Oh, I know that. It's not hard to grind, provided you have nothing else to work towards that requires the money. Usually, I end up spending a large chunk to finish off my S Ranks or captures, etc once I've accumulated enough to justify tackling the steeper challenges. I've been behind slightly for quite a while, because once I finally finished M-Ray, they added another 50 stages. For the first time in a long time, I'm actually completely caught up.

This is probably how people manage to get so many M-Speedups, too. I've heard of people who have fully candied M-Rays, which is theoretically possible, but I doubt many have that. I assume the people who got that many are the ones who are caught up and grind a lot of coins, and then spend a massive sum in M-Competitions to place in the top 2k or whatever, and who are willing to devote time and hearts to Escalation Battles.

I don't do that, because I'm usually not caught up enough to consider the investment worthwhile.

Assuming someone has gotten every Mega Speed up they would have 63 which is kind of insane. Agree that I just don't care enough to do all that. I'm TERRIBLE at the time competitions so getting the Speed Ups is super hard. The Escalation Battles are doable, but I just get board doing the same thing. Normally when I have near max coins and most the Pokemon I care about at a high level I just play less.

Wait, it's 1 gem for 3 more tries? I assumed it was 1 gem a try, for a max of 3.

That's amazing. My current Meowth run "only" gave me 6000, but the investment of a single gem for 3 more runs is...fantastic. With that in mind, maybe I'll do that for Victini next week. I didn't consider Exp worth a gem, but 3 rounds of super Exp is more worthwhile.

I'm actually up to over 40k gold right now.

Sorry, but Victini is 1 for 1, so you only get 1 extra try for a jewel. I checked yesterday, which is why I knew about being able to buy more goes.

Ahh. But Meowth is 3 for 1? Beautiful. And it definitely happened last update, probably to ease the pain of the "100 coins" mission.

So I just did Sunday Meowth, and if you pay a Gem, you can play his stage again THREE more times. That's right, for the price of a gem, you can do the Meowth Stage FOUR times a week. I managed to get my 100 coins challenge done on one of the extra runs.

This increases the value of gems SO much. 1 for 3000 is terrible most the time. This is basically 1 for 15000.

Sadly, I used my last gem on Victini and I'm at 90K so I wouldn't even be able to make use of the Meowth money.

Curious, how much did you get in the run you got the 100 coin challenge?

And forgot to use ANY power ups for Meowth this weekend. OTL

Yeah, it's freaking awesome. I usually don't really ever want to spend a Jewel on anything. Occasionally, I used to spend them on bonus hearts (3 for 18), just for those times, every so often, when I don't want to wait a half-hour to retry a tricky, but do-able, stage. I very rarely ever want to do it for the +5 moves/10 seconds when I otherwise lose the stage (did do it to ensure victory at the Throh mission, because F RNG), and for coins...rarely worthwhile, though again, did do it once to smash M-Ray's S Rank out of sheer annoyance.

But even with a 2800 coin investment per Meowth run, one Jewel easily nets a profit of like...15000 for all 4 runs.

Something interesting happened when I was doing the M-Sceptile challenge. Apparently, a sparkle happens on occasion when you make a match, and you get a 1.5x damage boost out of it as well as also boosting all following combos for that one move. I tested it with a full Fire team, and then with M-Gengar just to see if it was because my team was all one type. Apparently the bonus damage is completely random, and is inherent to the stage itself. I think this will also apply to other Mega Stages as well as maybe Escalation Battles, but I can't say for sure.

So, I tried again, and managed to score the boost with Ho-Oh's Power of 5+, and did 3600 damage to M-Sceptile with Attack Up on. Not only that, but my top score is now 60763 thanks to a 1.5x uber combo. And I just checked, and the top score for Oceania is DOUBLE my own. And this wasn't a hacked win either.

It's a different format, called "Fast Match" or something, and it's inherent to this M-Challenge. If you make a match quickly after your last one, you get a bonus of like 1.5.

I did two runs. One just to figure out how the stage worked, the second to use an Attack Power Up. So my score is like 70k, and I could probably get it even higher if I wanted.

EDIT: My score is 61k, and I'm currently in place 482.

Since I have everything and nearly max money I've been grinding Pokemon to max level. I have like 43 at max atm with most of the other relevant pokemon at level 9 with a handful of 8s. I'M RUNNING OUT OF THINGS TO DO!!!!

At least new week means new update.

Landorus-T will provide a small distraction. Zygarde 50% however is an escalation battle so I have my major one for a few days.

Yeah, caught Landorus - T. I find it ironic that its ability is slightly worse than Incarnate form. It has Risk Taker vs Incarnate form's Power of 5+.

Zygarde is a very...interesting escalation battle. It seems that it "becomes angry" occasionally and its level will jump by 3 for one round. That could reduce some of the pointless grinding.

I had all but stopped playing when my coins had reached like 60k, and then I threw a chunk of the money trying to maintain my "top 2000" in the Sceptilite challenge before deciding it wasn;t worth it. So I'm currently sitting on like 35k

I actually missed the Sceptilite despite being on Top 15000 just yesterday :/

I hope it doesn't take too long for them to repeat the event.

Also, Zygarde 50%'s tantra allow for you to skip up to at least 5 levels. Unfortunately, I happened to find that out after my hearts have worn out :/

At least it's got a neat ability (Barrier Bash+), and I already succeeded at catching it.

I actually got top 1000 in the Sceptile comp. Mega Blaziken did amazing work.

Remember for Risk Taker you can avoid the ability if you make matches with it second. Its annoying, but it can lower the odds that you'll get randomly screwed.

Also, I LOVE that we can skip level in the Zygarde stage. I've skipped like 15 levels already and am already at 33. Since I don't have much else to do in game I'm just going to see how far I can get. Rewards go until stage 300, so going to be at this for a while.

Agreed, loving the ability to skip levels, if only because difficulty doesn't really spike much in escalation battles except for like...the multiples of 50, so it's a bit too much of a chore at times, due to the heart investment without much reward.

I do have the weird tendency of enraging Zygarde after spending my last heart, so then I dip into my (very small) stock of extra hearts. But I'm now at Level 39 with an investment of maybe 25 hearts.
