(GigaDrillBreaker)
So I caught up on Uncharted Realms. Now, if the events of history changed in a manner in which Sarkhan no longer exists, it means we have entered a new timeline. In this new timeline, Ugin is not dead, but this really is not the important part. The important part is the Sarkhan no longer exists. Sarkhan, along with Jace and Chandra, unlocked the Eldrazi during the events of Zendikar block. In a world with no Sarkhan, the Eldrazi should still be trapped, thus removing the primary conflict in the story since then. In this reality, Jace and Tezzeret never fought Bolas, meaning Tezzeret's mind is free and Jace never planeswalked to Ravnica and never met Emara Tandris. Tezzeret did not collaborate with Phyrexia, so the Mirran Resistance may have even succeeded. If New Phyrexia had not won the war, Elspeth would never have returned to Theros. The battle between Bolas and Ugin took place pre-mending, so the events of Time Spiral may even have been altered by Ugin's existence. If Bolas was not injured in the mending, he would not have needed to converge the Shards of Alara, meaning that Jazal Goldmane would not have been assasinated and Ajani would not have ignited his spark. tl;dr: Literally all of the MtG storyline has a chance of being invalidated. This is a reboot-level event.
Just Crouton
Either this is The New 52, or MtG is pulling a CFV alternate timeline for a block.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
Either this is The New 52, or MtG is pulling a CFV alternate timeline for a block. Basically, yeah. The New 52 concept is mostly something I would be ok with, but right now doesn't make any sense. They have been setting up for a climactic battle between the planeswalker heroes and the Eldrazi titans. Nissa is overtaking Zendikar. Kiora is amassing an army of sea creatures on Theros, Gideon Jura is being trained by the Boros Legion to better combat the Eldrazi. Jace is... doing his own thing... Sorin is looking for the dragon Ugin. In essence, they hyped up the boss fight, then decided to simply not do it.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
So, put simply, they cheated at time travel. That is frustrating, considering that other events (the mending, Toshiro Umezawa being transported to Dominaria, etc.) remain consistent. I feel like there were simply better ways to execute the idea. I mean, it might turn out better than it seems now, but so far it just feels like they are being lazy. Rodrigo
I feel like changing the entire story of the game isn't a smart move. But this shouldn't be enough to stop them from doing a time travel chapter, because it was in high demand by the players and the avid flavorworms and the like. I'm totally fine with the way they're handling this, by altering time just on Tarkir, but I do understand your point and while I agree it would be pretty interesting that Tarkir affected everything in the multiverse, I still think it's not such a great idea for the entirety of the game's story. Simping For Hina
The mending didn't occur when they went back in time, it was pre-mending. We also don't know how they're going to execute this idea, either.
