Resident Fascist
[AUTO](RC):When this unit boosts a vanguard with "Maelstrom" in its card name, if it is the fourth battle of that turn or more, until end of that battle, your opponent cannot call grade 0 card from hand to (GC), at the end of that battle, return this unit to your deck, and shuffle your deck. Oh joy! Let's count the ways this card is completely heinous in every sense of the word! Just when you thought Bushiroad were immune to making dumb cards, Despina shows up to slap us all in the face! Oh joy. I finally get to talk about this thing. Honestly, since I've started playing Aqua Force and it's now my main deck, even I'm on the train of thought for hitting or banning this thing. She's simply way too good. I'm aware Bushiroad doesn't want to make Maelstrom less relevant because of the new G-AqF support, but this card just basically says you can only ever play Maelstroms. Just because Thavas has a similar skill doesn't mean he has access to cards like Rascal Sweeper, and other Blue Storm support, while some of it is less than relevant, it still must be mentioned. Another thing that gives Maelstrom an enormous edge over Thavas is the fact that there is more than likely going to be a Maelstrom exclusive Stride in the new fighter's collection. Regardless of how good it is, it still gives them an edge. There is also the fact that Maelstroms in general, are much better Vanguards with Limit Break than Thavas can hope to be, even with his Generation Break 2 active, just because Maelstrom, and literally any one of them, can be given Thavas's skill on the fly with Despina, overall making Thavas pretty irrelevant until something is done about Despina. Oh, I'd best mention the the fact that because your Strides inherit the name from one of your Hearts, this can boost a Tidal-Bore or a Lambros, or in the future, the Maelstrom Stride, and give it the Silent Tom effect. And also a reminder that Perfect Guards are generally quite weak against Aqua Force in general, while this gives you a reason to save up Perfect Guards, it costs the AqF player very little to shuffle Despina back, as they are triple driving, and also the fact that she is a critical trigger that shuffles herself back into the deck. Also relevant is the interaction between her and Glory Maelstrom, behold, Vanguard's very first "Screw you, you can't guard!" combination! Brilliant levels of interactivity coming from Bushiroad with this one. Good god. TL;DR
