I'm hating that the Escalation battle is timed. I can't be bothered putting myself under that pressure every time I want to level the battle up!

On a side note, is that angry thing that Giratina doing a things that's been around in previous escalation battles, or is it new?

Damn, Celebi's weak.

The last few Escalations, starting with Zygarde, had the chance to become enraged. It's likely a mechanic intended to make Escalation Battles less of a grindfest in general.

I was initially disappointed in Giratina having Sinister Power, but Dark is super effective against the same things Ghost is (Psychic and Ghost), so at least it has some synergy.

I'm up to Level 51 right now.

I kind of like the rewards so far. Level 40 and 100 give Skill Swaps, 70 and 150 give M-Speedups. Plus basic things like Disruption Delay at 50, and so forth.

I just find it peculiar that it has Sinister Power when Giratina has never been Dark. Ampharos with Dancing Dragons makes some modicum of sense considering its mega. I get the synergy, but would it have been broken for it to have the ghost variant of the type boosting abilities?

Yes. Yes, it would have been.

M-Gengar already allows a ridiculous amount of comboing and damage output. Spookify can enable Ghosts to deal more damage (doesn't work on Ghosts, sadly), and then buffing Ghost damage for a combo...yeah, a bit much.

I've gotten to level 135 now. 130 for a Skill Booster M was ridiculous. It had like...32000 HP. I beat it fine, using Attack Power Up and such, but just the fact it had 32000 HP when the previous levels had roughly 13000 was a huge jump. And then it goes right back to about 9-10 thousand HP.

On a side note, I used all my Skill Boosters on Shaymin to get its Sleep Charm to Level 4. It's beautiful.

Debating what other Pokes to use Skill Swap on. I want to use one on Mew for sure, but not sure what ability will help it the most. Po4+ is tempting for damage output. Don't need Barrier Bash+ because Cresselia has that, and Block Smash+ is cool, but not sure how useful that'd be.

The key battle levels always see MASSIVE spikes in HP. Been that way for a wile since you need to work for that special item.

Raikou and Suicune are likely the two best Pokemon to use it on.

Yeah, I know, I just found it a bit alarming by just how much it spiked. And Skill Booster Ms don't seem THAT valuable, but eh.

I've already done it to Raikou due to the M-Gyarados competition. I have 2 Swaps. Suicune is an option, but I bet I'd have to use Max Level raises to make it better, even with a buffed ability.

Tricky, tricky.

The tantrum mechanics for Escalation battles are starting to get real unsubtle. At level 124, Giratina got angry for a +5, which would land me on 130. He then got angry at 126, for a +3.

I've always suspected that the tantrums are specifically designed so you CAN'T skip the major milestone stages, but can skip the minor milestone ones.

In other news, I beat Stage 200. Cost a fortune, because I needed Complexity -1. Seriously, it had like 75000 HP or something.

I'm done with the Escalation Battles now, because the only rewards left are Exp Booster M x2 at 230, and Raise Max Levels at 250/300 (1 and 2, respectively), and I don't think it'll be worth the investment. Got to grind coins again, anyway.

So the Darmanitan/Manectric safaris are back, but with a twist. Now there's an additional Winking Pikachu and Raichu to get. That's not all, as once you've captured a mon, they have a chance to drop extra coins OR a EXP Booster M as you fight then via the presents. I fought Manectric and got 100 extra coins. So far I've gotten mostly 100 coins from a box, but also a 200.

Hoopa (Confined) has also made an appearance. It's Ghost-type, power 70, with Barrier Bash+. It has a base 13% catch rate, and gains 4% for each remaining move.

I hate it when you ace a stage on the first try and then every try after you fail terribly. Stupid Hoopa making me think it was easier than it really was.

Are you using Sableye? Because you totally should be. I B Ranked it second try, so I don't think it's TOO hard.

I used Gengar, though Sableye seems like he would have been decent. I got an A rank first try, so figured it would be smooth sailing. Failed the next 2 or 3 tries then beat it the following 2, catching it in a great on the last one.

I gather that the Winking Pikachu and Raichu are not that rare. I found both of them within 4 hearts. With about 10-15 total hearts invested into the Safari. I think I encountered everything at least once except Darmanitan, but I don't care about that.

The reddit thread is saying both are 1%. Either they are very wrong or you are insanely lucky.

I haven't found Raichu yet, as I've been enjoying a stupid amount of Electrike. Is it me, or is that stage PHENOMENALLY good at placing down barriers exactly where the best moves are?

It seems to only place them at the top and since those are easily the most disruptive it is an annoying stage.

I heard that they are very wrong. Other people had mentioned that they had come across them fairly easily.

As for Manectric being easier...this was back when the M-Manectric event was due the following week. Finding Manectric was the challenge, not beating it. Electrike was much more common.
