning you have there. At the moment that is the only real problem I see, pretty solid other then that.

I thought so too, but no idea what else to put in, thinking of 2 Upstarts.

Upstart is always a very solid choice. I would have said ditch Wulf and go for the 3 but its nice to have a Beatstick on the Rare occasion.

Wulf is just because i want as many 4's to make minerva as possible, but he bricks too hard to run more than 1.

So yeah 2 upstarts it is.

I always put Raigeki in everything, could swap it in for an Upstart maybe. Killing a lot for nothing is useful everywhere.

good idea, the deck draws tonnes so more removal would be sweet, i honestly forgot it existed!

3 Felice feels like it can clog; cut it down to 2 to decrease chances of drawing into it? Also, if you're running Felice, you can run Mathematician, just saying.

 

Glorious Illusion is an interesting "tech", but I would take it out, in my opinion. How has it been testing?

 

Vanquishing Light can be taken out. Not only does it get rid of your advantage, but it only stops inherent summons based on how its worded, and even then I would just run Black Horn of Heaven, which is not that good anyways.

 

Lastly, Monster Gate, since you are already running Reasoning?

Didn't even notice how vanquishing was worded. Hm. I'm gonna take that out for 2 mathman, I wanted to put him in anyways.
Illusion is a better CoTH that helps make Minerva, in theory it's good.....

Why wouldn't you run triple JD?
 
Lightsworn support aside from Charge and Recharge is honestly shit and shouldn't be played.
 
Reasoning is horrible, there are so many dead targets in your deck like Felis, Wulf and JD.
 
You should probably run a secondary engine like White/Black Dragons or something else, for easier Minerva access and so that your deck doesn't boil down to "JD or bust".

Mathematician is far superior to Dawn Knight(w/e). Just sayin'

If you don't want to run JD then there's seriously no reason to run Lightsworns. It's like running Nekroz without Trishula or Valkyrus.

Felis can't be Summoned if milled with a spell/trap effect, so Wulf has more versatility. I agree with dropping Felis to 1, but 2 can also be fine if you really want to have more than 1.


True, Felix can go to 2 to bump math to 3.

This variant actually seems more focused on Synchro Summoning and Xyz Summoning, so Judgement Dragon isn't as much of a wincon as in other Lightsworn variants. The 3 Reasonings basically guarantee a Lumina/Garoth/Stuff to be Special Summoned, leading to more plusses by activating their effects.

 

Also, why Upstart at 2? It's either 3 or 0, in my opinion.

They are powerful without him in so many ways, if you don't run JD they aren't automatically bad or in fact worse, there is two ways to run them and the JD version became infinitely weaker when drulers took the axe.

Keep telling yourself that. Without JD, there's nothing this deck consistently does well. If your deck is by nature always inconsistent, then you need incredible power plays to win games.

They have the one or the most powerful level 7 synchros, they have a good R4 now, they have good swarm potential, but they don't burn their hand as quickly.
Is it really that they aren't powerful on their own?

Both of their bosses you mentioned are generic, soooooo...you could run any other deck and include them.

Materials for both of them are 2 Level 4 monsters and 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters, so, um...

any f***ing deck ever.
