evilfusion
Argh! More main stages? But...I still haven't beaten 300! And a new Safari? There go my grinding hearts. Caught Beedrill at least.
Flame Dragon
Jesus. I just checked the counter on the new stages. Its 50. O_0 Also, after looking through the full list, nothing really looks worth training. The few that have 70 power are all worse then the options the type already has. Shame :/
Zextra
Caught Beedrill itemless, then I decided to splurge and used the unlimited hearts for an hour power-up (on mobile; I don't know if it's available on DS). An hour was just enough for me to catch all the safari Pokemon, since Alakazam took a ridiculous number of hearts to encounter, and I had to look for it twice - the first time I encountered it, I failed a great ball at 64% and it ran away immediately. But at least I can go back to grinding on Meowth in peace before I attempt the new stages~

I decided that since we have 20 more normal stages then I was expecting that I'd just do the special stuff first. Got Bedroll first try without anything. Burnt all my extra hearts to grind through the safari. In 10 plays I got 1 pokemon. Kadabra being a coin stage is a nice bonus, though I'm SUPER close to the coin limit so I might jump back to the main stages so I can burn some money. The Warden
So far I've snagged Oddish, Vileplume, Abra, Kadabra, and Tauros. I have yet to find Gloom or Alakazam.
Pchi
And with the release of Koffing, we finally have a Pokémon with Barrier Bash that's SE against Fairies :DToo bad it's only regular BB and its BP is only 50... you'll need to level it up a bit to make it worth using it over Cresselia or Diancie. The Warden
Welp, they ruined Alakazam. Power 70 yes, but they gave him Risk Taker as an ability.
Flame Dragon
Ala isn't helped by Mewtwo easily being one of the best Megas in the game. Honestly, looking over the 70 power mon we got, I think maybe 1 or 2 are actually worth training. Everything else is outclassed by other stuff with that type. The Warden
I'm up to Seismitoad, and my enjoyment is gone. Why... why do they do this? Why do they make pointless arbitary fake difficulty by doing jabroni things like insta-barriers of the top funking row?
evilfusion
Still haven't encountered Vileplume, but caught everything else in the Safari. There seems to be a weird glitch with Kadabra and Oddish, though (both of which start the stage with a single coin in the bottom right corner). Kadabra generates coins when down to about half health, but if you beat it without matching coins, you get 0. Not even the 30 as usual (and matching coins gives you just the amount you matched, not X + 30). Oddish I don't think generates coins, so it ALWAYS gives you 0. Which makes encountering Oddish almost literally the waste of a heart. And I've encountered Alakazam like 3 times, and I think it supposedly has a smaller encounter rate than Vileplume. Use disruption delay and +5 moves for the S rank. Still haven't encountered Vileplume, but caught everything else in the Safari. I've seen Plume twice. Which made me sad since I spent 5000 gold to catch he the first time. Seriously, I've had terrible luck catching stuff. Plume and Alakazam both needed two great balls even though both had over 60% catch rate when I used the first one and I'm still trying to get Abra and Gloom. Apparently Oddish and Kadabra generate coins if you get a large enough combo (believe 22). Pretty sure the past safari stages that had coins also gave 0 normally so that isn't anything new. Pchi
I've been storming through the new Safari with M-Gengar+Genesect+Heracross. There's only Alakazam left, but I've met Vileplume at least thrice so far. Not the first time I get reversed encounter rates for the rarest ones compared to another member. The Warden
I've managed to snag all of them, so I'm back to grinding. Sadly, none of the safari mons are worth using.
evilfusion
I finally managed to catch Plume earlier. And then I beat stage 300! And got weirdly close to the S Rank (missed by a few moves, but I had horrible luck with the skyfall at several points, and I wasn't aiming for the S Rank anyway). So I'm coin grinding a bit, since I realize there's a ton of new stages so I may as well go into them decently stocked.
Pchi
My experiences at the newest safari and its predominance in Pokken's "competitive" scene made me realize M-Gengar is broken no matter what media it's in.
Flame Dragon
Finished the Safari and now doing the main stages. My guide to S ranking them Pansear: +5 moves and Mega Swampert should get you the S rank. Paris: Mega Aero might get you the S rank without +5 moves. If you do need anything, +5 should be it. Phantump: +5 moves is enough for the S rank. Though just using Phantump might be good enough to get it without spending any gold. Spoink: Don't need anything. Koffing: +5 should be enough. Parasect: Don't need anything. Murkrow: Disruption Delay and +5 moves are the safest things for the S rank. Trevenant: First stage that is hard to beat normally. Disruption Delay and +5 moves for the S rank. Grumpig: Stage can be annoying, but doable with just +5 moves. Weezing: I don't like clouds anymore. Stage is surprisingly difficult. Needed +5, Mega Start, and Disruption Delay for S rank. Spearow: Can be S ranked without +5. Just use Aero. Panpour: Can be S ranked without +5. Growlithe: Can be S ranked without +5. Just use Aero. Spheal: Beat the stage to S rank. Pansage: Can be S ranked without +5. Recommend Blaziken as the Mega. Tyrunt: +5 moves is all you need. Go for Max Damage output. Sealeo: Doable with just +5 moves, Mega Steelix, and Jirachi. Fearow: Mega Start and +5 moves. I used Amp for the S rank. Mankey: Disruption Delay and +5 Moves with Mewtwo. Tyrantrum: Mega Start and +5 Moves with Aero got me the S rank, but it was VERY close. Magikarp: Use the king of karp. Aside: Also, I have the worse luck in the world. I've had over 35% every try to catch Spoink and have failed 4 times so far. This game hates me. NINE TRIES. NINE TRIES AND STILL HAVEN'T CAUGHT SPOINK. MY LOWEST ODDS WAS 29% I'VE HAD 47% TWICE THE OTHER SIX TRIED HAVE BEEN 35% OR BETTER WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? TEN 11 was my lucky number. Flame Dragon
About half way into the new stages. Not bad since the safari ate a fair bit of time. Will hopefully be done before the next update. Speaking of. The king of karp has evolved. Gyarados' special stage appears. Charizard also gets a downgrade with his Mega X contest starting now. Simisear: This stage is dumb. He randomly makes barriers or a soft and hard blocks. I had only seen the barriers show up when was nearly dead, but he actually can use them whenever. +5 moves and Mega Start for the S rank. Make sure to bring Palkia and hope he just makes few barriers. This might be one of my least favorite stages. Like, with those even the cheap ones followed rules. This is just total coin flips on which disruption he uses so it can be fair or totally obnoxious.
evilfusion
Charizard X is a downgrade? Oh wait, it's going to be a Dragon-Type. That's...actually interesting, but useless. If Charizard goes from Fire to Dragon when equipped with X, and Mewtwo goes from Psychic to Fighting when equipped with X...what good does that do? When would you want a Fire-type to become a Dragon (only good against Dragon, and Dragon resists Fire) or a Psychic to go into Fighting? Got Gyarados. Scored over 30k on M-Charizard X, so probably set for that. Ooh, that code was worth 5k coins! I'm so annoyed at myself for botching a M-Ray S Rank run by mistakeningly unequipping the Disruption Delay, and therefore wasting the 11k coins when the disruptions screwed me over. I'm also taking your approach to S Ranks. Rather than rush through all the stages and then backtrack, I've been tackling stages in groups of 3-5, and focusing on S Rank and capturing before moving on, taking time to grind more coins when the need arises. Obviously, still need the M-Ray S Rank, but otherwise, I've gotten all the captures and S Ranks up to Trevenant (need S Rank), need to capture Grumpig, and stuck on Weezing. Also still need Pory-Z. Such an irritating stage without items. Beatable, but terrible catch rate.

Such an irritating stage without items. Beatable, but terrible catch rate. Yea, the type change Megas are weird. At least you can jump to them via Mega Start, but why would you ever use Zard X when Ray is one of the single best Megas in the game. I think I got mid 40k so I should be good. Only issue is it took a huge chunk of money from me. Likely going to grind some more soon. So far these stages have been more money hungry then the last batch. Still not as bad as the batches of 10 though. I like taking my time mostly because I don't want to make sure I've done everything before moving on. Never been in a rush. Weezing's stage is annoying. Like, thats one of the few stages I felt a need to use all but -1 complexity. What I did for Z was just wait for a super catch. That normally got the odds into the 30s and if it failed I'd just reset so as to not lose money.
evilfusion
Managed to get the M-Ray S Rank now. That is the only progress I've made outside coin grinding, but let's face it, it's a BIG milestone.
The Warden
Is it me, or does Dodrio have FAR more health than the number of moves should honestly allow? *Checks Serebii* It has 17000 health. You need to do more than 1000 damage per turn to beat it. That's bullshit for how little that level makes combos.
Flame Dragon
Managed to get the M-Ray S Rank now. That is the only progress I've made outside coin grinding, but let's face it, it's a BIG milestone. The Mega-Ray stage is a jabroni, so congrats. Personally I'm back on the coin grind since Zard X, Gyarados, and Simisear and a ton of money. Is it me, or does Dodrio have FAR more health than the number of moves should honestly allow? *Checks Serebii* It has 17000 health. You need to do more than 1000 damage per turn to beat it. That's bullshit for how little that level makes combos. I hate using Great Balls. I used them on that stage. Yea, it was really dumb. Exeggcute: At most you'll need +5 moves. Golett: At most you'll need +5 moves. Magnemite: Puzzle Finneon: Can be done with +5 moves but its close. Recommend Venusaur. You can get really screwed depending on how it does its disruption though. Delay is worth it if you don't want to risk the bad luck. Sandile: Can be S ranked without anything. Recommend Mega Swamp. At most you'll need +5. Magneton: Can be S ranked with just +5 moves. Teddiursa: At most you'll need +5 moves. Magnezone: Disruption Delay and +5 moves might be enough for the S rank. Use Mega Start to be safe since its close. Simipour: +5 moves and Disruption Delay for the S rank. Recommend Roserade. Kabuto: You don't need anything, though you'll need some luck from the drops. Smoochum: At most you'll need +5 moves. Mega Blaziken might be enough to do it without. Simisage: +5 moves might be enough. Recommend Reshiram and Mega Blaziken. Mega Abomasnow might also work. Got 7300 gold in this weeks Meowth. Think thats the best I've ever done.
Zextra
I managed to S-rank Mega Mewtwo X with a full item run (which, supposedly is necessary for him), but I still have way too many stages to catch and S-rank between stages 200 and 300. But before I get to that, I have to grind to replenish my coins. I think I went from 70k to under 10k in a day...
