CLG Klavier
Unless your deck requires as many consistency as it can get aka any deck?
Maeriberii Haan
I mean, decks where that ~1% change in the consistency to pull off/open with something -matters- that much. There's that difference. Then again, I said 40/41 is ideal. But, my point is, 42 and 43 is not that horrible if it can't be helped except in some cases, since that extra card might worth more than the slight hit to the deck's consistency.I mean, decks where that ~1% change in the consistency to pull off/open with something -matters- that much. CLG Klavier
Let's assume a 40 vs a 41 card deck, and you have a 3-of you really wanna hit in your opening hand. The ratios are as follows for a 40 card deck: 3/40 ~ 7,5% 3/39 ~ 7,7% 3/38 ~ 7,9% 3/37 ~ 8,1% 3/36 ~ 8,4% which is an average of 7,92%. For a 41 card deck: 3/41 ~ 7,3% 3/40 ~ 7,5% 3/39 ~ 7,7% 3/38 ~ 7,9% 3/37 ~ 8,1% which is an average of 7,7%. That's a 0,22% of difference. Sure, doesn't seem like a lot. But remember such small differences add up over games. In 5 games you play, you will open your desired card around 1% more often with a 40 card deck than a 41 card one. etc. etc.

Its why there is a 16% chance of someone opening with Heavy Storm back in the day when it was @1. If you're running 3 copies of a card, you have about a 50% chance of opening with it in a 40 card deck.
CLG Klavier
...oh my god you're right. My bad. My point still stands. A seemingly tiny difference that adds up over games.
Toffee.
Dragon Rulers has also been tried with more than 45 cards, which, since they're freaking Drulers, they still worked really well. You could, and I kid you not, play a 60 card Ruler.dek and just include all kinds of random garbage; Deck was still broke because it still ran 3x of each Dragon Ruler/Saroph/Star Sword/etc.Hell, I ran one, and played fuckin' Larvae Moth/the other Moth cards, and straight-up useless cards.Didn't matter; Could still spam Big Eyes.
