I got into Duel Masters again, so I figured that I would try to make some custom cards. I don't really know about the current meta-game really, but these are just some fun cards.

The Arcehtype are a Water/Light multicolored Archetype that both introduce a new Creature Type called Electric Beast, but also a new keyword unique to them called Trigger Block, which prevents your opponent from using any shield trigger abilities.

Tacura, Stun Shocktopus

Creature/Water/Light

Electric Beast

Cost: 2

Power: 2000

(This creature is put into your mana zone tapped.)

Trigger Block (Your opponent cannot use the "shield trigger" ability of their shields.)

■ Instead of having this creature attack, you may tap it to use its oFDfY2G.gif ability.

oFDfY2G.gif Reveal 1 of your opponent's shields, then if that shield has a "Shield Trigger" ability, put it in his graveyard, otherwise put it back where it was.

Almor, Recruiter Shocktopus

Creature/Water/Light

Electric Beast

Cost: 3

Power: 3000

(This creature is put into your mana zone tapped.)

Trigger Block (Your opponent cannot use the "shield trigger" ability of their shields.)

■ When you put this creature in your battle zone, you can reveal the top 5 cards of your deck, then you can add 1 revealed creature with "Shocktopus" in its name to your hand, also shuffle the rest into your deck.

If you have 2 or more Armored Dragons in the battle zone, you may summon this creature for no cost.

Hurtal, Destroyer Shocktopus

Creature/Water/Light

Electric Beast

Cost: 5

Power: 5000+

(This creature is put into your mana zone tapped.)

Trigger Block (Your opponent cannot use the "shield trigger" ability of their shields.)

Double Breaker (This creature breaks 2 shields.)

■ While attacking, it gains +1000 power for each shield your opponent controls.

Almern, Speed Shocktopus

Creature/Water/Light

Electric Beast

Cost: 5

4000

ArwLr9c.jpg Blocker (Whenever an opponent's creature attacks, you may tap this creature to stop the attack. Then the 2 creatures battle.)

(This creature is put into your mana zone tapped.)

Trigger Block (Your opponent cannot use the "shield trigger" ability of their shields.)

Gravity Zero (If you have 2 or more Electric Beast in the battle zone, you may summon this creature for no cost.)

This creature can't attack.

Ridal, Striker Shocktopus

Creature/Water/Light

Electric Beast

Cost: 6

Power: 7000

(This creature is put into your mana zone tapped.)

Trigger Block (Your opponent cannot use the "shield trigger" ability of their shields.)

■ Your opponent cannot attack other creatures with "Shocktopus" in their name, except "Ridal, Striker Shocktopus".

Break Bonus (After this creature's attack, if this creature is still in the battle zone, for each shield this creature broke you may use the following EBVkOnI.gif ability.)

EBVkOnI.gif Choose 1 creature your opponent controls and destroy it.

Uritum, Exploder Shocktopus

Creature/Water/Light

Electric Beast

Cost: 9

Power: 12000

(This creature is put into your mana zone tapped.)

Trigger Block (Your opponent cannot use the "shield trigger" ability of their shields.)

When this card is destroyed, you can break 1 of your opponent's shields, then that card has a "shield trigger" ability, you can break another 1 of their shields, then repeat this ability as many times as there are "shield trigger" abilities.

Shocktopus Deep Sea

Water

Spell

Cost: 3

■ This turn, all cards with Shocktopus in their name cost 2 less to cast. It can't cost less than 1. If a multicolored card would cost 1 because of this effect, you only tap 1 mana instead.

Shocktopus Surprise

Light

Spell

Cost: 4

■ Choose 1 creature with "Shocktopus" in its name whose cost is 5 or lower in your graveyard and summon it.

Tacura's effect seems too powerful for its cost.

2 Mana to summon, then you get to evade blockers for a chance to put a shield down, and even if that fails, your opponent doesn't get to use Shield Triggers at all thanks to its passive effect (and you have the added bonus of knowing what the shield is).

Then again, I've been so out of it, I may be outdated and not adhering to powercreep, because I believe the newest card I have is Billion-Degree Dragon, and I know that is from many many years ago, and I have not been keeping up with the game since it stopped being printed in America.

I dunno, you're giving up your attack to potentially get down a shield, it's only really useful if your opponent has any blockers or you know that they have shield trigger so that you can get it in the graveyard instead of it going to the hand. It also has 2000 power, so it's going to get taken care of pretty fast.
