Card A

Monsoon Butterfly

WATER, Insect, Level 4

When this card is Normal Summoned, you can send 1 WATER monster from your hand to the Graveyard to target 1 WATER monster in your Graveyard: Return it to the Deck. You can send this card you control and 1 WATER monster in your hand to the Graveyard: Draw 1 card. You can only use each effect of "Monsoon Butterfly" once per turn.

If this card is selected as an attack target by an opponent's monster: Negate the attack; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or Deck with the same Level and Attribute as the monster that attacked this card. The effect of "Baby Seadragon" can only be used once per turn.

[Northern Sage]

Card A has weird and restrictive typing, two very meh effects that aren't very cost-effective (-1 that thickens the deck and -1 with a net draw) built to set off Mermails and whatnot, but its typing just destroys that potential.

Card B is kind of like Decoy Dragon, but better. Even if it doesn't really have any thematic connection, it's kind of innovative. There are enough deck types to make this thing interesting, and always the mirror matches to consider too.
