Xeoxed
Cool and experimental Chess based archetype, working out the kinks, but I thought it was a pretty cool idea. The art work is not original by me, rather, just a fill in for basic concept There are two kinds of every CHESS WARRIOR. One light, another dark, much like the white and black pieces of Chess. They are all different and all play to help each other, or just serve to be basic support cards. If their is an error with images, the Light CHESS WARRIOR is always first. The art is only second to the concept. CHESS WARRIOR: Pawns One this card is summoned, chose one of the following effects: 1- Add one CHESS WARRIOR from your deck to your hand 2-Decrease the attack of this card by 500 and increase the attack of another by 500 One this card is summoned, chose one of the following effects: 1- Add one CHESS WARRIOR from your graveyard to your hand 2-Decrease the attack of one monster on your side of the field by 500 (other than this one) and increase the attack of this card by 500 CHESS WARRIOR: Knights If your field is treated as "CHESS Board," You can Special Summon this Monster from your graveyard. If your field is treated as "CHESS Board," this card can attack twice in one turn. If this card does engage in battle twice, and survives, you can target one monster on the field, and place it in the face down, defense position. CHESS WARRIOR: Rooks FLIP: You can target any two CHESS WARRIOR cards you control (including this one) and return them to the hand. After this, you can Special Summon one CHESS WARRIOR to the field in the face up defense position. FLIP: You can target any two set cards your opponent controls, they can not be activated, and if they are successfully targeted and negated, return them to your opponents hand. CHESS WARRIOR: Bishops When this card returns to the hand by card effect, you can then place this card in the field spell zone. The field is treated as "CHESS Board" (Giving all CHESS WARRIOR cards an additional 400 attack) Also, the following two effects occur: 1- Light monsters can only be destroyed by Dark monsters 2- Dark monsters can only be destroyed by Light monsters When this card returns to the hand by card effect, you can special summon up to 2 CHESS WARRIOR monsters with 1800 or less attack to your side of the field in the face-up defense mode. CHESS WARRIOR: Queens Flip: If this card is flipped face-up, your opponent can not attack during their next turn. However, all of your monsters must attack during your next battle phase, if capable. This card can not be special summoned Flip: If this card is flipped face-up, This card must attack every battle phase while it is in attack mode on the field. Once per turn this card can not be destroyed by battle. Once per turn, when this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent can not activate spell or trap cards during battle. CHESS WARRIOR: Kings This card gains the following effects when CHESS WARRIOR cards are in the grave: 2+: 'CHESS WARRIOR' :This card gains attack equal to 500 x the number of different CHESS WARRIOR cardsin the grave 4+ :This card can select one card on the field once per turn, set or face up, it can not activate it effect this turn 6+ : Once per turn, when a CHESS WARRIOR is attacked, you can pay 1000 Life Points, negate the negate the attack. This card can not be Special Summoned This card can not be Special Summoned. This card can change its battle position 2 times per turn. While this card is on the field, the field is treated as 'CHESS Board' (CHESS WARRIOR monsters gain 400 attack) When this card is destroyed, special summon up to 2 CHESS WARRIOR: Pawns (Light or Dark) to the field. And last but not least: CHESS Board (This card can also be used as a quick playspell when set in the Spell/Trap zone) When used as a field spell: All CHESS WARRIOR cards gain 400 attack. This can can not be destroyed by card effects once per turn. As a quick play: Negate an attack that would destroy a CHESS WARRIOR monster, then, if this effect is successful carried out, change the position of all your opponents face up attack monsters to face up defense mode. Tinkerer
I love chess-based archetypes. This one is pretty cool. Just a couple things: a few cards allow you to SS chess monsters, but you never specified from where. Also, a couple of the card texts need some cleaning (though I'm not the best at it...) I also have a question. I was looking at the pawns and was kinda expecting all the cards to follow the aesthetics of having the same ATK/DEF as their counterpart. Why'd you decide not to go down that route? (i don't mind if you do not wish to answer, I was just curious)
