My final topic is the MewTwo for Super Smash Bros. There is so much hype about how you can get him. Wow! Do you know what you need? Both copies of the game! So, you need a 3DS, a Wii U, and two copies of the game! That is well over $600 for a tiny, virtual character. Why Nintendo? WHY DO YOU DO THIS?????

I can reply to the other stuff later after I finish homework, but this isn't true since he's available for $3.99 (or maybe $4.99, can't remember) for a single console.

And alternatively, you could just find a friend with a different console to pair up with. That's what I did.

I'm pretty sure every Nintendo fan has learned to cope with the fact Nintendo makes golden games but garbage executive decisions.

However

1. The whole mewtwo point is invalid. He costs $4.99, as mentioned previously, and if you own both games already, which many people do, then you're fine and get him free. A nice little bonus.

2. They didn't expect amiibo to sell out so quickly. They are making more Marth amiibos for a reason. Same with the adapters. They should have made more, but I can see them having been caught off guard by this.

3. The new 3ds is a new handheld. When the DS came out you couldn't use your GBA to play the games.

Nor could you play 3ds games on the ds. I really don't even see why people complain about this.

Lastly

I have a new 3ds XL

it fits into my pocket

For instance, you cannot upload any single YouTube video with Nintendo video game content without following their Terms and Conditions. In short, they want around 40% of your YouTube profits. They will automatically shut down any video not corresponding with this saying it was "infringing their rights!"

This is a multibillion dollar company! Surely, the fact that I had to buy games and consoles was not enough for them. They are beating the cash cow even more when they do not need it. Besides, almost all of those videos are GOOD PUBLICITY. Why are they shutting down videos that actually make Nintendo of Japan money? Its stupid! It is absolutely, incredibly, stupid!

Next up, is the Amiibo. I bought the Super Smash Brothers Game for the 3DS the second it came out. I found it amazing, if not a bit shallow. Then I hear of these Amiibo figures and I think "Wow, I want to get one of those!"
I can't. Why? I need to buy a brand-spanking-new version of the 3DS or own a Wii U and the game to actually use overpriced plastic figurines. But wait, they say, we are making a 3DS peripheral to scan for Amiibo! Great! When will it come out? We have no idea! It could be years before this little, overpriced scanner will be released.
Now, the scarcity of these Amiibo. Why in the world is Nintendo making these things in tiny batches? People are overbuying them, then scalping them for all they are worth on sites like EBay! Nintendo sure is not making profits from these scalpers? Why make so little? Give everyone a fair chance to collect them all. The Gold Mario Amiibo was so understocked that it was sold out in five minutes after its initial release.

Then, there is the Majora's Mask for the 3DS Collectors Edition. Wow, cool! Only fifty dollars for a Brand-Name game PLUS a cool figurine? Gone in seconds. Why? Nintendo did not stock their shelves with enough.

But what is most stupid is the NEW 3DS XL! WOW! PAY $200 FOR A GIANT MACHINE THAT WONT FIT IN YOUR POCKET! Wow! And now, they are making games only compatible with the New 3DS FORCING you to buy it! But, the Amiibo. Was it so hard to put a little, tiny code that you input manually into your game? It would give us people that actually bought the original machine when it came out a fair chance, not the ones who would risk it when it would become possibly obsolete!

Nintendo has been behind the times with video uploading for a while. They will learn. They honestly have no choice.

Um..........you still can buy the Amiibo. They still function has pretty awesome figures. The functionality they have with the game is pretty minimal truth be told so your not really missing much. Also, we have an idea when the scanner is coming out for the standard 3DS. The same day Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer comes out, which atm is slated to be in the fall of this year.

The Amiibo scarcity is NOT to Nintendo's benefit meaning, again, something will be done. As said, they have already promised more Marth Amiibo and many are likely to follow. Yes, Nintendo hasn't been good about meeting demand, but they haven't had the best couple years so them being pessimistic is a little understandable.

The New 3DS has a total of ONE game exclusive to it, Xenoblade Chronicles. If you know anything about that game you would understand why it wouldn't be able to play on the normal 3DS. In fact, watch the load times of Smash 3D on the normal vs. the new and you'll see a HUGE difference. If you already have a 3DS you have no reason to upgrade, but if you want a new one or don't own one its a VERY good choice. And the current system will AWAYS become obsolete at some point. DS became 3DS. Wii became the Wii U. No system is supported forever. Again, the new 3DS isn't a new system, it is largely techupgrades.

I know its been said already, but they stated the full info on Mewtwo 9 days ago during the direct. He is available to those that got the Club Nintendo deal starting on the 15th and everyone else can buy him on the 28th for $4 on a single system and $5 on both. All this is on the smash website.

1) Its actually $4 since TC clearly only owns the 3DS.

3) The New 3DS isn't even a new system. By and large its just tech upgrades. The only major game on it that can't be played on something else is Xenoblade and lord knows that wouldn't have been able to be ported to the standard model. So not only is the only thing you lose out on a remake (yes of a rare game). Also, I could easily be wrong, but I remember hearing that when the DS had its various system upgrades during its life some games were only playable on the new model and not the original so it isn't even like this is something new.

DSi had 3 games, none of which were produced or advertised by Nintendo. The most well known title was a digital title, something called "System Flaw." XC3D is interesting now because of how much advertisement has been put behind it, how well known it already is.

Yea, that is a pretty big difference. Again, I'm cool with XC3D since I don't think the normal 3DS could have ever handled the game and because its so rare getting more copies of the game out there, even if its limited to the New 3DS seems better than not at all. Not to mention Nintendo really seems to want to push the franchise so it makes sense that they'd market it so much.

How is the 3ds not just a DS with better specs and 3ds functionality?

or rather, what makes the difference between DS and 3DS larger than 3DS and new 3DS? or GBA and GBA SP?

We've been given no reason to believe the New 3DS is going to have a significantly different library than the Standard 3DS. Yes, Xenoblade exits, but its the exception, not the rule. Since you brought them up, this is very much like the GBA and GBA SP since I'm pretty sure the two had virtually the same libraries.

Uh...the GBA SP was just a flip version of the GBA, but also with lighted backscreen (a godsend). It didn't have any exclusive games, because it was just a different model of the same system. The DS and 3DS were significantly different systems, and the New 3DS is a 3DS with a significantly better processor, but still the same functionality.

Plz, I'm trying to fool myself into thinking they're completely different, so that I feel satisfied about the money I spent.

I feel like most people went GBA -> GBA SP. The SP was the perfection of the Gameboy line and a lot of what it brought to the table was included in the DS design.

The SP was brilliant

...

I'm sorry that was bad.

But no seriously, it was great. I <3 it, I gave it to my lil bro, even.
