Even though they are Gemini, with The Black Stone of Legend, they become really dangerous. Mostly Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon for a total of 4800 damage. Thank God it only summons Level 7 or lower Red-Eyes monsters though. Could you imagine an instant REDMD?

Obviously, The Black Stone of Legend is what ties this whole deck together, like Maiden with the Eyes of Blue (was that her name?). Does Dragon Shrine work with Gemini monsters? If so, then this got a whole lot better.

The Fusion Monster is... better than I thought, since it practically works as an Armades with a gigantic burn effect.

The fusion Spell works wonders. Especially because it grabs monsters from the Deck.

I like how they kept the burn theme of Red-Eyes and even adding a "Summoned Skull" reference to it. Considering all the Gemini support this deck can use, too, it makes a Red-Eyes themed Deck really playable.

Guys, Red Eyes has been my favorite "nostalgia" card in the game for ages. For most people, it's Blue Eyes or Dark Magician but I've always liked something about Red Eyes. I was just thinking the other day about how much Fusion Reserve helped Red Eyes and a Red-Eyes fusion deck was something that was always a pet project of mine. This is beautiful. So goddamn beautiful.

I love that they tied together what Red Eyes already had going for it: Burn, Fusions, and all the fusion materials being Normal monsters.

Also, notice that we don't know what CORE-JP022 is yet. I'm thinking a retrained Meteor Dragon and perhaps another fusion that acts as a retrained Meteor Black Dragon. It'd make a fair deal of sense given what else we just got.

I can see the whole Meteor Dragon thing, but another Fusion boss? It seems unlikely because Blue-Eyes only got 1 Synchro and DMG only got 1 Xyz. And for the "nostalgia" factor, yeah; this is amazing. Since they did Kaiba, Yugi, and now Joey, I wonder if they would do something for Pegasus and Relinquished/Toons?

Oh. My. God. YES.

Red-Eyes is my favorite monster, I'm BEYOND excited to see this. Those are really powerful effects, and even being Gemini, Black Stone does not CARE, yo. THis deck is going to be CRAZY to play, if only for the insane burn potential.

EDIT: Slight point against the Fusion card in that Red-Eyes Flare won't work with it from the deck since the Fusion needs a Normal Monster and Gemini monsters aren't treated as Normal Monsters while in the deck. But that's a very minor point against it.

Holy shit, Red-Eyes finally got some respect. He was turning into the Gen 1 Rodney Dangerfield. The Fusion Spell in particular is nice, though OG Red-Eyes is necessary doing it That way.

This says confusing things about Duelists of Destiny. The original thought was Kaiba stuff because of Crush Card's errata, but these point to Jonouchi. Maybe they need more time to figure out Critias so they're going for the comparably easier Hermos?

Holy shit Black Stone of Legend.

I find it interesting that the 2016 movie was announced to be Yugi vs Kaiba. While Joey support was inevitable, I figured this would actually be the year of additional Blue-Eyes support and at lest three hundred more reprints of it and Obelisk. As much as I hate the nostalgiafag hype train, I really do like how they're going about this with the shunned Gemini monsters.

The built in Inferno Fire Blasts though.

NNNNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oof, I think I just had a Joeygasm. That Black Stone is god damn impressive, as those effects were WELL worth losing it possibly being a Tuner; but that's to be expected, since Red-Eyes is Fusion based. God I hope to see a Fusion Duelist use these in Arc-V, it would be so Joeygasm worthy. Red-Eyes Fusion is worth its weight in gold just for being able to pull a Meteor B. Dragon out your ass for no real reason.

It's not all that far-fetched really. Dark Magician is now Xyz-centric, Blue-Eyes has a Synchro, Red-Eyes is Fusion...

I love how you can use Silver's Cry with these since they are all Gemini.

But the Archfiend isn't a Dragon :P

Anyways...I dislike the dis-synergy with Flare Dragon and Red-Eyes Fusion, but that nitpick aside, those don't look so bad. You can use Dragon's Shrine to dump Flare Dragon followed by Black Stone, and then use Black Stone's effect to return itself to your hand.

And the fusion seems powerful, an Armades with a huge burn effect tacked onto it.

*drooling*

Not even a huge Red-Eyes fan, but those artworks are gorgeous. At first, I was confused why Red-Eyes Fusion treated the monster as Red-Eyes B. Dragon. The answer: Inferno Fire Blast. Of course, simply being able to fuse from the hand, field or DECK, even if it's only for Red-Eyes Fusions, is awesome.

Black Flare seems amusing, but not necessarily good, being a Gemini, but it does have a built-in Inferno Fire Blast when it BATTLES, so...ouch.

Black Daemon's Dragon is hilarious. It has an Armades effect, and at the end of the Battle Phase, it can Inferno Fire Blast based on a Red-Eyes Normal in the Graveyard. Plus, its Summon Condition is fairly flexible, requiring a Level 6+ Archfiend and any Red-Eyes Normal/Gemini, although sadly, Red-Eyes Fusion can't fuse Black Flare in the hand or Deck because Geminis are still Effect monsters in the hand and Deck.

Black Stone is ridiculously cool. Tribute it to grab Red-Eyes from the Deck, or return a Red-Eyes from the Grave to the Deck and return it to hand.

Robin, Org currently lists the big boss' first material as level 6 NORMAL Archfiend, is that right? Also, I knew Red-Eyes would get a Fusion as their new era ace.
BTW, the new Black Skull is a Dragon for sure based on the kana, so Dragon's Mirror is still a valid option.

Not Robin here, but yes. Basically, it's so you have to run the vanillas to be able to fuse from deck.

Thanks! In the meantime, I've checked the Japanese lore once again, and yes, it does especify the Archfiend must be a Normal monster as well. What a pity.

But I don't know, even then, I don't think we should throw out the new Gemini so fast.
