Lasaro Ginjou
As I said on my Mythological Creatures Topic, I wanted to work on them as an Archetype instead. This topic is the embodiment of that idea. The main criteria for the monsters are focusing around on following mythology. Each monster has an effect based on that.
Here is a quick version of the Mythology that ties these cards in a Deck. The Deities were there long before any of them so I will just skip them.Medusa is the start because that is where the fun began.Perseus (son of Zeus) cuts Medusa's head using an Adamantine Sword and the Aegis Shield. The blood that spilled in the ocean gave birth to Pegasus and Chrysaor making them Poseidon's children.Later, Perseus uses her Medusa's Head to kill the monster that threatens Andromeda's life.Chrysaor and Callirrhoe had two children: Geryon and Echidna.Satyrs were as depicted in the artwork. In Mythology they would chase after Nymphs to drink and dance with them.Echidna gave birth to Orthrus, Cerberus, Lernean Hydra Chimera, Sphinx, Nemean Lion, Caucasian Eagle, Ladon, Colchian Dragon and a few others.Orthurs was killed along side Geryon by Heracles.Heracles asked permission from Hades before taking Cerberus from the Underworld. Most of Echidna's offsprings (that are mentioned here) were killed by Heracles as part of his 12 Labours. After which he was poisoned and became god.During the fight with Lernean Hydra, goddess Hera (I have to make her card also) sent Cancer to help Hydra. After killing Hydra, Heracles used her poison on his arrows.Heracles fought Ladon to retrieve the Golden Apples from their tree that was protected by Ladon. One of the 12 Labours was the defeat of Erymantian Boar. He asked for the Centaurs' help in that.Colchian Dragon was the protector of the Golden Fleece. At some point in mythology, both Heracles and Perseus, among others, journey to the underworld and return using Charon's Ferry. Here is my logic for the rest of the cards:Harpies where famed for their snatching abilities. This skill was put into use by the Furies who made harpies bring the criminals to them. The Furies would judge those criminals.Gryphon is Half eagle (king of birds) and Half lion (king of beasts). So I though using the Caucasian Eagle and Nemean Lion would be a nice idea.Ares is god of war and hence of battles.Helios brings light.Hephaestus makes the weapons and equipment.
So, here they are. Lasaro Ginjou
Here is how updates will work. I will add in comments like these the images of the new card I include. The "written" part will only be in the main post. Saves me time.1st UPDATESpell Cards

Trap Cards

Xyz Monsters

As you probably noticed all Xyz Monsters are Deities. That is because I wanted something special for all the deity monsters. However: Fusion Monsters need Fusion Materials but it doesn't feel right. I thought of Ritual Monsters but it becomes too much of a pain with Ritual Spell Cards. I don't like Synchro Monsters and I don't have Tuners either. I'm never going to make Pendulums because I believe that this card type messes up the whole concept of Yu-Gi-Oh card games up until that point. But I think Xyz fits quite well: The space background of the cards make them look divine. The Xyz Materials stay under it (like followers) and you make use of them for the effect (like gods used humans for their fun). The Rank instead of Level part makes them look different from the rest also. Summoning is not hard, and with limited amount of uses for their effects giving them strong abilities is not too much. These are my first Xyz monsters.. ever. So, what do you think?

Lasaro Ginjou
You think the Hercules Combo is a bit too strong?? I thought about it too. How about:instead of "adding counters for every Mython monster expect Mython Hero",I will "add counters for every Mython Beast and Mython Giant monster"??This would exclude not only Mython Hero but also Mython Nymph and Mython Deity monsters. This is more accurate with mythology as well. That better?

Lasaro Ginjou
I will use this chance to give an insight to everyone who does not know about the mythology behind this deck. Believe it or not the cards are all connected in a line of mythology. The Deities were there long before any of them so I will just skip them. Medusa is the start because that is where the fun began. Perseus (son of Zeus) cuts Medusa's head using an Adamantine Sword and the Aegis Shield. The blood that spilled in the ocean gave birth to Pegasus and Chrysaor making them Poseidon's children. Later, Perseus uses her Medusa's Head to kill the monster that threatens Andromeda's life. Chrysaor and Callirrhoe had two children: Geryon and Echidna. Satyrs were as depicted in the artwork. In Mythology they would chase after Nymphs to drink and dance with them. Echidna gave birth to Orthrus, Cerberus, Lernean Hydra Chimera, Sphinx, Nemean Lion, Caucasian Eagle, Ladon, Colchian Dragon and a few others. Orthurs was killed along side Geryon by Heracles. Heracles asked permission from Hades before taking Cerberus from the Underworld. Most of Echidna's offsprings (that are mentioned here) were killed by Heracles as part of his 12 Labours. After which he was poisoned and became god. During the fight with Lernean Hydra, goddess Hera (I have to make her card also) sent Cancer to help Hydra. After killing Hydra, Heracles used her poison on his arrows. Heracles fought Ladon to retrieve the Golden Apples from their tree that was protected by Ladon. One of the 12 Labours was the defeat of Erymantian Boar. He asked for the Centaurs' help in that. Colchian Dragon was the protector of the Golden Fleece. At some point in mythology, both Heracles and Perseus, among others, journey to the underworld and return using Charon's Ferry. Here is my logic for the rest of the cards: Harpies where famed for their snatching abilities. This skill was put into use by the Furies who made harpies bring the criminals to them. The Furies would judge those criminals. Gryphon is Half eagle (king of birds) and Half lion (king of beasts). So I though using the Caucasian Eagle and Nemean Lion would be a nice idea. Ares is god of war and hence of battles. Helios brings light. Hephaestus makes the weapons and equipment. Makes sense?
Kidan Dragneel
First I would Like to say its nice to see a Greek style Archetype which is actually a good running one but one thing just bugs me is that with the Mython Deity Ares and Mython Deity Helios since using the God of War art, it looked like you used the G.O.W Ares Art on Helios but that is just my nitpicking since well It threw me off but never the less its a good set. I did say I used the art from the Wikia but I never said I would use it for the exact same character. :PThe picture of Ares is a man in the Armor of Athena from God of War Ascension.Ares with the flaming head and glowing eyes reminds me more of Helios. Hence, their use. Thanks for your opinion.
Kidan Dragneel
I said it threw me off since I played God of War 1 and 2 but I am not complaining I am just a bit turned around so its all good to still see the art style used and now I have a question, well two 1. Why are the Gods all Fairy-Type? I mean if I may throw my two cents in I would think at least the big three would be different types such as Zeus=Thunder-Type, Poseidon=Aqua-Type and Hades=Fiend-Type but then I bet you have a reason 2. If you were going to do the Titans what would you make them since it seems the Gods are Xyz monsters so will the titans be like Synchro or Fusion or Ritual Monsters? If you were going to do the Titans what would you make them since it seems the Gods are Xyz monsters so will the titans be like Synchro or Fusion or Ritual Monsters? To answer your questions:1. I thought of putting different types but I wanted the attribute to show the type and using Fairy just makes them seem more Heavenly because Fairy-Types in Japanese are Tenshi which means Angel. If you still believe putting other types is better I don't mind changing them. That is also a good idea. So, let me know.2. Titans are indeed something that has crossed my mind. Thinking about it, I don't have Tuners and don't like them either so Synchro is not working. So, the solutions are:Fusions need specific monsters that wouldn't match the mythology unless I use the Xyz monsters as Fusion Materials. I don't know if it can be done though. Ritual is also an option. I would, however, make them quite strong since they would be hard to Summon that way.what do you think I should do?By the way, I changed Pegasus from Effect to Union to explain its effect to equip itself to other monsters. Kidan Dragneel
well I am just asking you don't need to change I can see why you made them Fairy-Type due to heavenly aura so you keep them like you have it and as for the titans I think yea I more vote ritual since well......I might like the other three summoning types but Ritual got the short end of the stick. Since the go in the Deck, making many will cause trouble to its functionality. 1 or 2 would be ok but 3 or more would be too much. I wanted to try Ritual but I don't want to only make a few. That's the problem with Rituals.
Kidan Dragneel
Well I would think like Cronus, Typhoon and Prometheus make it a Simple three and use the three most famous Titans and the three could possible use the same Ritual Spell and make it like "Mython Cronus Titan of Earth" "Mython Typhoon Titan of Skies" "Mython Prometheus Titan of Fire." or something like that and I know in actual Myth Typhoon wasn't a Titan but again my mind runs G.O.W logic

I want to go with the original Mythology regardless of my source of the Artworks.
Kidan Dragneel
well then the one to take his place would be Atlas so possible "Mython Atlas, Titan of the Seas" but these are just suggestions and a thing they could do is when the ritual monster is destroyed they set up next turn for a Mython Deity Xyz Summon. Lasaro Ginjou
well then the one to take his place would be Atlas so possible "Mython Atlas, Titan of the Seas" but these are just suggestions and a thing they could do is when the ritual monster is destroyed they set up next turn for a Mython Deity Xyz Summon. To be honest the more I think about it the more it doesn't seem like it matches this Deck. I don't know. What would you think if I change some monsters into Tuners and make them Synchro? That way, I can make something similar to Stardust Dragon. Using the Synchro monster and an effect monster to synchro summon a stronger Synchro monster. For exampe: I have Chronus as a Sycnhro Tuner monster. I can then use that to Synchro Summon Uranus who was his father. And so on.
Kidan Dragneel
that could work too and plus some of the Titans could be Tuners some could be Synchros or even Synchro/Tuners as said Cronus is a level 6 Synchro/Tuner who is needed to Synchro Summon the Level 10 Uranus and to summong Cronus you need a low level 2 Tuner monster which could be a Lesser Titan I don't know these are just suggestions. Lasaro Ginjou
Well, I don't have level 2 monsters here so I think I have 2 options: Change the levels of some of the monsters Make Synchros go by fours. Sycnro Tuner Level 8 and then Sychro Level 12. hmm.. decisions decisions...
Kidan Dragneel
or here is one final option, if you want to keep it Xyz Pure, using one Rank-up-Magic unique to this Archetype you can make your Mython Deity into Mython Titans
Lasaro Ginjou
That is actually a very very good idea. I love it. Thanks. That way I won't need to change anything.
Kidan Dragneel
yes and you just need to make 1 spell card to create them which is a specific Rank-Up-Magic targeting any of the Rank 4 Mython Deity and rank it up into the Rank 5 Mython Titan of your choice.
Lasaro Ginjou
I will do exactly that. By the way, if you have any artwork I can use for them it would be most appreciated. It is really hard to find the "right" artworks. Takes time.
Kidan Dragneel
I know that and if I might make a name suggestion for the Rank-Up-Magic? It could be called Rank-Up-Magic: Olympus Ascension?
