EndUser
(At the Staff) If this isn't the correct section to have this thread, then inform me accordingly. This is the main deck I mostly use for about half a month now: (It's unaffected by the April TCG Banlist so it's still fine) Main Deck (44 cards): x2 Blackwing - Kris the Crack of Dawn x1 Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame x3 Blackwing - Bora the Spear x1 Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite x1 Blackwing - Kochi the Daybreak x3 Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow x2 Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind x2 Blackwing - Pinaka the Waxing Moon x1 Blackwing - Steam the Cloak x1 Blackwing - Ghibli the Searing Wind x2 Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North x1 Dark Armed Dragon x1 Electromagnetic Turtle x1 Mathematician x1 Card Trooper x1 Maxx "C" x1 D.D. Crow x1 Effect Veiler x1 Raigeki x2 Pot of Duality x2 Mystical Space Typhoon x1 Book of Moon x1 Forbidden Lance x1 Swords of Concealing Light x1 Black Whirlwind x1 Bottomless Trap Hole x2 Icarus Attack x1 Phoenix Wing Wind Blast x1 Black Sonic x1 Breakthrough Skill x1 Compulsory Evacuation Device x1 Call of the Haunted x1 Solemn Warning Extra Deck: x1 Beelze of the Diabolic Dragons x1 Hot Red Dragon Archfiend x1 Crimson Blader x1 Blackwing Tamer - Hawk Joe the Jet Black x1 Blackwing Armor Master x1 Black Rose Dragon x1 Goyo Guardian x1 Blackwing - Nothung the Starlight x1 Blackwing Armed Wing x1 Vulcan the Divine x1 Number 101: Silent Honor Ark x1 Ice Beast Zerofyne x1 Evilswarm Exciton Knight x1 Evilswarm Nightmare x1 Mechquipped Angineer Side Deck: x1 Maxx "C" x1 Effect Veiler x1 Mystical Space Typhoon x2 Different Dimension Ground x1 Delta Crow - Anti Reverse x2 Imperial Iron Wall x1 Leo, the Keeper of the Sacred Tree x1 Mist Wurm x1 Black Rose Dragon x1 Ally of Justice Catastor x1 Samsara, Dragon of Rebirth x1 Abyss Dweller x1 Leviair the Sea Dragon The deck's structure is based on a variety of cards (but includes some staples), offering variety to its gameplay and trying to adapt to many situations. It's not made to be competitive but rather fun to play, however it proved to be good and can make incredible plays with the right setup. At least 50% wins and 25% losses. I rarely dueled against Nekroz, Lightsworn and other Spam/Search Decks, but I did fight BA, Shaddolls and others (including older Decks). Ironically, I have yet to duel against Qliphs. I'll start with the number of the cards. Yes, they are too many and you can often miss key cards. It's not made to be that competitive (as I already mentioned), so I didn't feel the need to restrain it. However, making it a 42 or 43-card deck wouldn't hurt, but no less than that. Now, some explanation about the most obvious choices: I feel that Shura, although very good, is a bit slow. I would keep 2 at most, while the absent one(s) were replaced by other BWs. Kochi helps with LV8 Synchro and R4 Xyz Summoning, also being a Tuner made me replace it with 1 Shura. Mathematician can send key cards (like ElectroTurtle and Zephyros) to the Graveyard, unlike Trooper which can mess the deck (but helps at emergency situations). As for Gale and Pinaka: Gale can cut strong monsters' power, while Pinaka can add key cards to your hand like Blizzard, Kalut (and even Gale). At rare occasions, it would bring Ghibli (which I included lately) and prevent losing the duel (also, being a BW makes it more flexible with the deck than Battle Fader). The Extra Deck is more or less random, trying to fulfil any possible need. Zerofyne, Nightmare and Angineer are possibly the less used in the list (compared to other R4/R3 monsters), but they did help at many situations. And the Side Deck is, of course, discussible. About some Spells/Traps: The logic to including only 1 (or possibly 2) Black Whirlwind(s) is similar to that of Shura's. Lance is very good, but I feel that the game nowadays is more monster-centered so I usually Side such cards. Regarding Typhoon, I already include card-removal cards so, 2 at most. POD should be at 3 considering the number of cards, but it can often block SSing when you need it. Still debatable on this, although I'd include Allure instead. And Concealing Light, oh man that card! Sealing any effects the opponent's monsters have, making them (and other cards) vulnerable to any kind of targeting or removal, also preventing them to attack. Icarus at 2, debatable as well. Sonic banishes monsters but Mirror Force is reliable by itself, so it's hard to choose one. Since the deck's purpose is creative and fun gaming (whereas being as strong as possible), there is no need for strict strategies and choices, but I will still consider your opinions... What do you think of the deck? What would you suggest me change?
