I have not played nor tested the deck yet, and to be honest I am not that interested in doing so, but still, I would like to optimize this deck as most as possible. Any tips/suggestions? (GigaDrillBreaker)
I am very much not a fan of Crush Card Virus, even as a "fourth mind crush". Swap for a second TtTHN?
Darj
I was told CCV was good because it can win games, but if in practice it is difficult to use, then yeah, I can spare it. I guess TTHN, maybe Dark Hole and Compulse should be good replacement choices.
ihop
The trouble with maindecked CCV is that you're playing 1 Falco and no Mathematician or Kuribandit so it's actually quite difficult to get to a target for it. It's a good card and it blows out a lot of decks but it has the potential to be dead a lot of the time, especially if your normal summons are taken up by Traptrix. I also don't like 2 Dragon anymore if you're building the deck to play against the meta. It sucks against Nekroz and it's very mediocre against Shaddoll. tl;dr -1 CCV -1 Dragon +2 Veiler (unless you want to dedicate yourself to Shek, the option to make Construct is always nice) For the side -2 Fiendish Chain (what is this for?) -2 Iron Wall (there are better things for Nekroz) +1 MST +1 Maxx "C" +2 Secret Village of the Spellcasters For the extra -1 Grysta (it's not good enough to waste an ED space on it for only core. If you have core you really want to be cycling construct) +1 Construct
Darj
yes, it's intended to stand against the meta so the -1 Dragon is understandable. I can it drop it and CCV, but I want to try without Veilers first because the gimmick here is to dedicate to Shekhinaga. I guess I could add more backrow, or a 2nd Falco, etc. Fiendish was more for rogues; I considered Veiler first but figured Fiendish would be more useful and the deck is focused on Shekhinaga anyways. IIW was for Necloths but after reading the thread on Secret Village I noticed it should be more effective; but I wanted to make sure first. Nephilim over Egrystal makes sense. Thanks. Βyakuya
CCV is not fit for maindecking anyways. Falco will guarantee targets for 1000 and below here and there, but save it for siding against Yosenju, Nekroz, and Dark Law/HERO. Have you ever considered Peropero? It was a popular OCG tech that was basically anti-OTK or at least something to intimidate the opponent.
Darj
Yes, I did consider Peropero, who also fits the deck nicely as an EARTH, but I couldn't find space for it. Would it be better than a 2nd Falco?
Βyakuya
IMO I prefer x2 Falco and x1 Hedgehog vs the latter. Falco is very good at reviving all the key Shaddolls while Hedgehog is a bit obsolete considering Falco is the best way to setup Hedgehog and I can already mill down Shaddolls from my Deck using regular Fusion. Peropero can be sided, but it's fairly good in main, so I might dump a Squamata/Lizard.
ihop
Peropero is excellent. Regarding Falco vs Hedgehog, never play less than 2 Hedgehog. I'd genuinely say it's the best Shaddoll bar maybe Squamata because it's essential in the mirror match to get you to your beast so you can tribute your fusion monster and not be at risk of Shaddoll Fusion, plus it's never bad an always gives you more fodder for your El-Shaddoll fusions. Falco, on the other hand, is an awful draw if you only have one Shaddoll monster which is even more relevant here since he doesn't have easy access to Construct to make another. I think 2 Hedgehog 1 Falco is a fine ratio.
Darj
Yeah, feeling like sticking with 2 Hedgehog because it can provide additional Shekhinaga fodder, plus what ihop explained on searching Beast when facing the mirror. However, I would still like to run a 2nd Falco for reviving stuff and maybe Synchroing a bit more, but space.
Sir Yamiegg
No Mathman is blasphemy. I realise you need your Normal Summons for the Traptrixes but it's the best monster in a Shaddoll deck. I'd drop a Beast and Bulb for 2 copies.
Darj
The thing is that I'm not a fan of Mathman (e.g. I would rather pick a Trap Hole or go Rank4 with the Maneaters than simply mill a monster) but I understand what you mean. However, I don't think Glow-Up and Beast are the best choices to drop: the former is what enables Naturia Beast, who can be a win condition vs. Necloths, plus other cute Synchros, and the latter, well... as far as a I know, Beast is a 3-of in any Shaddoll Deck. What I could do is -1 Dionaea and -1 Myrmeleo, basically cutting down the size of the Maneater engine for space; but if I can get away without Mathmans, then personally I won't run them. Darj
bump because I have noticed a couple of trends on Shaddoll decks here in YCM (e.g. x3 Falco, x2 Beast, maining Mistake) so I don't know what's good in Shaddolls anymore.
