Need for Speed.

Seeing as how I recently got back into the series, I thought it would be fitting to post a thread on it.

 

What do you think of the Need for Speed series? And what do you hope the new one has?

I've only played one and it's the android version.  Looks fun, but I hate racing games where you can crash into civilians.  So annoying.

NSFU2 is the only one I've played, but it's an awesome game.

 

Unfortunately, racing games can't really do much to change themselves, or keep themselves fresh. I mean, in something like Mario Kart, there are crazy stages, and powerups, and lovable characters, and what-not. But with a franchise like Need for Speed, that's something you can't do, unless you feel like watching your Nissan get pegged by a Blue Shell. Everything that could be done has already been done.

 

The only thing I see that would keep a franchise like this long standing would be like the new FF, a road trip simulator. With the new graphics that are always coming out, imagine taking a drive through some of the most amazing spots in the world. Optional races on the side, customizations, maybe even some form of plot. It'd be great.

Need for Speed is my favorite game series of all time. The only one I haven't completed so far since NFSU is Shift 2; all the others I have completed. NFSU, for example, I've completed 14 times, but that's because when we were poor it was the only game that worked on my old computer. But even so I love playing it and I still try to play some NFS games whenever I can.
