Title says it all, what's your favorite Pokemon generation? Figured I'd throw this Poll up here cause it came to mind.

To help anyone who aren't sure.

Gen 1: Red/Blue/Green/Yellow

Gen 2: Gold/Silver/Crystal

Gen 3: Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and Fire Red/Leaf Green

Gen 4: Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Heart Gold/Soul Silver

Gen 5: Black/White and Black 2/White 2

Gen 6: X/Y and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

Since you've listed remakes in each gen, don't forget HGSS for Gen 4. My vote is for Gen 2/4, because the Johto region is my favorite, and Silver is my favorite rival. Team Rocket is my favorite evil team, and the way they expanded Giovanni's story in HGSS was cool.

Also, Voltorb Flip.

Nostalgia-wise, I'd say 2.

However, I think 5 was all around the best generation. BW2 are the height of the series, and XY were a bit of a downgrade, though understandable for the first part of the generation, and ORAS were plain disappointing.

If I can choose to divide it between different media:

Games: 3 - I probably still played it the most when it was their time. Hoenn (my favorite region) and the Kanto remakes, and it has more of my top 5 Pokemon (Blaziken, Mudkip, Adorable Neko, Piakchu). Of course I voted here because it looks like a games thing, but whatevs. In the mood to say something a little different.

Manga: 4 - A lot funnier than most, still keeps it's feels somewhere deep inside.

Anime: lol really? Well, sometimes it's okay. Anything but 5, probs still 3, as I love May.

I almost picked 5, for BW having my favorite story and characters overall, plus Golurk is my favorite Pokemon.

Off-Topic: Yugo, that sig is fucking fantastic.

I know, right?

I will say Gen 2 is probably my 2nd favorite since I liked that Gold and Silver added an updated Kanto region to explore 3 years later. The other games should do that sometime.

Also, forgot to say this for Gen 3, but they also had Colosseum and XD. Which were awesome and also need sequels.

Come to think of it, Orre would also be in my top 3 regions.

Gen 3 had it all.

EDIT: Plus, my favorite starter line-ups are Hoenn and Kanto's.

With Sceptile as my favorite.

'nuff said.

Gen 3 is usually my least favorite, just wasn't too keen on Hoenn, but I completely forgot about those. Those games were awesome.

Gen 1, you're my new least favorite, sorry.

Thanks, I knew I was forgetting something. XD

Anyway, Gen 5 is honestly easily my favorite. I liked basically every design in the game. And the story was awesome. It was the game that I was most excited while playing; I can't really explain why totally either.

I'm not really including the Orre games in this, maybe I should...nah, for now I'll leave it be as is.

This is sort of a weird thing to vote for, since the same region's games will be in two separate Gens because of remakes. Like, I switched my vote over to Gen 4 because of HGSS, even though the Sinnoh games would make Gen 4 my 2nd to least favorite on their own.

I would say my vote goes to Gen 3/4. SoulSilver, Platinum, and Emerald is one of my favorite Pokémon games and still is! The reason why my vote would also go to Gen 3 is because Pokémon Emerald was the very first Pokémon game I bought ever! Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are also pretty good remakes but I'd rather wanted them to remake Emerald.

Speaking of that, I know for a fact that there are rumors going on that they are remaking Emerald, Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl, which if true, I'm excited for this! I also heard rumors that they will be starting a new Generation. Yep, new Pokémon and all that stuff. The rumor claims that the next Pokémon game will be Pokémon Plus and Minus. You can check that rumor online. It's everywhere! As much as I want to believe that's true, I don't think we will be getting a new Generation at the moment because the 20th anniversary of Pokémon will be happening, so a remake of the very first Pokémon game makes sense.

But a part of me makes me feel like that's not going to happen because like Agro said, Pokémon will be celebrating their 20th anniversary pretty soon! So therefore, it makes sense that the next Pokémon game is a remake of Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. Also, I believe they will be airing a TV special.

I know that E3 happened and they haven' t revealed any Pokémon stuff, but I'm sure that during the 20th anniversary, they're going to reveal something big!

Still, Pokémon is the best!

4. I loved the Sinnoh region (particularly the route music), it was the first game that actually looked properly good and it introduced a bunch of really cool mons. It's also the first pokemon game I played properly aka when I wasn't 9 years old and I enjoyed it hugely, so there's definitely some nostalgia there as well.

Gen IV is my fav. I really ended up liking D/P/Pt and HG/SS were amazing, especially with the whole "Pokémon walking behind you" thing that happened in both regions (D/P/Pt in Amity Square and HG/SS just in general).

For anime, I'd say my favorite is the first season, mainly because I haven't seen much of the other ones. Manga I'm not sure.

Gen V due to the story and having a completely new set of Pokemon. Gen I is close for the fact trying to beat Brock in a Yellow nuzlocke when you can't find a Nidoran or Mankey is really difficult. Play Green on a emulator was fun as well, Brock was still hard with Charmander.

Anime/Manga wise I don't have a preference as I haven't seen or read any complete series of them.

Today I learned that ain't nobody like Gen 6. Good to know. Gen 3/4 seem the big ones.

Gen 6 is good; but just that a lot of people expected more from XY/ORAS.

Still, Gen 6 made EV training A LOT easier to deal with; and XY had character customization so we wouldn't be stuck using the standard character model throughout our gameplay.

It was also an incredibly rushed and lackluster gen that focused more on graphics than content, at least thus far.

Yeah, there were some content improvements, but the games as tandalone games are some of the worst. Even ORAS is mediocre, because it fixed very few of the problems Gen 3 had, just polished the look and gave Phys/Spec split.
