Progenitor
Personally Big Band is my favorite. I'm not that good at fighting games, but playing as Big Band really forced me to learn combos and plan out my inputs. Also his stage is fantastic. Love the music, love the atmosphere. Quite Possibly my favorite stage. Plus TUBA TUBA as a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is genius.
Shradow
I've only played as Squigly, so Squigly.
Progenitor
Yeah until I got the DLC for Band after trying him out in the Beta, I attempted and failed to try to main Painwheel, but moved onto Fortune. The reason she is so easy to learn is cuz alot of her combos revolve around the QCF P, which is easy to do, gives a free mixup, and is chainable into itself at certain distances. I found that her more advance combos are so stupidly fast and precise that Big Band seemed a bit better since alot of his combos are slower but with more Hitstun. Also Beowulf hype, if not already established. An internet for you for making a Skullgirls thread, first off. This game needs more attention. (other JoJo references include Eliza having a Dio Brando palette and Peacock being able to drop Dio's steamroller on people) My favorite is easily Ms. Fortune. When a friend gifted me Skullgirls on Steam, he was talking about how some characters were tougher to learn and listed Ms. Fortune among them. I didn't care; "catgirl that can maim and repair herself" was too good to pass up, and she was actually really easy for me to figure out. I've actually had better luck figuring out Ms. Fortune than Filia and Cerebella, both of whom I know are like the easiest characters to learn. Just a day after picking up Skullgirls, I'd found the combo pieces I liked, and am still dedicated to figuring out the rest a couple weeks later. Oh, and did I mention that she can use her tail as a freaking sword? Pawsitively delightful indeed.
DL
I'm thinkin of buying this game, since it seems really good. XP However it doesn't work for Mac yet, so wouldn't be able to play with my friend >: But I might just buy it for myself, how's the AI?
Althemia
Lack of Parasoul rep is disappointing but expected I suppose. I love the trap characters when they're done right and Parasoul has some actually amazingly cool resets using bombs
Shradow
I really like how thorough the tutorial is in this game. Normally I'm not one for 2D fighters like this, but the tutorial really helps a lot in getting into the genre itself.
Progenitor
Yep. And it's pretty clear it's been made by someone who plays fighting games, since it uses terms like mixup or hitstun, which are commonplace in the fighting game community. Honestly this is the first fighting game I've actually invested myself into, and I've only had it for a month. I learn the terms from watching Lythero play UMvC3 and Max playing every fighting game ever and such. I'm thinkin of buying this game, since it seems really good. XP However it doesn't work for Mac yet, so wouldn't be able to play with my friend >: But I might just buy it for myself, how's the AI? The AI is nowhere near the level of most online players. However it is still pretty good. I was able to work my way up to nightmare in a month or so of on and off playing. However Marie, (The boss at the end of story and Arcade mode) is ridiculous at any difficulty. Also Filia's AI is like 10 levels higher than any other character for some reason. DL
Jeez, I couldnt do the outtakes to save my life in the tutorial... I'm doing the quarter circle down to right, and then using high kick high punch (and every other punch + kick) but I just can't do it. I did it a few times, but only switched in the two same characters, but couldnt switch into the third one. Wtf.
Shradow
Also Filia's AI is like 10 levels higher than any other character for some reason.Filia's AI is Nightmare Mode.Okay, so it's not just me, I thought I was just worse at fighting her than the other characters. If, for instance, Char 2 is out: MP + MK Switches in Char 1 HP + HK Switches in Char 3 If you are having trouble with it, try to consciously delay the button input after the QCF. Skullgirls is pretty lenient with inputs as it is, but mastering outtakes isn't really necessary.
Progenitor
Alrighty so thank you for UnendingEmpire For the suggestion. I had no idea If a general Threat for Skullgirls was actually a thing. Also, I thought it might be a good Idea to start building a little community, so that we could have some casual matches, or assist newer players in real time. I will start this off my stating that I play on steam (As most will, but some may play on 360 or Ps3). My user is The Progenitor. Add me if you wish, but please post on this forum your Steam name and the fact that you are adding, as scammers have been running rampant on steam. I mostly just EBMT anyway (educated button-mash technique) which has gotten me pretty close to victory in my last two online matches (had two so far XP) The only issue I have with this game so far is that combos seem like infinites sometimes X_X I'd ask if there was DI in this game, like there is in Smash Bros, but I doubt there is. Also is there a tier list? I don't play by tiers, but I'm always curious to see where my favorite character is. So far Is lookin really good. They are INCREDIBLY helpful, plus they tell you how to play the specific characters. There are a few which get the concepts off easier, but are incredibly hard to complete, so just skip those when you get the concept. Second. There is a tier list, but it basically irrelevant, and for one reason only: Infinity Breakers. In this game, when the game registers that an infinite, unbreakably combo has begun, a weird particle effect will play on hit, and if the one getting comboed presses the attack button, he will break the combo a la Guilty Gear. This, somewhat ironically, forces more advanced players to think up combos that are not quite infinite, but are pretty much so, and so every character has an equal chance based on skill. However, I see the most Squigglys, Valentines, and Filias online. I see everyone fairly equally though, its just those 3 are somewhat more present. DL
Hmm...alright. I guess there's so many tutorials for a reason XD And oh okay. So my current fav IS rather popular. Unsurprising, tho, she's really cute.
Shradow
Yes... cute. I'm sure that's the reason lots of people play Valentine. I could probably think of two other big ones, though.

Shradow
I haven't actually played it in awhile, had it uninstalled since early last year, but if I have people to play with that gives me incentive to practice more, which I've done a bit of. I'm Shradow on Steam, used to be the only one, now there's 4. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Shradow

(Steam only uses account names for login and stuff, right?) http://steamcommunity.com/id/UnendingEmpire Will get around to adding everyone who posted their names and stuff here a bit later (assuming they don't add me first ofc); I'm always down for having more people to play Skullgirls with.
