Tentacruel
Yeah, they sound good. Very high output. I have to use much less gain then I'm used or it gets too muddy. My Telecaster has pretty low output pickups even though they're humbuckers.
NotKrow
What pickups do you have in your tele? I swapped mine out for a dimarzio, it's just a single coil but it handles gain pretty well
Tentacruel
Fender Wide Range Humbuckers. They're based on the original ones made by Seth Lover in the 70's. They're okay. I've been considering swapping them out with either an aftermarket version of the same thing or some standard Seymour Duncan humbuckers. The only problem is that the Wide Range pickups are slightly bigger than normal so I'd have to get a new pick-guard cut.
Zauls
So I've decided that I'm getting a 7-string. Got a budget of about £750. So far I have two options: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400747120909?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sterling-By-Musicman-JP-70-John-Petrucci-Signature-New-Free-Deluxe-Gigbag-/271593933077?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3f3c428915 Of the two, which should I get? Or if anyone has any better suggestions then I would appreciate it.

The neck pickup on the RG927 is surprisingly good so I left it in (the bridge I swapped out though), and that's saying something because I always change stock pickups lol. The LTD H-7 I believe is in the same price range and I prefer it over both guitars you listed. However I think the best guitar in that price range is Schecter's KM-7, it already has really nice stock pickups so you won't have to swap them out. Tentacruel
Honestly, you can't go wrong with the Schecters or Ibanezes or Ltd's in the 600-1000 USD price range. Definitely agree about the KM-7. Fantastic specs for the price.

Zauls
So after much extensive research I found the Schecter and the LTD to be too expensive, at least in the UK, and I've decided on an RG927. However I now have a choice between the one I posted above and this one: http://www.dawsons.co.uk/ibanez-rg927wzcz-exotic-premium-7-string-electric-guitar-natural Would have to go over my budget slightly for this one but I reckon it might be worth it. Its a 2015 model and that finish is beautiful. What do you think?
Tentacruel
That's probably wise. I forgot, but Schecter and ltd are much more expensive in Europe for some reason. That ibanez looks great. Go for it.
Zauls
And I've just found one for £735! Absolutely no contest now.

Zauls
So my new guitar arrived today. Its really beautiful and I love it but I already broke it lol... Basically what's happened is when I was adjusting the action using the screw thing on the tremolo it decided that it didn't like Allen keys and now the Allen key that's supposed to work with it doesn't work any more and I can only adjust my action upward. If I'm honest I was kinda forcing it a bit too much because even on the lowest setting the action was too high. What the hell do I do about it though? Btw, it's an Edge Zero 2-7 tremolo if that helps.
NotKrow
Do you mean you stripped it? I would bring it to your local luthier and get it checked out
