Awakening to Fire Emblem

Donnel can only reclass into Fighter or Merc tree, what the hell are you on about ._.

And tbh, Cordelia's a f***ing b****. Also implied that Lon'qu is the canon father of Owain, iirc.

Uh oh. I'm pairing off Lon'qu with Maribelle and Lissa with Ricken. Of course I can reclass the heck out of Owain to make him as broken as possible.So... I'm sticking to this. For my femavatar, Canon relations. Though I still think Owain makes a better sage than swordsman, and Ricken a better dad than Lon'qu.

I don't remember how exactly, but the game makes it so that when you reclass too much gain too many levels, the exp. gain slows down a bit, so actually reclassing too much, while tempting, can have its own problems.

As for pairings, just do what you want. There are, of course, ones that are considered more "canon" or better for optimizing, but in the end, I think any parent can work okay. That's one of the good things about Awakening, is that no matter what, no one character truly "sucks."

Though I would recommend, no matter the parent, that they pass down the most useful skill they can to their child.

For instance, Owain. Lissa giving Galeforce is probably what you want. For the father, it honestly depends on your end-game Owain. If sage is what you want, then passing down something from a different class tree than sage is recommended, since you won't have to reclass Owain as much. Luna is a good choice that could probably stack well with Astra, the latter of which Owain gets if you promote him from his base class.

bump: Okay, status report, Tharja is now a Sniper, gonna get the Skills for that, then Reclass her as Knight, then General, then Great Knight and finally go back to Dark Mage to reclass her as Sorceress.

Also, Cordelia and Stahl got hitched, Olivia with Galeforce and Libra got hitched, Gregor and Miriel got hitched too, as did Maribelle and Lon'qu. Tharja and Gaius are A rank and getting started on Panne and Kellam. Gonna have to go to the resort to get everyone paired up and wed.

But I'll also reclass Sumia to Great Knight, then Cleric, then War Monk, then Sage, then back to Pegasus Knight and then Falcoknight. By then, both Tharja and Sumia will wreck everything. Of course I'll have my other units go through their classes too. I really wanted to see Lon'qu as a swordmaster, but gotta go get his other skills first.

It's amazing to me how much people tend to put into reclassing and such.

I think I reclassed once so far. Not sure why but I don't like to spend too much time doing it and grinding levels, I feel it makes the game too easy. (And on Lunatic grinding is not so easy without the special maps so I can't bother doing it there either.)

The EXP DLC makes level grinding so easy, so why not make the best possible characters, I say. Getting them all the right skills isn't too much trouble.

I ended up doing StahlxTharja, thought that was cute. It also gave Noir really awesome strength for her sniping. Though since she got Vengeance from Tharja, it was activating literally every battle, oftentimes twice since she'd double everything. But I really like her evil laugh, so it was okay.

I haven't bought any DLC, when I do I want them all so I don't feel like just buying one.

As for "why not" it's just a personal thing. I don't want OP characters, I want to have difficulty with this kind of game. (Heck if I want OP I just need to play like I normally do on Normal mode.)

It's not much trouble no, but for how I personally like to play it's pointless. I might try getting a few optimized characters sometime. I'm just saying what I personally feel like doing in the game though.

I had the same experience with Noire Vengeance. XD

I've done a couple files where I played through with just Chrom/Avatar and all the DLC characters. I really love the art for the special ones you get via the DLC.

In case you don't know since you don't have any yet, the DLC characters can't have supports, but they all come with special skills. For example, Ephraim is a Great Knight who comes with Conquest, and Seliph is a Swordsmaster who comes with Galeforce.

Cowcow's thing is reclassing, mine is using the DLC characters.

Idk, I just really like using the characters I already have (1st gen and 2nd gen) so I don't bother using the DLC ones I get, despite how badass they are. I'm also a bit squeamish about using the DLC skills like Limit Breaker, despite how "limit breaking" they are.

Still, I've heard that you pretty much need to optimize for Apotheosis, though I don't have that Xenologue so I wouldn't know.

Yeah, Limit Breaker might be a necessity for that. I knew I couldn't complete it but I just loaded up Apotheosis to see what kind of enemies I was facing. In the first wave, there were a few Generals, each with maxed out stats far above the normal stat caps, and with skills like Pavise+ and Aegis+. One General was even stronger than the rest and had those skills as well as Dragonskin.

Scary stuff.

Hey Shradow, I've been meaning to ask: Who the heck is the guy in your signature? I think I remember seeing one BMX anime but only the dark climax, never saw the ending.

Also, Just got Owain, but there's still one character I have yet to get hitched, Me, specifically my Avatar Robin. And without that, no Morgan Paralogue. So, should I have the Avatar pair up with Lucina cause that'd be weird. Especially since the others are taken. And can Morgan reclass to Tactician if he/she is the parent's class?

Ugh, Apotheosis sounds terrifying...I mean, I know the DLC is quite a bit harder than the main-game but Dragonskin on top of Aegis+ and Pavise+? That's just not fair.

As for the Avatar, they can literally pair up with anybody (as long as they're the opposite gender and as long as they're not Morgan or a DLC character). So you run the gamut from the 1st-gen people like Sumia to the 2nd-gen people like Nah and then the ones that don't pair with anybody else like Say'ri. Not to mention the Paralogue characters. I'd say just choose whoever you want to pair with, since it's basically you.
