Azure Wolf
Anyone who has looked at somethings I've posted about myself knows that I haven't been to school in a while. This is mainly due to depression, but I also believe that I have stopped going because it didn't interest me. Things like this have happened before but not on such a scale. It mainly happens with small clubs or activities like football/soccer and such where I just stop going if my interest leaves it. Before school the largest thing I quit was the DofE (Duke of Edinburgh) Bronze Award. The reason I'm posting this is after I get over my bad cold I will be going in to discuss options about returning until the end of the year. Going back now will leave me with days off when Exams are on as I no longer qualify for them due to missed course work but compared to know I will be in full time education rather than twice a week. I have picked 2 days I believe would be best to go back Wednesday A which consists of ICT, Double Geography, Biology, English and Spanish; and Thursday B which consists of English, Maths, Geography, ICT, and Double Games/PE. The reason I have choose these two is because they give me more I would enjoy. Wednesday because ICT and Geography and Thursday because of ICT Geography and two periods of doing barely anything. While Games isn't my favourite subject, at this time of year its track events so you rarely do much unless you plan to take part in Sports Day, that and last time I nearly collapsed afterwards and was told I was turning green so, still I enjoy track events and if I can muster the courage I will see if I can just practice kendo or something instead. ICT is there because I want as much experience as I can with it as it is the main area for my career choices. Geography mainly because it is fun and one of the subjects I have been told I'm most enthusiastic about, top that off with my geography teacher's way of teaching it is probably the best subject I've taken. (An example of the way of teaching was he got a table, drew on it, then sprayed and poured water over it to demonstrate rainfall.) I'm posting this to see what your opinions are on what I should do about this. Advice from people who have been through similar would be appreciated, and sorry for rambling on a bit, this currently is one of my main sources of stress as there is a chance I might not get into any course next year because of this so lots of stress for that. chairman ali
People generally get out of a slump or depression states by occupying their time. Going back to school and focusing on it will aid your recovery. But you should also pick who you decide to talk to extremely wisely. In stages of depression you generally want to make sure your mind is focused on something that won't break your spirit. You should also know that even with the dreadful amount of work you'll be given in school, you shouldn't stress it. Do what you can. Some people can't really co-op with the amount of work so they generally overthink and get into difficult states. Just remember that if you don't do well on a subject, it isn't the end of the world. Azure Wolf
Go back. You probably won't be able to live up to your full potential otherwise. Get your diploma, then go to college for a Master's in a field of your choice. Or at the very bare minimum least, get your high school diploma. Anything less and you'll have disappointed UE-senpai. Source: Am high school dropout I've past the deadline for entry into exams which was in January, but it should be possible for me to do them outside of school so there is that. Probably going to be spending a few years at tech which can get me the equivalent to school exams in subjects then after that might go to university after I see what courses are available. During long periods I have been off, I have went back for certain subjects but eventually stopped. People generally get out of a slump or depression states by occupying their time. I am coming out of my depression stage which usually happens around this time before dropping back during late Autumn/Early Winter. In school I rarely talk to people due to lack of things to talk about and not knowing how to respond to certain topics. I do believe I might be able to talk better with people now as I have talk to people more about stuff or aren't as ashamed of what others might think about what I like. Depending on who the talk goes when it happens I will have control over what happens with me in school so it might be possible for me to avoid subjects I don't like or aren't good at so I will have less work to do.
