Sir Yamiegg
Previously, Six Samurai decks have ran more Traps than my 8 and used them to wall up behind Shi En. For this, they have been sacrificing a few consistency cards - the 3rd Asceticism or Smoke Signal, perhaps. This kind of build is made possible - with fewer Traps - by the release of Solemn Scolding. It's simple; pay 3000 for a Judgement/Barrier rolled into one. The catch? You need to only control Scolding in your Set S/T zones. This does work alongside Vanity, because Vanity will be face-up - of course, when Scolding resolves, Vanity will die, but sometimes that negation is key even under a godly Trap like Emptiness. I also run Compulsory and Sword Technique at 1 because they are very powerful chainable cards that can resolve quickly and leave the board free for a Scolding or Vanity - the same applies to Lance, which helps me get over bigger monsters Shi En can't handle. I'm considering a Spirit replacing one Lance. Theory-Oh 1 in 5 cards you draw should theoretically be a Trap as Traps make up 20% of the Deck; roughly 1 in 3 cards should be a search/draw card, enabling you to draw into those key Traps - Vanity and Scolding - sooner. So far I have bricked once in 10 Duels and only twice got what I considered a "bad hand". So far I've been testing in unrated singles on DN (with a note saying testing for TCG rated). Burning Abyss This is probably the worst match-up of the Big 3 as they run so many Traps, and Dante is so hard to get over in this Deck. I stand at 2-4 with BA. Qliphort A really good match-up for the Deck. Shi En turn 1 is pretty devastating to them, especially when combined with a Scolding or MST for that pesky Skill Drain. 5-0 against Qliphort. Shaddoll The first Shaddoll game, I bricked but it's a pretty good match-up as Vanity's and Shi En are devastating to them - and the Artifacts are hardly being run at all. 6-2 to Shaddolls. Feedback, help, etc. all greatly appreciated. Let's see how the new age of Protect the Castle does!

It's not a pop, it's a negation; it's comparable to Solemn Judgment, which players underestimated until Tele-DaD. If you have backrow, it's chainable; Vanity's will be mostly pre-emptive in the Deck anyway if you have a Scolding, and Compuls is there to deal with big threats that have already hit the board, so I find Scolding is live 99% of the time. If you draw multiples, fair enough, but I've so far dead-drawn one only twice. I updated the Deck and OP with "Big 3" results.

Um, your mixing up your homophones a bit their (I think anyways) because when someone says "a pop" in that context means like, "A use". You still have a fair point its just that i think he meant something else. Deck looks pretty solid tbh, but if you were using this in a match against Qli's and they side in their Towers, does it have a way around it? The phrase "a pop" in the context of "a use" is almost never used here. I think it's an American expression. I have heard of it, I just read it wrongly. Thanks for pointing that out. Heroic Champion - Excalibur is your out to Towers onfield, and Scolding is your out to its Summon - but my reasoning with the Deck is that if they're in a position to drop Towers the game is pretty much lost anyway, and I should theoretically have no problems with stopping them from getting to that point. I play singles on DN usually so there's no siding involved anyway, but in the matches I've faced Qlis they've never been able to be in a position to Summon the big guy - they've searched it but I've always had an out to the Penduluming which makes Towers possible.
