Level 7 Water Warrior

2500/2000

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand or Graveyard) by Tributing "The Legendary Fisherman". If Summoned this way: You can banish any number of monsters your opponent controls. During either player's turn, if your opponent would take effect damage: You can return all cards banished by this effect to the Graveyard; double that effect damage. While "Umi" is on the field, this card cannot be destroyed by [...].

Fun fact, this card shares the same ATK as of the other main characters' Ace Monsters

Ho-ly crap.

That's really good. Like, really good. Gets rid of Nekroz monsters so your opp can't use them with the Ritual Spells to get more, stops Qliphs from returning to the Extra Deck, BAs won't trigger... It's worst quality is that it's only live off a somewhat crappy monster. Worth it.

Hory sheet. Wailmer Hat dude actually had a legit card that made him a finalist.

If I recall, there might have been 1 Fusion that required Legendary Fisherman so you can use Prisma or Fusion Reserve, and on top of that there was a lulzy kind of combo where an orca monster tributed Umi related monsters to inflict effect damage I think.

Most definitely.

OT: It is a shame we won't know what the rest of the last effect does (Unless it gets printed and stays as-is)

We pretty much do know what it is. Since it is like a direct upgrade to Fisherman. And what does fisherman get when Umi is on the field? Spell immunity.

Not being destroyed by Spell Cards allows him to gain the boost from it (direct upgrade, kinda sorta, technically is one now that Snatch Steal is no longer a thing)

Plot Twist: the hidden text is "card effects".

You're thinking Orca Mega-Fortress of Darkness, which doesn't actually need Legendary Fisherman.

So what is Legendary Fisherman !!?

[spoiler=anime spoilers]

Given fish guy was carded this episode, I doubt we'll see it anytime soon :(

Legendary Fisherman could avoid Spells while at see. Eventually he learns to avoid Traps and passes the knowledge to his son, who then learns to evade the worst of creatures of the deep whilst hunting them and passes all the knowledge to LF3.

A natural evolution of the monster effect, at least in my head. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It'd make sense if it protected itself from destruction of Spell effects, though I wouldn't have put it past them if it said card effects (but as already stated, it'd go against the flavour).

Its an interesting card for what it does but I have to ask...

...if this is Fisherman III...

...WHERES FISHERMAN II!!!

Wait, if the original Fisherman is meant to represent Mako/Kajiki's dad, then III is most likely Freaky Fish Guy's son! Congratulations to him and Ocean =D

OT: I wouldn't mind if that'd be printed as it is, provided the rest of his effect is good, but balanced :)

He is NOT a freaky fish guy!
