Pot of Destiny (taste your luck)

Declare 1 card name; excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, then add as many excavated copies of the declared card as possible to your hand (if any), also shuffle the rest back into your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Pot of Destiny" per turn. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this card.

Card Tips: This card could be a +0 up to +3, the logic is to declare 1 card that you run at 3 and you have not used any copy of it yet otherwise there is no reason to run/activate this card unless you want to risk.

As stated, 10 is stupid.
I mean, I could just easily eat through my deck with an Exodia.dek or some other FTK/OTK bullshit; Declare [auto-win piece here] and potentially get it within said 10 cards/however many cards are remaining.

I made it "5 cards" but i think its too bad. Lets say you play 2nd, so 6 cards in your hand, and you have 1 Pot of Destiny to activate. You declare 1 card and you hope for finding at least 1 copy of it among 5 of the rest 34 cards. What chances you have?

about 5/39, but it depends on how many copies of the card you'd presumably be looking for in your deck and how many you've already drawn. also 10 is too much. 5 is fine, maybe even stretching it a bit, i mean look at duality, which does almost the exact same thing; it lets you look at 3 cards: that's it.

At 1/5 you're still going to grab the declared card15% of the time after your opening hand, and that number only goes up as the duel goes on. Its effectively a free whatever searcher. Points go to you for trying but doing a little math wouldn't hurt.

EDIT: because my weird sticky keys are being messed up, thats instead 16.5% and in a deck that would use this thats hardly a downside... Interesting effort though.

Time to do some math magic. 34 cards left in deck and you play this, declaring a card that you run 3 of.

The chance of the first excavated card being the declared card is 3/34

The chance of the first card being wrong, but the second being right is 31/34 * 3/33

The chance of the first two being wrong but the third being right is 31/34 * 30/33 * 3/32

The chance of the first three being wrong but the fourth being right is 31/34 * 30/33 * 29/32 * 3/31

The chance of only the fifth card being right is 31/34 * 30/33 * 29/32 * 28/31 * 3/30

3/34 + 31/34 * 3/33 + 31/34 * 30/33 * 3/32 + 31/34 * 30/33 * 29/32 * 3/31 + 31/34 * 30/33 * 29/32 * 28/31 * 3/30

That equals a just under 39 percent chance you will get the declared card when using this after your starting 6. Obviously the odds change if your deck is less or if less than 3 in deck but this should give you an idea.

This is not a card that every Deck can use, it is very much a chance card. I can see decks that need just that one card to OTK running this, but if it is called wrong then you just wasted a card. I would say that this card is okay. It's not exactly something that the game needs, but if it existed it wouldn't really hurt things that badly either.
