You guys already have the Mega Stone and here I am still trying to catch the damn thing.

For the record I've clear 24 stages so far and still no catch. At this point I'm just enjoying getting to complain about my horrible luck.

That's oddly rare for an Escalation Battle. All the previous ones, I usually capture around stage 8-13. On the bright side, once you hit Stage 50, you have a 100% of capture with Great Ball.

I caught Darkai at ONE PERCENT!!! No idea why the last batch of Pokemon have just REALLY hated me. And if I still haven't gotten Latios by then something is clearly wrong with my luck.

I dunno. Statistics and odds are just a guideline, and not absolute. But it still is very possible to fail on 20% chances multiple times since you only have a 1 in 5 chance to succeed each time. 4 versus 1 tends to be a decent sized odd, so yeah, it is possible to fail repeatedly up to 50% chance because the game arbitrarily decides the RNG, and can make it very likely for you to fail for no other reason than computer-based spite.

Agreed. Which is why I'm wondering how much of the gambler's fallacy this is. Statists is weird and the only real reason to have the percentage showing is to give the player a general idea for how long it will take to succeed.

It gives the maths-based determination, but not reality based. There is no true RNG, as anything computer generated is manipulated to some degree. It's never truly random, which is why the ball can shake once on a 75% chance before the pokemon busts out, despite it being a 3 in 1 chance to succeed. Maths and reality are two completely separate concepts, and only one does what you want it to do.

If there is any benefit to this, it's that so far, only stage 50 has even been hard. As in, it's the only stage I've ever actually lost on. All the others can quite easily be beaten within the time limit.

Yeah, agreed. Stage 50 is the only hard one in Escalation Battles. Some are hardER than the previous ones, but 50 is usually the only one that can take me 3 or more tries, or requires items. For this one, I used a Disruption Delay and Attack Power up, because Attack Power Up didn't help by itself due to how the stage threw disruptions out that locked me from making progress. Since then, I've gotten to stage like...77, and it hasn't been remotely "hard".

Yeah, I'm up to 86 now and it's still easily beatable. I also used Attack Up and Disruption Delay, because the bastard spammed disruptions faster than I could get rid of them.

EDIT: I've now beaten 100. You'll wanna go in with an Attack Up and Disruption Delay, as he's even spammier than round 50 now.

Yea right now I'm back to grinding coins. Have like 44K atm. Going to spend money on the new special stuff once I'm at 60K.

Luckily Steelix's stage isn't hard.

And as an FYI, Serebii says his Mega Effect is to remove up to 10 blocks. Not sure if that means both hard and soft or only hard. Its a good effect though limited in how good it might be in some places.

Isn't that basically what Aerodactyl's mega effect is? I'm pretty sure Stabilize misses barriers.

Agree barriers often often end up being one of the biggest problems which is why I like effects like Mega Lucario's since they can clear out stuff really. The next best are ones like Gengar's which allow for more combos.

According to Serebii, it seems that M-Aero says it erases ROCKS and blocks. M-Steelix says it erases blocks. So it seems like it'll be M-Aero, but not as good since it only hits the unbreakable blocks and NOT the breakable ones.

But, keep in mind Aero is a base 60 Rock and Steelix is a base 70 Steel. Mawile, the other competitor for Steel Mega, is base 50.

So you get more base power than either M-Mawile and M-Aero, but a more restricted ability.

I don't think thats bad though. The breakable ones are more of an issue and most stages have them together anyway. I'd argue its about as good as M-Aero.
