  1. 1. Will Quetzalcoatl demonstrate the might that elevated him beyond Ubers or shall XD001 put a block in that mission with a Shadow Storm?

This is a coooool match, and the big images are good here. Anyway. Rayquaza has to get it for me. It's one of the strongest Pokemon in existance (stat-wise and lore-wise). For me the lore is really what gets me. It's basically the closest thing to Arceus. In that it's nearly god-like in its power and influence. In fact many treat it AS a god.

Plus that Delta episode....wow.

The joke is that Rayquaza might actually replace Arceus as the Pokémon god; considering Arceus hasn't gotten a lot of attention lately.

And yeah, Gamefreak didn't even release it legitimately in Gen 4 with Azure Flute.

But obviously, my vote's on Rayquaza/Quetzalcoatl due to nomination and a bunch of other things.

Hell, that's the one Pokémon that got itself banned from Ubers, and that says a lot when you get your own tier.

And then, his entrance music is godly.

I once had it on my profile for a while; it does command respect.

Lugia all the way!

I gotta admit that this matchup is amazing though. I was pretty close to voting Ray, but Lugia is the first trio master and stuff. It's also from johto which is always a plus for me and I adore the thing in the 2000 movie, so yeah.

This is one hell of a matchup.

Don't get me wrong, I like Shadow Lugia, it looks cool when it uses Shadow Blast, but Mega Rayquaza is badass too, and I enjoyed the Delta episode.

To decide my vote, I'm leaving it to a coin flip (R heads, L tails).. the result was heads, thus Rayquaza gets my vote.

The Delta Episode really got me to like Rayquaza more, and it's pretty cool and one of my favorite Hoenn legends.

But Lugia shall always have a special place in my heart. I never played Gold (except once when my cousin let me play her game) but I had Silver. While Blue was the game that made me fall in love with Pokémon, Silver is the game that made me realize Pokémon was more than just a game of monsters battling monsters, but that it was a whole world, with lore, mythology, and legends.

Never played XD, though I like Colosseum, so no opinions on Shadow Lugia, but regular Lugia is amazing enough for me.

Not to mention, Pokémon 2000 was just a gorgeous movie for me, and still is probably my ultimate favorite. The beautiful, soul-aching music, and that moment when Lugia rises from the waves, just amazing.
