Poc
Rip in Peace Birthing pod 2011-2015 never 4get The deck plays similar to the old Melira pod decks but uses Collected Company as your card advantage engine instead of pod. The deck is fairly consistent. Goldfishing I combo off on turn 4 or 5 about 60% of the time. Mostly you just beat down your opponent and tax them with CC and Flickerwisps. I haven't had much actual playtesting with this yet so the numbers might be a bit off, you probably should be playing Tarmogoyf in this deck too. 4x Collected Company 3x Chord of calling 1x Congregation at dawn 4x Bird of Paradise 4x Kitchen Finks 3x Flickerwisp 2x Anafenza, Kin Tree Spirit 2x Knight of the Reliquary 2x Voice of Resurgence 2x Noble Hierarch (I'm using arbor elfs because I'm broke) 1x Melira, Sylvok Outcast 1x Viscera Seer 1x Cartel Aristocrat 1x Blood Artist 1x Quasali Pridemage 1x Sin Collector 1x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben 1x Spellskite 1x Scavenging Ooze 1x Eternal Witness 4x Windswept Heath 4x Verdant Catacombs 2x Overgrown Tomb 1x Temple Garden 1x Godless Shrine 3x Razorverge Thicket 2x Forest 1x Plains 1x Swamp 2x Gavony Township 1x Dryad Arbor 1x Tectonic Edge 3x Thoughtseize 2x Path to Exile 2x Abrupt Decay 1x Reclamation Sage 1x Aven Mindcensor 1x Orzhov Pontiff 1x Big Game Hunter 1x Gaddock Teeg 1x Eidolon of Rhetoric 1x Eternal Witness 1x Stain the Mind
Poc
Much update, very revised. Wow After much playtesting and revising I switched the deck to a more combo focused deck instead of a value engine. Its much more consistant now. The playset of chords have given the deck its "birthing pod" back letting you grab whatever piece you need at instant speed. I've tried the Archangle/spike feeder combo in this too but im not sold on it. A big evasive curve topper is really nice but not being able to flip it off of CC is pretty unfortunate. Mainboard -3 flickerwisp -2 Knight of the Reliquary -2 Voice -2 Hierarch -1 Aristocrat -1 Blood Artist -1 Sin Collector -1 Pridemage -1 Thalia -1 Overgrown Tomb -1 Razorverge Thicket -1 Tech Edge -1 Dryad Arbor +4 Chord of Calling +1 Murderous Redcap +2 Anafenza +1 Melira +1 Scooze +1 E Witness +1 Viscera Seer +3 Wall of Roots +1 Varolz +1 Orzhov Pontiff +2 Abrupt Decay +1 Temple Garden +1 Gavony Township +1 Forest The Deck looks like this now 4x Bird 4x Anafenza 4x Kitchen Finks 3x Wall of roots 2x Melira 2x Scooze 2x Viscera Seer 2x Eternal Witness 1x Spellskite 1x Orzhov Pontiff 1x Murderous Redcap 1x Varolz the Scar striped 4x Chord of calling 4x Collected Company 2x Abrupt Decay 4x Windswept Heath 4x Verdant Catacombs 2x Temple Garden 1x Overgrown Tomb 1x Godless Shrine 2x Razorverge Thicket 3x Forest 1x Swamp 1x Plains 3x Gavony township The sideboard is still going through some revisions, This modern meta is really dynamic so its hard to pick cards for it. 4x Thoughseize 3x Kor Firewalker 1x Voice 1x Reclamation Sage 1x Kataki 1x Scaveging ooze 1x Revillark 1x Maelstrom Pulse 1x Sin Collector 1x Path to exile
Poc
Updates, this is the list im bringing to the next PPTQ -2 Anafenza-2 Abrupt Decay-1 Wall of Roots-1 Valroz-1 Orzhov Pontiff-1 Gavony Township +1 E Witness+1 Linvala+1 Revillark+3 Heirarch+1 Fiend Hunter+1 Pridemage Sideboard 4 Fulminator Mage4 Tidehollow Sculler2 Abrupt Decay2 Burreton Forge Tender1 Kataki1 Big Game Hunter1 Slaughter Pact1 Orzhov Pontiff Tron game 1 is a pretty hard matchup, you can't grind out a game against them and pyroclasm just ruins your fun. Fulminator mage makes the match so much easier. Bloom Titan is pretty rough too since there's no interaction. Scullers strip their combo pieces and slaughter pact is an oh sheet button. U/R matches are pretty easy since they can't win after you combo. Rock decks are just an attrition battle and this deck doesn't really play fair in that regard. Simping For Hina
Don't expect so much Tron and Amulet. Aven Mindcensor is just as good in both of these matchups. But no matter what you do with Fulminator Mage in the Bloom matchup, I promise that you're going to use it wrongly. Bloom also brings in Pyroclasm and could just be a better beat down deck then you can. You could replace 1 Tidehollow with an Eidolon of Rhetoric or Aven Mindcensor. Sin Collector is also a good card with Tidehollow for a curve of discard. I would go with Mindcensor, though. Great in the Mirror match as well.Dismember over Slaughter Pact. It kills Tasigur. That is relevant enough to use it. Big Game Hunter could just be Murderous Cut since his size and threat density is pretty much that. Or even a Path to Exile. Your creature removal suite is powerful, but I think you're trying to get the worse end of it. I don't know how i feel about the Orzhov Pontiff. Poc
Mindcensor and Eidolon are good suggestions, I'll try them in my next playtesting, I like BGH since you can flip him off of CC and he has discard protection. He fills the same roll as Dismember but comes with a body. I'll try dismember too though. Pontiff lets you get through locked up board states as well as being a great tool against elves and other decks that try to go really wide. It can also protect against pyroclasm or anger. It's a really useful card that can really blow out an opponent if they are not expecting it.
Simping For Hina
People are going to get rid of CC before BGH. And if they are choosing BGH with discard, they went from stabilizing to aggression, most likely, and you should be in a losing position come that time. Pontiff could literally just be Zealous Persecution. Ozhov Pontiff is a skill testing card that is something that takes too much time to be good with. Zealous Persecution fills its role, but can be use more liberally. Anger of the Gods is going to blow you out anyways, which is why you use Burrenton-Forge. Orzhov Pontiff relies on CC or a sac outlet.
Poc
You want creature targets for chord and cc. You can't rely on top decking spells with this deck. This is why I choose creatures instead of more efficient spells that have the same effect Oh and mind censor is a great idea, completely forgot about that card. Unless you choose to keep them in, then my suggestions are more of a hindrance. I need to become reactive more with this deck after board, so I side out some number of CC and Chords for spells.
