Divine Divine-Beast / Effect
LV10 ?/?
Cannot be Special Summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon to your side of the field, or 3 Tributes of your opponent’s monsters to Normal Summon to your opponent’s side of the field. The control of this Normal Summoned card is returned to its original owner at the End Phase of next turn. (1) Cannot attack, and cannot be targeted for an attack or by an opponent’s card effect. (2) You can Tribute this card: Special Summon 1 “The Winged Dragon of Ra” from your hand or Deck, ignoring the Summoning conditions, but its ATK and DEF each become 4000.

Yeah, this just happened. I wouldn't say Ra is better now, but, this is kinda an improvement. Good freaking luck Tributing 3 of your opponent's monsters though.

They actually released Ra Sphere Mode? lol. Its a interesting idea that you can use monsters from both sides, a bit like Lava Golem to your Opponent. Also a guarenteed 4000/4000 Ra? Yes please! That puts it in the same league as Obelisk in terms of Real Life play. Still makes Ra meh though.....

this is really hilarous....in a good way

unless your opponent are using train or tribute summoned monster, less likely they can remove this

(unless they want to spend more resource to castel this or something)...waiting for 1 turn is fine

summoning fixed 4000 ATK RA can be fun, since you still have your LP to pop things, and can still have 4000 beater

will definitely build RA.dek when this come out

Edit: Oh and you can just use phantom of chaos to copy this, and get a free 4000 RA ^^

Pretty sure the opponent can just Tribute This card to activate it's effect, and get nothing out of it on purpose if only because it would screw it's actual owner over.

That aside, I find it amusing how they actually made this.

Nope, can't activate effects you cannot resolve. You are probably thinking of activating effects even though they would be negated, which is allowed.

yfw they run Ra too and you get your ass handed back to you

Ra doesn't have targeting immunity, just Compulse it back to their hand where it's dead.

So yeah, I think I read somebody somewhere saying this thing doesn't work with Ra's Disciple, and I can't figure out why that is. Can somebody please explain what I'm missing, or was that person just an idiot?

They're right. Ra's Disciple specifically names the 3 God Cards. Sphere Mode is NOT "The Winged Dragon of Ra", even though Sphere Mode has that phrase in its name.

The fact they're releasing Sphere Mode is one of the coolest goddamn things I've ever seen.

I know this heavily references Ra's whole schtick, but I feel like this also references Reshef of Destruction, where you unlock Sphere Mode first and Ra has 4000/4000.

The summoning to the opponent's field is neat, but not likely to happen.

It probably does. That's probably how the got the "Sphere Mode" part of the name.

Oh god, what if they also release Phoenix Mode? Then again, Phoenix Mode was so broken in Reshef, since you could discard it at will to Summon the 4000/4000 Ra.

The Anime Phoenix Mode was basically the TCG Ra effect and then 1000 to Raigeki your opponent's field. I think it will be something between that and being able to Tribute it to summon 4k Ra. On the topic of this card, this is quite amazing! I like what they are doing with it, taking Ra and actually making it decent I suppose. The Tribute 3 opponent's is kinda trolly, but unnecessary imo and might never go off. Hopefully, we see, more, would love to see Phoenix myself. Also would be awesome if they added in some of Marik's other cards. Then again, something like Zombie's Jewel would actually be quite scary to encounter.

Oh, I forgot it said that and just remembered "DIVINE monsters". Shame then.

I'm disappointed that you can't recite hidden ancient Egyptian text to gain control of it immediately.

Great beast of the sky, please hear my cry,

Transform thyself from orb of light and bring me victory in this fight,

Envelop the desert with your glow, and cast your rage upon my foe,

Unlock your power deep within so that together we may win,

Appear now in this shadow game as I call your name,

Winged Dragon of Ra!

I actually spent like 2 days memorizing this to heart.

Seriously, I'm just so thrilled by this card. Needing 3 Tributes is expected, but being able to Tribute 3 of your opponent's monsters to Summon to their Field is hilarious. Unlikely to happen, but it's like a Lava Golem that's useless to them, and comes back to you next turn. And then you can Tribute it to bring out a 4000/4000 original Ra, making that joke of a card actually threatening.

It's also immune to attacks and can't be targeted by opponent effects, which means YOUR effects if you Summoned it to the opponent's Field first (until it comes back, in which case it's your opponent's effects again), but you could use something that doesn't target, like Remove Brainwashing or Owner's Seal.

In fact, Owner's Seal would be particularly amusing, because then you break the seal on Ra's main form by Tributing Sphere.

I like how there's absolutely no restrictions on its Tribute effect whatsoever. You can do it in the same turn it was Summoned, and there's no penalty on the Summoned Ra. You can even copy its effect with Phantom of Chaos/etc, and no once-per-turn or "you can only control 1" clause.

But then what about Slifer and Obelisk? Are they just gonna wither away in the dust as Ra gets all this nifty support?

Well Ra sucks so he will needs as many support as possible to make him good. The other god don't really need it since their are somewhat playable
