Flame Dragon
So, with the prereleases nearing their end, how did everyone do? I ended up playing 2 events.First event was a 2 Headed Giant. I picked WU and my partner pick BR. Between the 12 packs though we had VERY little good Blue (my pool was pretty weak) so I ended up GW. I had NO idea how different a 2HG game would play vs. normal, but I figured things that short term effects would be pretty bad and that people would have a TON of removal. In the end my deck was a bunch of random idiots that could push through early damage and some late game removal while his was a ton of removal/burn (we had Rage and Pyrotechnics so that also gave us some reach) with some ok early game creatures and a fair bit of deathtouch. He also had his Dragonlord (which wasn't ever drawn int he 3 games). We ended up going 2-1 losing to a team with 2 Dragonlord Atarka, 2 Dragon Whisperer, and Whisperwood Elemental while my partner went to 5 cards and I flooded.Today I picked GW and ended up with an INSANE GW pool. My rares were Avatar of the Resolute, Den Protector, and Foe-Razer Regent. Only had 1 close game in the 6 I played because a 5/1 was able to get in for 10 damage and 4 life is scary vs. a red player. Lucky for me he didn't draw anything and once I stabilized he very quickly died to my dragon. In the end went 3-0 not losing a game and split in the finales to go home an hour early. I'll post a picture of the deck later.
Poc
Went UB for my first day. Had like 25 pieces of playable removal, a polluted delta and some good bombs, I ended 3-2. My last two matches were some of the most awful mana screwing I've ever had in a limited game. I was pretty upset. My second day I went RB and had a pretty garbage pool, no bombs in any color, my rates were mediocre and I had only 2 pieces of removal. I did have 3 sarkans rage and a lava axe dragon so I played a cheesy burn deck and went 3-1.

Flame Dragon
Heard it was shit, didn't go.Really? I loved the limited play of the set. What exactly were people saying that made it sound so bad?
Simping For Hina
All they said was that is wasn't that comparable to KTK and FRF, in the complexity sense, which were my favorite parts of the prerelease.
Flame Dragon
All they said was that is wasn't that comparable to KTK and FRF, in the complexity sense, which were my favorite parts of the prerelease.Based on what I experienced the format has a ton less morphs (11 commons, vs. Khan's 17) and the board doesn't gum as nearly as badly as those did since we have a lot less high toughness guys and a decent number of flyers letting you take to the air should that happen. Another major thing is we have a ton more good removal at common in all 5 colors.Personally, I never found Khans or Fate all that complex, but I can see why this would be called less so. Again, I really enjoy, simple bread and butter magic so I loved the games I played. This is likely a good thing since they actively wanted to have the two sets play very differently. Trebuchet MS
Prerelease rares: Living Lore (promo, but hard to use well), Pristine Skywise (excellent), Anafenza (decent but not too good), Radiant Purge (hard to use), Profaner of the Dead (theoretically cool but hard to use), Tasigur (MONEY) Dipped black to go slightly Esper. Match 1 was 2-0 as I had all the tricks to keep down an opposing Mardu player. Match 2 was 1-2 as I got Dashed to the ground. The fact that I didn't open instant-speed removal made them difficult to deal with. Match 3 was 0-2 as I got stomped by Atarka's fatties. Match 4 was 1-2 because Citadel Siege. It's a shame Living Lore won't share the same limited format as Dead Drop (and Temporal Trespass needs ungodly luck to acquire). Single prize pack contained Zurgo Bellstriker. I want to make mono-red Tiny Leaders now.
Flame Dragon
I just found out Foe-Razer Regent gives the counters AFTER it fights. I now REALLY hope none of the fighting that happened with it around would have ended differently had I known this. I mean, I would think my opponents would have pointed this out, but none of them said anything about when I was putting the counters on, so yea..... Simping For Hina
Most people don't read the cards and just have fun. Don't take advantage of this, but have fun and don't let it get the best of you. It was a mistake.
