DuelSpectre
1 Dynatherium (Easy R4, gives opponent monster for Scattershot, turn 1 Lavalval.) 3 Royal Flamestorm Guards (Pot of Avarice; loop Raigeki for days) 3 Volcanic Rocket (Stratos) 3 Volcanic Scattershot (Raigeki) 3 Volcanic Shell (Fodder) 1 Book of Moon (Good card) 2 Magic Planter (7 continuous traps; good for use on a FIendish Chain / Reload) 3 Pot of Duality (Consistency) 3 Upstart Goblin (Consistency; 1000lp is insignificant) 3 Blaze Accelerator Reload (MVP) 3 Fiendish Chain (Good card) 3 Mind Crush (Best unlimited trap; use to see opponent's hand, discard pointless Shell / Reload (without any targets in hand) in hand. Leads to clutch guesses as well.) 3 Mirror Force (Testing proved Mirror Force to be effective; I could take it out for CEV, BTH, etc.) 3 Reckless Greed (Was testing this card; was pretty effective, and drawback doesn't really matter due to Reload) 1 Ring of Destruction (More burn, field control) 1 Torrential Tribute (Chose this out of the 4 limited traps for its "tempo control") 1 Vanity's Emptiness (http://i.imgur.com/ZlJmXe9.jpg) ---------------------------------- Side deck could be better, I never really paid much attention to it. Might change it once I better understand what is meta (besides the obvious ones) and what hurts this deck. --------------------- Extra Deck is pretty generic. Only card I run worth discussing is: 1 Infernal Flame Vixen (2700 Beater, banishes 3 on destruction, looked good to me; added)1 Heartlandraco (Mostly for 2000LP poke and "synergy" w/ Blaze Accelerator.) ihop
Looks solid, but Vanilla Blaze Accelerator isn't worth it unless you play Monk and I don't really recommend that either. I'd drop it in favour of a Bottomless because that's still a very good card. Other than that, idk. I'm no expert but it looks to be a very decent build. DuelSpectre
Surprisingly, Vanilla Blaze Accelerator didn't test that badly. However, I will drop it since it looks bad on paper and could be replaced by better things. -1 Blaze Accelerator +1 Compulsory Evacuation Device (I feel that it has more utility than BTH). DuelSpectre
Bump. Made the following changes: -1 Doomfire -1 Compulsory +1 Ring of Destruction (Currently in testing; impact is marginal.) +1 Dynatherium (Makes R4 easier, turn one stuff.) And swapped around the Extra Deck a little. Noticed that this deck completely loses to Royal Decree and Macro Cosmos (which apparently appear 80% of the time). I've also faced quite a bit of Exodia for some reason. Lastly, this deck seems to win efficiently against Qliphorts, Satellarknight, Bujin, Batteryman, Blackwings, and Infernoid, but gets shut down by Nekroz (Dekka) and Ritual Beasts (Macro) in my testing. Also, Yang Zing matchup is a nightmare. Might be considering the following techs: - Accumulated Fortune (not especially hard to pull off with Scattershot creating 2 chain links, but may clog.) - Spiritual Fire Art (Basically one sided RoD, though not sure how live this card could be.) - MST (Might consider moving 1 or 2 to main due to lack of floodgate removal.) Current record is 24/6 with the losses being from: 1. Nekroz 2. Ritual Beasts 3. Saffira Herald 4. Gravekeeper's 5. Chain Burn 6. Yang Zing
(GigaDrillBreaker)
Have you tried monk? I like it for hitting t1 rocket as much as possible. Also helps justify blaze accelerator, which is a cool fun-of.
DuelSpectre
Have you tried monk? I like it for hitting t1 rocket as much as possible. Also helps justify blaze accelerator, which is a cool fun-of. I have tried Monk in my initial testing, and its effect was negated most of the time, resulting in a -1. It also loses value as you enter the mid-game, becoming a dead draw. I have since started using Dynatherium because it is live almost all the time, and has some synergy with Scattershot as it gives them a monster for you to destroy. I see the value in Monk > Rocket > Chain though, so I may try to retest Monk. In the meantime, I am currently testing the following changes: -3 Upstart (Consistency reduction is marginal on paper, and I believe it can be replaced with better cards.) -1 Royal Firestorm Guards (Again, reduction is marginal, but it may actually increase consistency by making sure it doesn't clog your hand in the early game.) +2 MST (With the constant floodgates I am facing, I feel that MST should be mained, as this is my only out to them. Only downside is MST can easily become a dead draw vs Nekroz, which I feel is a bad matchup already.) +2 Ojama Trio (I know what your'e thinking, but hey, testing is how YGO deck building works, right? My reasoning for this card is to add a sort of "floodgate" card outside of Vanity's. In theory, this can prevent most decks from swarming the field, and it gives the opponent some monsters to trigger a Raigeki + 2400 burn.)
DuelSpectre
Bump. The changes I made were surprisingly effective; MST took down loads of floodgates, and Ojama Trio was...actually really useful against everything that's not Nekroz (Primarily Qliphort, Satellar, and other spam decks.) Committed following changes: -3 Upstart -1 Guards +2 MST +2 Ojama Trio As the deck stands right now, it is really ineffective vs Nekroz and Yang Zing. Does anybody have any suggestions to make the matchup better, or should I just let myself be at a disadvantage whenever I face these decks?
